We spent a week in the hotel. The staff were very friendly, food was good and accommodation was really fine. Location was close to town with good walking from the hotel. Parking was good All was very clean and tidy
Location: The location of the hotel makes it - edge of the New Forest and wild horses literally across the road, the small Lyndhurst High St. 5 min walk up the road... 15 min drive to Rhinefield Ornamental Drive and other well known New Forest locations. Hotel surroundings are nice and well kept, with a cute little fountain in the front. Our room: Decent sized room for 2 nights, clean and new carpet, freshly decorated, new looking en suite bath and shower room with plenty of hot water. Nice and quiet, even though on the middle floor. TV on the wall, with Freeview. Big, comfy bed. Room was very warm (hot day!) so asked for a fan, no problem. Tea and coffee. available in room, but bottled water would have been a nice addition. Could have done with a couple more plug sockets for fan, phone charging etc, but adequate. Food: Breakfast was lovely - pre-ordered the night before (which I don’t particularly like) but worked well for managing times/ numbers in dining room with covid. Missing croissants, cereal, fruit etc. and it’s straight in with the hot food. Had to request more toast both days, but brought quickly with no fuss. Food was hot and well cooked - lovely sausages, mushrooms and hash browns, especially. No offer of more coffee or anything. Hot and served quickly. Dinner was lovely - we had curry both nights. Tasty, hot and flavoursome. Only thing missing was a naan bread, to mop up the lovely sauce! Decent portions and nice and hot. Again, ordered in advance, to manage numbers in the dining room, which was fine. Only issue was, we advised in advance of a specific food allergy, on arrival they said they hadn’t heard of it and didn’t have an allergy menu - which is required in any place serving food to the public. So, if you have any food allergies, be clear in terms of what you can/ can’t eat and speak up. The chef talked to us and it wasn’t an issue ultimately. Overall, a lovely cute stay, would recommend and definitely come back. Staff overall were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely stay. Definitely visit the Mad Hatters Tea Room in the High Street - cream tea to die for!!…
Great hotel just a short distance from the centre of Lyndhurst, the room we had was very spacious and very clean, the staff were all very pleasant and the breakfast was really tasty with good options. There is ample on site parking. Would definitely recommend
My four sisters and I stayed in this hotel for our first get together in over a year! Very comfortable clean rooms. Excellent hospitality from all the staff. Great home cooked evening meal. Excellent location for the New Forest and walking in to Lyndhurst. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again.
We stayed in this gem of a hotel again which is a perfect place for a weekend getaway. It sits in such an excellent location with the town centre just mins walk away and the new forest just across the road. The room was very clean, spacious and the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly making our stay very memorable. Both breakfast and dinner was fantastic with wide selection of dishes. We very much enjoyed the curries that was on the menu, very authentic and fresh. Definitely recommend if you are planning to visit the New Forest.
