Nothing on the website indicated that this hotel is right on one of the main traffic junction in Lyndhurst. So if you have a room on the front of the hotel, expect lots of traffic noise. And the window in our room on floor 2 was small and so high up that I could not see out of it, made the room quite dark and gloomy. Definitely not worth £200 per night that we paid.

Amazing dining. Generally good degree of cleanliness. Decor needs a makeover. Mattress hard and uncomfortable. Sheets need to be fitted rather than loose. Overall, a delightful stay and would definitely recommend.

Overnight stay on business, location excellent for a walk down the High Street to sample some of the other pubs/restaurants. The hotel itself was clean & well organised, all staff wore masks & respected any wishes of the residents. Will stay here again in the future.

Spent 4 nights in July to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel is in the middle of Lyndhurst, within walking distance of the few shops and restaurants. Due to covid we only ate in the hotel for our evening meals. The breakfast was OK but nothing very special. Our first 2 were pre 19th July, so it was table service. It then became buffet from the 19th. Evening meals were very good, but would say the menu is limited. Due to the heat I was craving a salad. Most of the staff, especially the restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. Our room was very nice, overlooking the garden. It was however, unbearably hot. A fan was on the room which helped a little , but nights were still uncomfortable. Not much the hotel can do due to the age of the building. The main road is very busy, so advise you to request room at the back of the hotel. Lyndhurst is an ideal location for visiting the New Forest. The furthest we travelled was an hour away. The car park is small and quite tight moving in and out. There is no electric charging point.

Stayed for two nights and could not fault our visit. Staff were friendly & hotel well looked after. We were lucky to have one of the air conditioned rooms which was perfect as it was an extremely hot couple of days. The room was at the front of the hotel which is on the main road and could be very noisy but another benefit of our room was double glazing. The air conditioning meant windows could be kept shut and therefore the noise was not an issue. Breakfast was buffet style but very nice. There is an enclosed garden to the rear of the hotel which was perfect to make the most of the beautiful weather and happy hour. We look forward to returning soon.
