Built using a combination of stone, brick and timber, the property was originally built in 1833 and has been extended and upgraded sympathetically to the original design. Myself, my partner and 8 week old baby stayed here for 2 nights for a family visit.
For those who haven’t stayed in wymondham before, it is a 10 minute walk into town.
Erna our host was fantastic! She keeps hood communication before, during and after your stay.
We arrived on a rainy Friday evening. Erna gave us good instructions on where to park and how to check in. The rooms are in a building separate to the main house so you don’t feel you are encroaching on anyone’s personal space.
After checking in Erna was kind enough to offer us submitting our breakfast request via sms rather than going out in the cold again.
Rooms are fabulous. You have a kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom and separate living room area which is more than expected from a B&B and suited us perfectly.
Breakfast can be eaten in your room or in the main house. Having a newborn we opted for in room for ease and privacy.
Our breakfast on day 1 was just coffee and a smoothie. The smoothie was delicious!
On day 2 we went for full English. You can tell the breakfast is freshly cooked and a lot of care is taken to make the meal flavoursome and all was appropriately seasoned. Tomatoes on the vine were lovely. A personal preference for us, but the bacon was streaky, eggs are scrambled and toast is a farmhouse/seeded loaf, where we would have preferred having back bacon and different options of bread and eggs, but the quality of what was presented was fantastic and cannot be faulted! It should be noted it was clear from the menu what was on offer and we didn’t request alternative options.
Overall we would stay here again as it’s excellent value for money, the whole experience was fantastic and perfect for what we needed!

This was our second visit to 61 on Folly, having previously stayed here for one night in August 2019 in order to be close to a family wedding venue. This latest occasion in February was again to celebrate a family event being hosted close to Norwich. The location, in Wymondham just south of the city, is perfect for us to travel to from London. We stayed for two nights on this occasion and everything was perfect, the hospitality is lovely, more like meeting up with friends than a business experience. The accommodation is excellent too, spacious rooms with storage and a handy little kitchen area adjacent to a smart shower room. The whole place was spotless, every area as clean as a whistle. Comfortable and nicely decorated. Its also worth mentioning that it is very nice to be able to park off road and close to the accommodation.
The breakfast was delicious, plenty of choices together with toast, juices and good coffee. There is a good flexibility with the timings too. We particularly enjoyed catching up with Erna, Dave and Cayden - a lovely family environment - definitely a bed and breakfast establishment to be highly recommended. Thanks again Erna X

Fantastic location in the centre of Wymondham. Great room with lots of space. We stayed in the Manhattan. You have your own keys to come and go as you please and as your room is adjacent to the main house you can truly relax. Everything needed is in your room and Erna (your hostess) is just a call or text away should you need anything. You can park your car just outside your room. Room was nice and warm and cosy, with added bonus of an additional space to sit at a table or sofa. Will definitely stay there again when we are next in the area. Highly recommend this B&B.

Needed somewhere for an overnight stay on a Saturday in Wymondham whilst visiting family. Not much on offer from an hotel perspective so decided to try B&B. 61 on The Folly had good reviews but as it only has two double rooms advertised I didn’t think there would be availability. Luckily for us Erna (the owner) had a gap in her busy schedule. Communication from the off was excellent via phone, email and text. Directions were easy to follow. The room was in a self contained unit with plenty of space: shower/toilet, kitchenette with fridge, kettle, microwave, toaster, bedroom with double bed and tv and another room with dining table and chairs and a sofa bed if needed. Plenty of space and amenities to cater for a longer stay. Erna had asked what we would like supplied for breakfast and this was put in the fridge ready for the morning. Erna had also put the heating and a light on ready for our arrival in the evening. Great to turn up to a warm cosy place on a cold night! Bed and linen were comfortable so no problem sleeping. Lots of hot water for a shower in the morning. Check in and out and paying processes were easy. Off street allocated parking. Location is great, 5 minutes walk in to the High Street and great transport links in to Norwich if you don’t fancy driving in. Would definitely recommend and go back; you get the hotel experience for a lesser cost and feel well looked after!

We saw such lovely reviews of this accommodation on the Internet that we decided to book straight away. Yhe owner is a lovely lady with nothing too much trouble for her guests, and unlike some owners very quick to reply. We booked her largest apartment which had a kitchenette, shower room, bedroom with large double bed and a lounge plus parking. All beautifully and very tastefully decorated with good quality furnishings and everything you could need for a comfortable holiday/break. She provides a continental breakfast laid out in the kitchenette ready for the next day which saves you going out. Would most definitely recommend this accommodation and owner to anyone and don't think you would be disappointed. This was our first break away since Covid struck and it was lovely so thank you so much and hope to see you again. Sheila & Peter.

B&B Quality suite superbly prepared and presented with care and with comfortable facilities. Great price inclusive of pre-confirmed variable continental breakfast ingredients for preparing as and when you choose. Very high standard of cleanliness in the living area, the bedroom and in a great sized en-suite shower room. Pre-allocated reserved off the road parking space. Full emailed booking and mobile text confirmations include all the details you will need. I will definitely choose to stay here when I have to stay in the Wymondham area again.

This is the second time we have stayed at 61 on Folly when visiting our family and we shall be here again in August. Erna has always made us most welcome and and nothing is too much trouble. The bedroom is comfortable and attractively decorated as is the sitting room. Erna will adapt the heating according to your needs and even though the days were hot the evenings were rather chilly recently and it was nice to come back and find the heating on. The bathroom is well heated too. We also like the kitchen area which allows us to make a cup of tea or make a small snack when we want. It is immaculately clean and you are encouraged to leave dirty footwear outside your door. We really do feel it is like being at home and that is all down to Erna being so welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended indeed!

What a find this bed and breakfast was. The communication with the owner was excellent and prompt. She sent photos of where we would be staying and where to park. She greeted us when we arrived and pointed out our suite.
The suite was immaculate and comprised
of kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and lounge. The whole place was so clean and tastefully decorated. We arrived on a very cold day but the room was lovely and warm as the heating had been put on prior to our arrival.
Breakfast was continental and ordered when we booked. Our order was in kitchen when we arrived and was of a good quality.
Rooms were very quiet, bed and bedding was of good quality and we had a good night's sleep.
Shower was good with plenty of hot water.
An excellent experience would highly recommend

We’ve recently returned home from a very pleasant 4-night stay in the Manhattan Suite at 61 On Folly. Erna was a very attentive host, friendly and helpful, and communicated well from the date of booking to the date of checking out. Prior to arriving Erna sent us details and pictures of where our suite and parking space was. On arrival she introduced herself, and ensured we knew exactly where we had to go. The suite was immaculately clean, warm, cosy and very well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
A lovely continental breakfast is provided in the room with a top-up system via text as and when required, and we were able to choose what we wanted prior to checking in, so it was ready for us when we arrived, along with a personal welcome message.
The Manhattan suite is a self-contained apartment comprising of a shower/toilet, kitchenette with fridge, microwave, kettle, leading on to a bedroom with a comfortable double bed and tv, and another room with dining table and chairs, and a sofa bed, not forgetting the toaster, and an air fryer for warming your croissants. The whole apartment is immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated.
With a private entrance to your accommodation, and on-site secure parking you are free to come and go as you please. The location of 61 On Folly is on a quiet back turning, with a local supermarket a 10-minute walk away. Wymondham town centre is approx. a 15-minute walk, and there are buses close by. It is the perfect location for visiting Wymondham and the local area.
We wouldn’t hesitate in staying at 61 On Folly again, and thoroughly recommend it.
We’ve stayed in many B&B’s over the years, and this one is definitely up there with the best.
