I went there with my Family this December and we had the time of our lives. The place is back to perfect. Clean Facilities and excellent service. The grounds are well kept with easy launching and mooring. Plenty of space for fishing too. The Chalets are perfect for that extra comfort if you are not a camper. My wife and I with two kids stayed under 11 in a chalet and my brother in law and wife stayed on a campsite with wife and teenage kids and friends. Lots of security and plenty for the kids to do while my wife and I enjoyed some "special Time". Well worth the short trip from Johannesburg. They have a well-stocked shop and bar. If you don't feel like cooking then just order ...anything from burgers to pizzas. Thank you to the staff for looking after us and making our stay so enjoyable. Have already booked our next stay. Kind Regards Dennis Nance-Kivell and Family

Absolutely disgusted with the condition of the resort, and the number of day visitors they allow. There was no control over the crowds. There is no regard to the rules stipulated. Loud music at all hours, barbaric behavior and lawlessness prevail while resort securities are unable to control the people. This you will not see at a professional holiday resort. People drunk, disorderly and passed out all over the resort, defecating in the pool, vomiting all over, urinating everywhere. The hot pool is not working. The water pressure is lousy. The dam has little to no water. You cannot launch your boat or fish from these premises. Management continuously making false promises

Nice place, but they need to improve how they process people at the gate it took over an hour to get it and it was only 8 in the morning. Last time I went here they did not allow over crowding, this time it was packed to the max luckily we were in the section where it was nice and quiet away from the crowed .It sucked that on such a hot day we could and would not dare use the pools because it was also unpleasantly packed with day visitors it was not a relaxing environment. at all. It was packed with ratchet youngsters drinking n vomiting everywhere pissing in corners it was very nasty sad sight indeed to see young girls being so trashy.

Awesome Day's racing and fun day out, very very little water in the dam, we did have a good turn out with both racers and spectators, lovely venue for family racers and very kids friendly, will visit again when water levels are up, hope the drought does not continue to much longer,

2 years ago we went there on a family holiday over easter and it was awesome, we decided to go back this year and we were discussed, every night there was music pumping in the bar till round 2 am the pool table had people partying around it till around 2 am which means that they have removed there rules, when the staff was approached about it they were very apologetic and assured it wouldn't happen again but it continued every night, they will not be seeing us again along with out camp group and we are letting SAVA know exactly what happened to assure as many camp groups as possible don't have bad weekends

Lovely friendly resort.Lots to do for all ages.Resort has camping spots and chalets.Prices reasonable. Lovely hot indoor pool, jaccuzzi and hot bar pool,Guest are served their cocktails while lazing in the water. There is cold pools for the brave hearted and a baby pool.Fishing is a must for those whom love throwing in the line and waiting for the big one!Boats allowed on the waters as well.Ablution blocks are well keep. There is a shop on site for most of your general needs.Only request I have is for them to put railings to hold onto while entering the pool as I have serious back problems.Short dirt road leading into resort so please just drive nicely.

I was on a work trip and had my family with me. I wanted a place that they could be safe and have a relaxing time whilst I was away at work. I came across barham Bay and thought I'd give it a try. Getting to the actual resort was very tricky and at first I wondered if I made the correct choice. However whet n we eventually arrived we were taken back by the relaxing and wonderful environment. My 17 month old son loved playing in the gardens and chasing the birds and rabbits. My wife was so pleased and relaxed which gave me enough peace of mind and allowed me to concentrate on my work. A very special thank you to Nikki. Nikki is the resort manager and was very kind to assist me when we struggled to get to the resort and made us feel very welcome when I met her the next morning. I very pleasant, beautiful, tranquil and wonderful place to stay at. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to win bank.
