On a beautifully landscaped site, is a huddle of just 13 A-framed chalets. Holding centre stage is the stunning lagoon pool. The rest of Canopy is devoted to a large grass barbecue area and native trees and shrubs – just the way nature intended.Reflecting the best in relaxed contemporary tropical design, each of the chalets consist of a living/dining area, designer kitchen, bathroom with separate toilet, separate laundry and a loft-style bedroom upstairs. High ceilings add to the wonderful feeling of space and freedom. Ideally suited to two guests, additional guests can be accommodated with the sofa bed. The front veranda enjoys views of the lagoon pool and large landscaped area, while also being screened by native plants for more privacy. Different external colour schemes, that take their inspiration from the National Park backdrop, add an extra flourish of individuality. A green enclave off Yates Street, at the popular Nelly Bay, Canopy offers complete privacy close to everything. Magnetic Harbour, Marina village and the ferry terminal are all less than a kilometre away. The allure of the palm-fringed beach is just a 400 metre stroll down the road. Shops, restaurant, cafes and supermarkets are within easy walking distance.

Had one of the permanent residents not had a couple of horrible little yappy dogs, I would have given a 5 star review. Not sure why dogs would be allowed to live in a complex like this as it’s not in any way suitable for pets. Aside from this, the complex is lovely with a beautiful lagoon style pool in the middle and a grassy bbq area to the side. The chalets are modern and comfortable, equipped with everything you need and all in a central location. Unfortunately I won’t be staying here again because I really feel like those little dogs do ruin the calm atmosphere of Canopy Chalets.

If it’s a quiet and restful time you are seeking avoid Canopy Chalets at all costs. These Chalets are not sound proof at all ... I stayed in one that had two very noisy little dogs living full time next door - they barked every time something passed their door - they also had an internal dog door that made an noise whenever used - sometimes beginning at 4.30am. Their owner seemed oblivious to the noise, to the noise of her own loud TV and her many wind chimes - additionally she also left little plastic bags of dog poo in the sun along the shared driveway - often forgetting to pick them up later. Most unpleasant. Other permanent residents (there are at least 5) played very loud music, drank heavily and on several occasions during my stay used power tools for hours on end. The chalet I stayed in had new security screens fitted which were installed to make the deck into an extra outside living space - but they actually make you feel very enclosed and they reduce what little light gets into the chalet.

We loved the Chalets! There are 13 individual Chalets in this little resort surrounding the beautiful pool and tucked away at the end of a quiet street at Nelly Bay. Just a 5 minute walk to the beach if you needed that also! The Chalets are furnished beautifully with everything you could possibly need. The upstairs level is the bedroom with the most comfy bed. Air conditioning and ceiling fans keep the Chalets cool. The kitchen is equipped with a fabulous array of equipment so if you are cooking you will find all that you would need. There is a selection of movies to watch and also a small library of books if you forgot to bring one. We made use of the outside barbecue area where tables and chairs are also supplied with lighting should you be sitting there at night. There is plenty of parking. Some of the Chalets have permanent residents in them and they were very friendly and welcoming. My only negative comment would be that one of the residents owns 2 dogs which barked every time someone arrived and were also allowed into the pool enclosure and into the pool. Otherwise it was a beautiful place to stay and I can’t wait to return. We stayed in chalet number 12 and that would be my choice again. A heavenly stay! 💕

The chalets are secluded away from the noise of everyday holidayers & tourists. Very clean, quiet, modern chalets. Loved them for couples or small family. My daughter & I loved it. Nelly bay was a stroll down the road to a beautiful quiet beach with crystal clear blue water. Highly recommend for a relaxing break away. Next time we will stay longer.
