Hotel very basic clean and comfy bed . Coffee and tea, making facilities . We found the bathroom to be small and smelt very damp. The receptionist is only at the desk for a short period of time and in no circumstances, warned us that we had to had a parking permit to park there. We ended up with a £60 fine. I wouldn’t use the hotel again

Okay we booked this because it was cheap. But it really was like something from a horror film!

The room was tiny and the walls paper thin- I was woken at 7am by people talking and it didn’t stop until I checked out at 9:45 (note the early check out time of 10am). It wasn’t comfortable, the bed sagged in the middle and the shower bracket was broken. The previous persons shower gel etc was still in the shower too, which was full of black mould. There was no phone signal (that near London?) and the WiFi also didn’t work which made communicating with friends impossible, every time a car pulled up I had to run out into the rain to see if it was them.

I gave it 2* as I suppose it could have been worse- the room itself, whilst not spotless, was relatively clean and check in and out was efficient. £60 was way too much for what we got though. I have another event near Epping next year and will be booking somewhere else.

Rooms were clean but cot was dirty and dusty. Toilet wouldn't always flush but bed was comfy for the few hours we lasted in the room. Thin walls and you might as well have your door open as it must be single glass pans.the group of lads next door were noisy taking calls and using the Internet till gone 12 smoking weed! And woke us all after trying to get in our room instead of there's!
Noisy taxis came and sat with its engine running outside the door which woke our baby up! 120 we had had enough and packed and went! I called the office bit know one was there till the next day at four!!
I wouldn't stay here again I'm afraid ☹️

Upon arrival i thought this seems like a very fun little place to stay in. Once i opened the door to my room i was disappointed. The toilet flush didn't properly work, the towels were in a bad state, the door couldn't open properly due to the position of the bed, the bed itself was very uncomfortable to sleep in. Overall the quality isn't great but it is bearable however what concerns me the most about this motel is the fact that they took money out of my friends bank account with no warning, no authorisation and refused to speak to her when later questioned. She has now had to cancel her card and an investigation is being made. Please do not give them your bank details and pay by cash as this could potentially happen again to other.

This place is appalling! Don’t ever stay here. On arrival the receptionist seemed dazed and confused- without a clue what we were paying, where our booking was and what day of the week it was! Slightly worrying when we had confirmed the booking several times.

On arrival to the room- the receptionist knocked on the door and in her words said ‘just incase anyone has snuck in’ not really appropriate when we were two young ladies staying in the room worried about security.

The room was previously a stable- and lets just say it smelt like one! The door was paper thin and didn’t feel secure at all.

The room was in a horrendous state- the toilet was near enough unusable as the flush no longer existed-we resulted to sticking out finger down the hole to work the flush- lovely!!! The towels looked prehistoric and were falling apart- the shower curtain was a lovely yellow!

In the room- the tea and coffee cups were dirty, the sheets were damp and the pillows were as thin as a piece of paper.

We put up with it for one night as we were out a wedding all day, however we were horrified to then see that we had money taken from our account for supposedly damaging the remote control with tongs. Funny when none of us used tongs and had been to the hairdressers that morning. They never gave us warning, nor gave us a contract- just took the money. We have since had to change card details to ensure they take no more.

When we called the hotel to discuss this they were rude, shouting and called us a liar- they then hung up!!!! Do not trust this hotel- they will take your money, no doubt scamming other people with similar lies…..

A truly horrendous stay

For those of you that want the earth for £60 a night, this is probably not the place for you, but for those who want a lovely quiet little stay, with lovely staff, clean rooms and amazing fresh coffee from the onsite cafe, this is definitely the place for you. Your £60 will get you a warm comfy stay, a large clean bathroom and even the ability to park outside your own front door. When you open the door and you can smell the clean bedding, you just know this place is being cared for. Speaking with the extremely helpful cleaner, we know it's recently been taken over by new management and some of the rooms are being refreshed, we weren't in a refreshed room and found it difficult to find something that needed the refreshment. The staff were lovely, the cafe was perfect, none of this having to be up at the crack of dawn to catch the breakfast times, the guy that ran it was lovely, chatty and made THE best coffee and want it take away, well of course, not a problem!! We stayed for 2 nights, but wished we'd booked for longer. The bed was comfy and we slept well. Location was perfect for us, we stayed here and travelled into London for sightseeing, only taking about 50 mins on the underground and after a long day walking round London, it was the perfect place to come home to and a short drive to Epping or Loughton for a bite to eat. Perfect place, we will be back!! :-) thank you!!

stayed lots of times in the past, always clean and comfortable, staff gone after 8pm, nice staff EXCEPT when went to stay last time they insisted on writing down my long credit card number + expires date + CSV number on the back, resulting in my having to go find another hotel at 7.30pm at night!
Anyone giving all of this information to any person or business is taking a huge gamble, told the owners insisted on this, even after you have paid fully so I can only assume its in case they want to take more from your card if you trash the room or steal the telly!

Suited our needs perfectly- quirky and homely and excellent value. The double room was clean, homely and the staff were very helpful, friendly and the breakfast was great. Only problem re location is phone reception, only orange/T mobile has consistent bars. Otherwise it's beautifully located. Next to a kids play barn so if u r coming on a Saturday the carpark will be full. But we will be coming back with the family soon as the family room looks fabulous. Many thanks!
