About
Description
Built in 1906, with captivating views of the Leven Valley on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors, Crathorne Hall is at once grand and stately, warm and welcoming. Owned by the Dugdale family until 1977, the hall has More played host to politicians, courted royalty and delighted socialites over the decades. Yet despite moving in stately circles, the house has stayed true to its roots as a place of entertainment and relaxation. Now it is yours to explore. Enjoy an overnight stay in one of our 37 bedrooms (17 of which have recently been refurbished following a £4 million restoration of the Hall's East Wing), plan your perfect day and take over the hotel for your wedding or inspire your delegates with our meeting facilities. Dear foody363, Thank you for choosing Crathorne Hall for your pre-Christmas Family Lunch and for taking your time to share your feedback online and by email, which I received yesterday. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your lunch with us on Sunday. We had 80 guests in the Drawing Room and felt it would be uncomfortably hot if we had lit the log fire. There were other fires lit throughout the hotel including the Nancy Tenant’s Bar and the Leven Restaurant which were open and available for all of our guests to enjoy. Our service should have been better, and I am sorry that it took so long to take your order. The team on duty have informed me that we offered some complimentary drinks to you as a gesture of apology for the slow service. Regarding the wine, all of our prices are stated on our wine list next to each selection. We have our house selection starting from £24.00, and a few more bins in this price range. Our Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio is a 2017 vintage and a very good one, you should have been shown the list so that you were aware that it was £37.00. I do hope that otherwise you had a nice afternoon and that the food along with the visit and gifts from Santa were all more enjoyable. With best regards

Quite a nice meal in spite of a bit of an initial wait for our drinks . We both had beef which was cooked just right .. roast potatoes had been ‘hanging around s bit’ as they were quite tough.. veg nice and crisp .. Yorkshires acceptable ....

Dear lovellc2016 Thank you for choosing to take Sunday Lunch with us here at Crathorne Hall, and for taking your time to share your feedback online. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed your meal overall however I was disappointed to read that although the beef was cooked just right, your potatoes and Yorkshires were just acceptable. I have shared your feedback with our Head Chef who will address the shortfalls with his team. We have received a couple of comments regarding the price of our Pinot Grigio this month and although the prices are all stated on our wine list, perhaps we are not offering the list to all of our guests. We have many bins that are in the lower price range, but our Pinot Grigio is a more expensive and very good quality selection, the bottle is £37.00. Thank you once again and I hope that we have the opportunity to welcome you back to Crathorne Hall again soon. With best regards Elizabeth

We had a fabulous overnight stay at the Crathorne on Friday. Even though there was an event on in the hotel this did not detract from the service or the food quality offered to us.
We had our evening meal in the restaurant. The service from staff was excellent, thank you James a

I visited with my Grandma on Friday 16th November, and had booked a special 2 Champagne Afternoon Teas for £35 package.

There is nothing negative to say about our visit, the food was lovely but the service really stood out. Gloria, who looked after us, couldn't have done more.

Hi has anyone stayed in one of the classic rooms who can comment on what they like thanks
We only live a few miles away but stayed here for my brother in laws wedding in a classic room and it was lovely. Like others say a little old fashioned but it’s all in the runni g theme of the hotel so fits in just nicely. Bed very comfortable and it was immaculate. Hope this helps.

Prices in the bar as attending a wedding shortly cheers mark
Cannot give definitive answer but my experience was that prices equivalent to usual hotel prices. Good wines list. Best to ask hotel for copy of drinks tariff.

Is this place dog friendly?
Hi....As we didn't travel with dogs we can't really confirm one way or another. The hotel does have extensive grounds but I'm doubtful that the interior layout is the best for dogs. I suggest you contact "Handpicked Hotels" directly on 01642 700 398 Sorry I can't be of more help..... T
