Great place to stay in a quiet corner of the Lakes

Had a log cabin break here in half term. Amazing accommodation with an amazing hot tub. The staff were friendly and the setting was beautiful. We were safe during two storms that week even with the trees around us. The only negative is the parking was tight for the cabin and we only had one car. I would return and have discussed so with my family.

Very enjoyable Stay

Been a while since we were there and upgraded accomodation is great. Clean, bright, three wall mounted TVs and good attention to detail with milk in fridge and ice cubes in freezer on arrival. Hot tub not for us but others would really appreciate it. Only thing missing is a leisure centre or fitness room but think that is on its way?

A lovely few days away from it all

We originally booked a Hoseasons lodge at a different location, but due to an issue with the booking we were offered the option of coming here. I’m really pleased we did. The lodge is lovely with views of the mountains and fields. The hot tub and sauna were a great add on. The lodge has everything that you could want for a break away from it all.

DOG AND PARROT FRIENDLY

Yes we brought a dog and a parrot with cage . Had been to this lodge 2years ago and since then it has been freshly painted inside , was clean and comfortable . Very comfortable beds and warm . A couple of things , there was no coffee cafetiere so had to buy one , there was a coffee pod machine and four complimentary pods but no info on what type to buy for the rest of our stay. A hook in the bathroom to hang a dressing gown would be handy . Service was excellent and friendly staff who responded quickly when fault reported. The complex is beaurifully situated surrounded by rolling hills and woodland with views looking west to the coast. Very narrow steep single track road to approach so be carefull . The road surface is almost non existant in places and passing places are provided. Brockwood has onsite pub and restaurant but with recent restrictions best to check what is available. Millom is just 3.8 miles away and has a garage and a Tesco and of course pubs etc. Lots of attractive walks etc surrounding the area and visitor attractions as well as of course the Lakes further north.…

Disappointed, standard not luxury, but quiet location

Disappointed, wouldn't pay full price in the peak periods. The area is nice, has peacocks and is quiet location. The lodge is standard not luxury. It probably was when it was new. The floors were dirty and our feet and socks got black from dirt straight from outset. The hot tub was maintained everyday but it got so hot we were unable to use it and you can't access the temp control as it's locked away. If out of hours no one to deal with it. The temp control went up to 50c, we eventually got them to change it and they turned it down to 38c. god knows what temp it was but I would be concerned if a kid got in their. My partner nearly scoulded herself. The hot water in the lodge wasn't working and there was some strange excuse on the check in information. We told the maintenance they pressed the boost and said they would check later. If there's no hot water later they would change the emersion heater. We got back later there was no hot water. Called the emergency number a different person came and they did the same thing, no hot water came. The next day they said while we were out they would change the emersion heater. We had hot water that night. Then next day no hot water again. They offered us to use another lodge for shower. 100m up the road and raining. One shower didn't work in that lodge either the other the head of the shower kept falling down. Seems like they need to update a few things. They offered us to move but we had lots of things we would need to move and we were on holiday, plus there are issues in the other lodge and didn't have a sauna. They should have fixed the water on the first day. Of 4 nights we had hot water for 1 night or a few hours. The fridge is small and the freezer even smaller so don't expect to get much in it for a week. The sauna was nice and worked well. The decor is nice. Like I said I wouldn't pay full price in peak times. Once we complained politely because none of this was our fault the staff changed towards us and made it feel like it was our fault.…

Many thanks for the review am sorry to hear there was issues with the water and hot tubs, I have spoken to them team involved as you stated the hot water was not working and in the first instance we advice to boost the water which normal re-sets the water. When the duty manager and maintenance person attended they took the boiler to pieces and reset the internal element but as explained if that didn't work it would require a new one. The duty manager offered alternative accommodation and the option of just using the showers / hot water this was on the second night not the forth, this was declined. this was then fixed the following day when the issue was raised again. with regards to the hot tub these are checked daily along with temperature's our hot tubs only go upto 40. Nothing was reported about the hot tub that I can see from the management system. Again we can only apologise for the above issues
