I got off the plane at 10:20 took a taxi straight to the Hotel couldn’t get an answer knock on the windows phoned the hotel taxi driver left I was left outside had to walk back to Stanstead airport it is now 220 am in the morning got to wait to 4 o’clock to get a coach to Heathrow then I have to wait another three hours to get a coach 830am to Exeter horrified by this experience you’ve took £45 of my money Carol I am very angry and upset as I’ve never heard anything like it in my life to run a B&B next to the airport and have a shutdown by 11 o’clock when I was outside your just after 11 I don’t know how you could leave someone on the street Josephine Rooney

You may well have got off the plane at 22.20 but I emailed you at 23.10 to advise you that I was closing and had no response either then or when I requested earlier for you to confirm your arrival time if you were on a flight and flight details, but again had no response. If you are going to leave a negative review please make sure it is accurate! According to 24/7 the airport taxis records who brought you out to me you arrived at 23.40, which seems pretty accurate as the first missed call I had was at 23.41 and I was also advised by 24/7 that they took you back to the airport, so why lie? You did not walk back to the Airport. You were certainly not outside at 23.00 were you. You ask why bed and breakfasts don’t operate after 23.00 the answer is simple, we start our day at 6.30am and need to sleep! That is what Hotels are for they operate a 24 hour check in You booked through booking.com and it states quite clearly my latest check in time, so there is no excuse that you didn’t know, the onus is on you when you make the booking to read the terms and conditions. With regards to payment the room was reserved and held for you until 23.00, therefore it has to be paid for. Finally, it is not acceptable to send dozens of impolite emails and voicemails I.e A voicemail telling me that you had a child with you (the taxi company confirmed you were on your own) , also advising me to ‘watch my back’, not a rational persons comments. So if anyone reads this review, please make sure when booking a bed and breakfast to check the closing times, we cannot operate like a Hotel for obvious reasons .

I have just submitted a complaint to trip advisor, regarding this bogus review, Your rambling comments don’t make sense the contents of your review give the impression you may be deluded, I haven’t had anyone from Essex stay with me in November, all my bookings come through booking.com I don’t take them otherwise. If you are genuine you can leave a review on booking.com, As far as I am aware you have never stayed at my property, I am fully aware that anyone can leave a review on trip advisor and never have any connection with the property they are reviewing. If I had remotely behaved as you have suggested I wouldn’t have been able to do this job very successfully for The last 20 years. Whoever you are, you need to get an education and learn how to spell I.e necessary, human, inconvenience, your

I booked the room as I had a 0630 flight from Stansted and wanted to get a few hours sleep before travel. I set off from Liverpool at 1800, aiming to be there for 2200 and be in bed by 2230 I had road closures all the way down - the M6, M1, A14, and I made Carol aware from 2200 that I was taking a lot longer than expected - we kept in touch by the hour to state where I was, and at 0030, with me just 20 minutes away, she told me that she was going to bed and I wouldn't be staying there Why the key couldn't be left in a plantpot or somewhere else secret, I don't know I had to sleep in my car as the other hotel she recommended wanted £120 For the sake of 20 minutes, she wouldn't stay up, knowing that she could go to bed pocketing £50 for doing nothing, relying on the check in time of 2330 on her T&C's to back her up In this line of business, Customer Service is paramount, and people are bound to experience travel delays, especially when travelling long distances - I wasn't expecting her to stay up all night, but for the sake of 20 minutes, she wouldn't So my holiday got off to the worst possible start, while Carol pocketed £50 for doing nothing - not washing a towel or the bed sheets, and not even willing to compromise. Next time I am at Stanstead, I will stay in a hotel with 24 hour reception so I can actually get to use the bed when I arrive, and not have to sleep in my car in the cold Additionally, I had booked the double room, only to be told that a couple had turned up at 9pm, and she had swapped them into there and given me the twin - which if I had wanted the twin I would have booked the twin It appears I am the 5th person of a small number to give a similar review, so it seems customer service isn't s strong point, and ripping people off is

When you booked through booking.com you were advised that there is no check in after 23.00 you still haven’t arrived by 00.30 another 20 minutes and it would be nearer 1am (2 hours after my check in closes,) I always try and wait for guests to arrive, but this is not always possible midnight is my absolute latest, as I have to be up at 6am every morning, unfortunately, I am unable to leave a key as I am only a bed and breakfast so it is not possible to allow people to wander around my home when they don’t know where to go. Also there is a security issue if my door is not locked properly, guests fail to close the door when they leave early, I can’t go to bed and trust guests will lock up,properly. When booking through booking.com it states quite clearly under the policies section that there is no free cancellation 24 hours before arrival, therefore it is up to the guest to arrive before check in closes, if the guest is in any doubt that they may not arrive before the check in deadline then a Hotel with a 24 hour check in should be booked. Booking.com take all payments for me, if the room is reserved then it does have to be paid for whether it is used or not.
