Town Hotel review Booked for a 3 day stay, family room bed and breakfast. Key points: - The hotel has no car park, you have to park in the shopping centre facility which is £8 for over 5 hours (eg overnight) and £24 for 24 hours - There was no breakfast even though it is advertised as a B&B and we thought that it was included in the price - Parking and breakfast added £40 daily to the room cost, you need to factor this in - You only get one key so have to coordinate going out and returning - Our family room was very small about 8.5ft x 16ft and contained 2 x very small double beds. With 4 cases in the room there was very little space to move - The mattresses were small and too soft and spongy - particularly at the edge - you constantly feel like you are about to fall out of bed. - The room was very hot and had no aircon. Only option was to open the window but the street noise was very loud and, as the hotel faces two pubs, went on very late on Friday and Saturday - The bathroom was small and clean but had no integral fan (usually activated from the light switch) to clear toilet smells and shower steam - None of the doors in the hotel seem to have tensioners to dampen closure noise, you can hear doors slamming as people return during the evening and night Cannot recommend this hotel at all. Cancelled our stay on the way back and stayed at the holiday Inn which was £40 per night net cheaper, bigger room and better beds. Will avoid staying here in the future.

Originally booked for July, due to Covid we contacted the hotel and asked for a change of date by email. The hotel confirmed the change of date to the 20th August, we also emailed the hotel on the 19th August to re confirm, again reply was OK. After driving 6 hours we arrived at the hotel to be informed there was no reservation & no rooms available. No apology, indeed the receptionist also said he was not sorry!!!, yes unbelievable. We asked for a refund only to be told Boss man in Turkey no refund. The only option was the Ibis which was £298 for 2 nights. We are waiting for a reply to our complaint from Booking.com, what ever the cost to me and my wife, we will pursue this matter to the end. Absolute Disgrace.

Cheap, but you get what you paid for. The guy who met us couldn't speak English. When we complained the shower was scalding and the toilet wouldn't always flush, he said that they were OK. Beware this pla

Booked 2 rooms by phone direct with hotel at the beginning of June for stay on 2nd July. Had text confirmation from hotel. When we turned up on Friday 2nd July after a nightmare 8 hour drive was advised by the smoking, non English speaking, non mask wearing member of staff after he'd looked at a tatty bit of paper that he had no rooms. Showed him our confirmation text to which he denied all knowledge of the phone number it had come from. My husband phoned the number and was advised by another barely able to speak English person that he knew nothing and although was from the Town Hotel he was in London. We were unsurprisingly very cross and removed our bags from the "reception area" ,googled nearby hotels and left. The reception area was dark, there didn't appear to be any lights on, smelled of cigarette smoke indeed the "receptionist "was standing inside the door smoking, there didn't appear to be any covid precautions in place . The "receptionist's" attitude was appalling answering everything with the fact he didn't understand as if that made it all right. AVOID .

our room was meant to be a deluxe double,as im disabled they put me in their ground floor disabled wheelchair friendly room......ummmm nope its not fit for purpose!! you go through a fire door and then in about 3-4 feet you have the rooms door, once in if using a wheelchair you can only get it in the door, there is no room to manouver around the room you cannot get it around the bed and nor can you shut the room door. if you want to leave the room both the room door and the fire door open inwards,so if alone its not only a struggle to get through the rooms door but then you are trapped between the 2 as the fire door also opens inwards!!! the disabled alarm in the bathroom is in middle of the room and tied up so if you fell you coulnt reach it to call for help, also its not a wet room and the shower tray is quite high. in the room the decor needs updating the finish is very poor, curtains didnt cover the whole of the windows, the net was grotty and ripped.only 1 bedside cabinet and that overhung the wall it was on and got in the way coming in the door, had to use the bin as a bedside table on my side, there was a socket my side but i had to get my partner to pull the bed forwards to be able to use it,bed frame was too big for matress and i walked into it numerous times and hurt myself, nowhere to sit other than the bed, nowhere to put my make up etc, no milk on the beverage tray, radiator was dirty, matress was dirty and had hairs on it, only 1 pillow each that was hard, only one towel between us. as a alleyway went past the room we couldnt open the curtains as had no privacy or the window, so asked for a fan,the telephone wasnt even plugged in,or in fact have a cord to plug it in with, so couldnt contact reception, no dedicated seating area or desk, had to show a picture of one for him to understand and then was told sorry we only have 1 and another room has it!!!! they say there is no parking, but there are disabled bays right outside with 3 hours free parking and other bays you can park all day in if oyu have a blue badge....why dont they advertise this posibity ?the worst thing was that they didnt clean the room, empty the bin or bring fresh towels, in fact they didnt enter the room at all after 1st night so our towel was still wet when we got back and had to ask for another 2 towels.the hairdryer was hard wired and was the opposite side of room to the mirror and impossible to use and see what i was doing. had i have needed my walker i wouldnt even have been able to get that around the room, i will attach pics to show
