#2 of 2 hotels in Beaulieu
Set right in the heart of the forest, Beaulieu Hotel is a former coaching inn surrounded by stunning open heathland and just a few minutes from both the picturesque village of Beaulieu and Lyndhurst, the ‘capital’ of the New Forest. Designed to feel like a country home-from-home that brings you closer to nature, many of the 35 bedrooms have been recently refurbished. Stylish, comfortable and homely, there’s a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment you arrive. Its spacious bar and lounge is dotted with plush, cosy seating areas and relaxed, informal spaces to get-together. By day it becomes home of afternoon tea and somewhere for guests to relax with a cocktail or two. By night it’s the perfect space to enjoy a pre and post dinner drink or a bite to eat with a selection of small plates. The pub restaurant next door serves freshly prepared and flavoursome home-cooked food that showcases New Forest produce at its best for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

If they had enough staff the place might be nice. But the staff were so stretched you could not get served. The hotel is definitely not deserving of its high rating stayed in better cheap hotels. Location is the probable thing that is only keep it afloat. Definitely will never stay there again

We have just returned from a two night stay using a gift voucher we were given for Christmas. The hotel is in a beautiful location. We loved watching the ponies and cows wandering around. Very pleased to see that all staff wore masks and were all very polite and helpful. Also very pleased to see that the room had been sealed after cleaning. The room (room 5) was bright and airy with a very comfortable bed. We overlooked the Drift Inn so had some noise from delivery lorries but it did not distract from our overall stay. We had dinner at the Drift. Food was delicious and well cooked. The continental breakfast included in the price was adequate but I think if we stayed here again we would pay extra for a cooked breakfast. Overall a very pleasant stay and would certainly have no reservations in recommending the hotel.

Picked this hotel to have our afternoon tea at as part of a buyagift experience. Absolutely stunning setting, right in the middle of the new forest. The hotel itself is gorgeous, the area where the afternoon teas are held is spacious, airy, modern and really comfortable. The man who looked after us was extremely polite, friendly and attentive and most importantly our afternoon tea was just perfect. Best one we’ve ever had! Nothing was too much trouble, everything was homemade. I especially liked the homemade choux buns filled with lemon cream. Delicious!

This hotel should be renamed Fawlty Towers. No towels in room. Response: "Ah that's because we share the towels with our other hotels." ???!!! Cold shower. Response: "Ah yeah it's an old boiler and you have to let the water run a bit. Or maybe someone else was having a shower at the same time." ???!!! In that shower there was barely room to turn around. No bathmat. No soap. No apologies for any for it. To top it off, we were charged for breakfasts we didn't even have. Response: "That's fine, we can knock that off." Again, no apology. A real shame as the pool is a bonus and the location is lovely. Tip to Manager: buy more towels. And a new boiler. And start getting the basics right.
