We had a very nice stay at Rufus House in the heart of the New Forest. It is situated on the A35 but our room at the rear of the property was extremely quiet. It is an unusual building with plenty of character and our room was quite large, with a small settee and comfortable bed. The shower room was fine and everything was spotless throughout. The hosts were delightful and looked after us really well and produced a fine breakfast. We were impressed with the precautions they are taking regarding Covid, which meant that we felt very safe. We highly recommend this establishment and we would be more than happy to stay here again.
The host we met on arrival was absolutely lovely, she took the time to give us a map and recommend walks and places to go. The room was cosy, old fashioned and just a great place to spend a few nights with lots of great walks and restaurants near by.
Great location, just a short walk from the high street and routes out to bike trails etc. The host went above and beyond which was great especially with the covid situation, it felt safe and clean. Beds are comfortable and breakfast is very good also if you decide to purchase these. Bit of traffic on the main road through the night, but not a major problem.
Met at the door on arrival. Covid safe environment. Super breakfasts. Good size room. Ernesto (The owner) and Buddy were so welcoming and friendly. Would go back again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much.
We have just got back from a lovely long weekend staying at Rufus House. The hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming or accommodating, soo friendly and genuinely thankful for our custom. Breakfast was pre-ordered due to COVID which was absolutely fine, timed to perfection and tasted amazing! The room itself was lovely, immaculately clean, with everything we needed. We also had a little fridge with bottled water, soft drinks and wine glasses which was such a lovely touch! The owners don’t come into the room during your stay due to coronavirus therefore your towels aren’t changed which is something to bear in mind but not a problem for us. Location was a opposite a little gate straight into the new forest, and a very short 5 minute walk into Lyndhurst town itself which was full of lovely little pubs, restaurants and shops. Whenever we re-visit the new forest again we will be sure to stay at Rufus House again, we can not fault it and loved every minute Thank you SO much…
