We booked this hotel with booking.com, for a weeks break. What a lovely hotel, the staff here were very good, pleasant friendly and professional, they were extremely helpful and kind. They only had the economy double room left. I did have a quick look on here, trip advisor and was a bit disappointed with some negative views, although, we were really pleasantly surprised, with how good the room was, we were in room 204 and It was perfect for our stay. so clean and very comfortable. The location of the hotel is so good. great for walking, we also had free access to bike's, which the hotel hires out for free to it's guests. Bexhill is a good 35 min walk and we really enjoyed walking there. small town. You also have The train station directly behind the hotel and so convenient, you have Hastings the one way and Eastbourne the other. so many things to do. we also used the facilities at the hotel, the swimming pool and sauna and Jacuzzi. really enjoyed and we were the only guests in there. picked the right time. we did eat at the restaurant couple of times and It was excellent food. It is more expensive, the quality was outstanding. We did eat out in Hastings and a fabulous italian restaurant in Bexhill Trattoria, excellent highly recommend. The breakfast at Cooden beach is so very good. We absolutely loved our stay cation at this wonderful Hotel.

As a treat we took my dad and his wife to the Cooden beach hotel. My wife and myself have eat at the hotel a few times and the food is always consistently good. This time as usual we were not disappointed. Sensible sized portions and very tasty. The location is fantastic and the staff were extremely polite, helpful and efficient. All in all as a special night out I can recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

Due to the silly prices and dismal service, we stopped eating at the Cooden Beach quite some time ago. However, the sun was shining yesterday, so we stopped off an had a San Miguel there in the afternoon. Two of us waited quite a while at our outdoor table, before being asked by a manager (who, bizarrely, was clearing tables because the 'waiting staff' were failing to do so) if we had ordered. We said 'no' and he promptly walked off! Eventually, a young boy took our order and after another bafflingly lengthy wait, we got out two small bottles (330ml) of beer and two less-than-sparkling glasses. The cost was £10, which is rather top-end for this part of the world. Outdoor customers have to pay for food/drink in advance, when the order is taken. Another waiter tried to give us food (that we hadn't paid for!) and when I approached a waiter and asked for a glass of water (there were large carafes on the waiter station) I was told that they had no glasses. So very odd, as there were vacant tables, so certainly not a capacity crowd. The problems seem to be down to young, inexperienced and untrained waiting staff that are not being managed or supervised. They are polite and friendly, but just not efficient or effective waiters, hence the long waits and chaotic service. There don't appear to be wine lists, so you have to ask what is available. The waiter reads from a list on his tablet, but you don't find out the price until asked to pay. Such a cockeyed way to run an establishment! It's a shame because the location is great but until they sort out the obvious problems and get better organised, it's one to avoid.

My husband and I booked the Cooden Beach to celebrate our anniversary and we can’t praise them enough. We first booked with Debbie who was brilliant from start to finish. We were informed of all costs, itinerary and any extras. We had a wonderful evening and we even stayed overnight. The staff were all excellent, caring and attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. I would wholly recommend this as a beautiful venue. Looking forward to all the changes they are making.

This has always been a special hotel to take friends for lunch in the main restaurant. But what a disappointment today. There was very pleasant young staff that had obviously had no training in being waiters. Two options my friend asked for on the menu they didn’t have, also the same for dessert the one she wanted again they didn’t have. The food was fine but not exceptional as it used to be. Plus when I mentioned to the head waiter when he asked if everything was ok that my friends husbands cappuccino coffee was more froth than coffee said, that’s what cappuccino is meant to be like! What happened to how a head waiter should be , that a customer is always right? What would it cost even if you didn’t agree, is say I’m so sorry I will top it up or get you another one? I’m afraid until they train the staff and improve the food, we will not be going again. I used to love it there and always felt special.
