Booked my spa day on 1st august and was very much looking forward to it as I had booked my spa day back in March. When I was on my way there on the morning of my spa date I was called and informed that the therapist phoned in sick and only one person could receive the treatment. Very unhappy with the services as I live far and was already on the way there; no gesture of good will was offered only and ‘apology’ or cancelling and getting a refund which iterates the business does not value their customers. A few minutes later I was able to park my car at services on the motorway and decided to call the spa back and figure out what I was going to do and no body was answering the phone. I called over ten times in the space of half an hour and no body called back or answered the phone. Very disappointed with the service and don’t quite understand why a hotel/spa of this size does not have a back up therapist to cover the sickness of their staff! I finally managed to get through to the spa and when I asked to reschedule I was given a date in October. Again I was very disappointed and whilst expressing my disappointment I was not listened to and the person interrupted and the first thing that was said was “we offered you a refund”. Very very poor service!

We have reserved a club king room, we paid so much for 2 nights, almost £500, but I wouldn’t recommend it, it’s definitely not a 4 star hotel, what a joke 😀, In the restaurant next to the windows(I saw spiders). The swimming pool is not for children under 4, so it’s not a good choice for family trip. There is nothing much you can do. The room is really small and packed. Anyways, I don’t recommend it. We ended up leaving after a day, even tho we paid for 2. Breakfast is not that great, I have been to so many hotels but this one didn’t have many things to choose from.

I visited the spa today having received a voucher from a friend to attend the spa with a treatment and afternoon tea. I had reserved my date with an itinerary weeks ago, however was called yesterday evening to be told that they were a therapist short and therefore our treatment would be moved from 5pm to 10am. Of course, this couldn't be helped however I felt the gentleman I spoke to on the phone could have been more apologetic, and the call was rather brisk with a 'take it or leave it attitude'. As a result neither myself or my mum used the gym, as we didn't want a massage followed by a workout, which was a shame. I have attended the spa 2 years ago and there was definitely greater attention to detail, e.g a form asking where we would like the therapist to focus on, choosing an aromatherapy oil- however this wasn't the case on this occasion. We had previously been told I would share a room with my mum, but upon arrival we were told restrictions were in place, so we had our massage separately. My therapist was lovely and made me feel comfortable for my massage (although it didn't include my head despite being an all body- one of the best parts!) We were taken to the relaxation room after which obviously due to Covid didn't offer refreshments. The beds also could have been turned on so they were warm, rather than having to turn them on ourselves and wait for them to heat. Our email had said we would get a fresh juice upon arrival, however when I required about this, I was told drinks aren't being offered in light of Covid (unsure why). On to the spa facilities, we felt these were clean and enjoyable. At points there were quite a lot lf people in the pool and jacuzzi, but there was enough space to go around. We were thirsty following the steam room and as there are no longer water dispensers, I went to the reception to ask if I could purchase water. I was asked why I didn't receive one after my treatment and felt we were begrudgingly given bottles despite no other option. Generally, the staff seemed like they couldn't really be bothered with anything and were generally engrossed in conversations amongst eachother. The afternoon tea was ultimately shoddy. We waited 20 minutes for it, and when it arrived it was quite a disappointed. 4 small average sandwiches (the best being the chicken and truffle mayo) and 4 substandard desserts which we didn't finish as they weren't impressive. We noticed the couple next to us left without eating theres too. The single scone each most defintely looked shop bought and had just been put through a toaster. There was no tea and coffee menu, again due to Covid. Instead, there was a stack of paper cups, a coffee dispenser, and a jug of tepid milk, to make your own (no sugar). I actually have a trip here again in August which was bought by a friend on offer, however the package we had today is normally £200 which is certainly not worth it. It's a shame, as I had really enjoyed this spa 2 years ago but it hasn't left an impression this time. Part of that is probably due to Covid measures (although they seem rather pointless and what should actually be prioritised due to Covid isn't), however the lack of effort really lets this place down. After the trip I have next month, it's unlikely I'll visit again.

2nd time we have stayed here and it did not disappoint. Hotel rooms are absolutely fine for what we needed (family of 4) very clean and tidy Reception helpful enough. Bar and restaurant are great too - food is spot on & the kids loved the pasta (kids menu could do with a bit more content though - if I'm being picky) Breakfast was superb everyday Mohan and his team are very efficient and helpful - there is always plenty of food on the buffet - it never runs out and the cooked breakfast is very nice. Free 'onsite' parking - which is unheard of in most hotels especially in this part of the country. The swimming pool is perfect the kids loved it ..... didn't use the Spa but it looks nice. Ideal location for us as we were visiting both Legoland and Chessington - its not too far away from these attractions - but just far enough away for the price to stay reasonable. We'll probably be back again next year - and would definitely stay here again.
