Having got engaged here only a few years ago, when I lived nearby, this was an eatery that we have always enjoyed coming to. For our short holiday this year we, as many do, returned. Given covid then menu was quite short-1 sheet of paper, but of that sheet, some items were NOT available for us to eat. We went for steak, but discovered very late that and I quote "there is a shortage of tomatoes and mushrooms in Somerset" at the minute which is why we didnt put them on your plate". They did HOWEVER, charge us for them! If this is the way you do business Marstons, then in future, we need to think about whether we visit again or go somewhere else. Morrisons nearby DO sell tomatoes and Mushrooms so we cant see the problem. Oh, the steak - bring a chisel!, the steak knife struggled to cut thru the one I had. Sadly, not a visit that will be fondly remembered

Food is average. If it wasn’t for the two for one offer on main courses, I would have complained. We both ordered burgers, which you only have the option of double, triple of mega… no single. They were supposed to be served in a bun with the relevant toppings, lettuce and sauce. Neither of which came with lettuce and sauce, which proved eating an already dry burger rather unenjoyable. Not to mention the fact it was priced at £14! Which for a below average burger is overpriced. Wasn’t too impressed with the lack of service. We had to find our own menus, cutlery & sauces, and were not once asked how our food was. Probably won’t return for a while.
