Arrived after a long drive from Cornwall, booked this hotel for its good price offered online. Receptionist on arrival was lovely, helped us out with a remote for the TV as the one from room was missing. The tesla chargers in this part of the services were not working so it meant a 10-15 minute drive to the northbound services to charge the car each time we wanted to do so. There is a KFC, Chopstix and Harry Ramsdens here along with a waitrose and wh smith shops and Starbucks. As for hotel, there is quite an unpleasant smell as you enter the reception area and in the stairwell area. Luckily it didn't appear to be in the bedroom although there were random bubbles on the wall??? The whole place could do with a revamp but all in all for what we paid it wasn't too bad. About an hour from Portsmouth and Southampton. It is a dog friendly hotel as well which is always a bonus.

After being renovated and new decor, it's is a great place for a short stay. The front off house staff Katie, mick, meachell and Sarah are so helpful, I have booked for the whole of August when it's my rest days.

The hotel is obviously undergoing refurbishment at the moment but my room was excellent in terms of cleanliness and facilities. When I rang to check availability I received a very friendly and welcoming response. As I checked in, Lindsay couldn't have been more helpful and is clearly naturally pleasant with good customer service skills (not often found these days). Whilst I was standing at Reception a couple arrived who'd actually booked for the previous night. As Fleet had no availability she not only suggested Winchester but called them to check they had available accommodation. All things added up to make it an enjoyable, excellent value stay.
