There was ample parking, and the room was alright, however at the price being charged I wasn't overly impressed with the room. It smelt very musty and we had to open the windows as soon as we arrived. The décor is also very dated and could do with some updating. However, at the back of the hotel is gorgeous with a big green area and a small stream running between the hotel and the Mouldy Fig restaurant. We sat outside the Mouldy Fig for drinks and ate in the restaurant for dinner. It was lovely and serene. I don't want to complain too much but when we arrived it looked like one lady was training another. The lady being trained was very nice and polite but the other one wasn't at all welcoming. First impressions weren't very good.
We stayed here for one night and would say that the stay was pleasant enough although we did have to change room as the initial one smelt musky! Room definitely would need updating but for an overnight stay it was OK for us. The hotel location is good with nice gardens to walk around by the stream. Breakfast is very good, really did enjoy that and nice staff. Will I be back? Umm..Yes but management do need to update their rooms and I may stay a little longer next time! :-)
Booked hotel package to see Shakatak. Check in extremely quick with very friendly and helpful receptionist. Room good size and good choice of teas/coffees. Bed very comfortable. Went to The Concorde Club to see Shakatak. 3 course meal very tasty and good value. Service from waiters/waitresses very speedy and they were all extremely friendly. Shakatak fantastic. Rolled into bed just before midnight. Breakfast was good with a choice of cereals, juices and full English. Special mention to the Duty Manager who went out of his way when we needed some help. Would not hesitate to go again.
We had a Ground Floor twin room it was Very dated but clean. Noisy in mornings with staff chatting in corridors- no good if you’d like a lie in - full English breakfast at Mouldy Fig was the best part of this stay - wouldn’t recommend- it wasn’t the cheapest in area either
Got a good hotel event deal with dbb Beautiful garden setting and well presented food, unfortunately apart from breakfast everything was bland, I'm vegetarian and only one choice of goan curry to eat that was tasteless. On arrival the girl serving us forgot our drinks and the same thing happened again later in day and it wasnt even busy, she just forgot. The room was clean but very dated and in need of refurbishment, drinks expensive, would stay again on a deal but not otherwise.
