We loved our stay at The Coach House!! Fred and Bert were wonderful hosts. We arrived after a grueling road trip in the dark and they welcomed us and what a joy to meet their 3 Frenchies! Our room was beautiful and filled with antiques and collectibles--we could have spent a week looking at the different collections in each room. Our bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. but can I tell you about the breakfast--it was amazing from the cheese course, to the delicious banana bread, the eggs and fresh fruit--all were delicious and the conversation with Fred and Bert and the other guests was interesting and stimulating. Next time we are heading north to Canada and Nova Scotia we will definitely go and stay at The Coach House. Thank you Fred and Bert--Kathy and Mara

Well, this was an experience. If you're like my wife and me, you're willing to go with the flow, to enjoy the moment, and to appreciate the people you're with. And if you're like that, you'll love this place. Fred and Bert, your hosts, are wonderful people. They prepare the most magnificent breakfast that we have ever encountered in a B&B. They'll join you for conversations, if you like, and they are great conversationalists. The bed was most comfortable. The bathroom contained every conceivable amenity. There are lots of comfy places in the common areas to sit. Work if you insist. Talk and dream if you prefer. Yeah, well, I'm an incessant workaholic, so I did the work thing. But, seriously, I could have dreamed if I had set my mind to it. Now, there's some quirks here, of which some folks might want to be aware. Fred and Bert -- God love them -- have covered every horizontal surface (plus every vertical one) with objects they have lovingly collected. Many of the pieces are fascinating. But good luck finding a place to put your belongings. My wife and I finally decided to move some of the stuff aside. I hope Fred and Bert didn't mind. At least they didn't say so. Also, there's the three Frenchies. As it happens, I love dogs and my wife likes them too. I didn't mind at all when Beasley decided that my feet made a comfortable couch. But if you're not similarly inclined, you'll want to ask Fred and Bert to keep the dogs within their confined area. Which they will be happy to do for you. If you're like me, please don't do that. You'll love these three guys. …

Last weekend we had the pleasure of staying an evening at The Coach House in St. Stephen, NB Upon arriving, we were met with a landscape of various beautiful flowers on the walkway leading up to the porch. The Wisteria on the porch only added to the gorgeous colors of the begonias. Once inside, there were so many conversational pieces to be found throughout the house, each group different from the next. The large sitting room was equipped with a working fireplace that gave the room a soft, warm ambience. There was a cozy library on the side of the dining room that shouldn’t be missed. As for the breakfast, it exceeded any expectations we had. We have been to many B & Bs in our 54 years of marriage and this had by far the greatest variety of cheeses, fruits, jams, and breads. There were even freshly baked gf blueberry muffins made, especially for me. All in all The Coach House was a lovely experience on our way to visit our son & daughter-in-law in Queensport NS…

The Coach House offered a charming overnight experience. Visiting with the hosts while having breakfast was the highlight. Breakfast was blueberry pancakes, thick cut bacon, several types of berries and cheeses, toast, jams, juice, coffee, tea. Delicious! Quiet side street within easy walking distance to the water, downtown, many restaurants and shops.

We were delayed and hadn't seen that check- in ended at 10:30pm, When I called, the man with whom I was speaking (I assume one of the "hosts") told me he was closing in five minutes. He made no effort to accommodate us or even suggest alternate lodging and made it clear we were going to pay for the room nonetheless. He had no qualms about leaving two women in the middle of nowhere with no place to stay, saying to me, "I'm not staying up another hour." We were approximately 45 minutes away (my partner drives faster than the man on the phone assumed). I tried to explain our circumstances, but he was nasty and dismissive. We'd booked here because we'd thought it'd be a lovely place to stay, but if the host treats a guest like that, it clearly isn't. Based on other reviews, it seems that we weren't the first to be treated thusly.…

We stumbled upon Fred and Burt's Coach House via an internet search. While their labor of love may not be to all tastes (per other reviews I see here), we all found our stay completely delightful. Their victorian house is indeed filled with art, artifacts, and attitude. I could have spent hours in the Asian-influenced bedroom just looking at the collection. The master suite and bath are all decked out in seaside style, and what I'll call the Victoria bedroom was elaborately styled in period decor. The bathrooms were modern and clean and had ample pressure and hot water making for a great wake-up. The three french bulldogs that live there were kept away from us until we mentioned we all loved dogs, then they came out to play on the ground floor only. So fun. But the real amazement came at breakfast. Our hosts prepared the most sumptuous meal at the formal dining table. One of our group was stupefied in amazement. Homemade, a huge variety, and delicious coffee. We stayed a night in transit from Boston to PEI, and ended up staying again on our way back. Would recommend for anyone who wants some real home hospitality and can roll with a bit of quirkiness and camp.…

oh my gosh. don't stay there. The owner is crazy. I was booking a reservation and asked how far the place was from the US border. He said 2 minutes. Jokingly, I said, "that's too far." The man was offended by the comment, so he wouldn't book me a room, even though I apologized. He said it was his right not to book. What?

Imagine a sweet home filled with antiques and family heirlooms. The Coach House Bed & Breakfast, located in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada fits this description. The B&B is located on a quiet tree-lined residential street, convenient to downtown and the Waterfront and just a few minutes from good restaurants. We stayed at the B&B one night. The hosts Fred and Bert were extremely friendly and helpful. Their lovingly and deliciously prepared breakfast waited for us in the dining room next morning.

This B&B is old, cluttered, dark and stuffy. Our room was so cluttered with old stuff that there was hardly any place to put our stuff. The mattress was on an exposed spring that squeaked every time we moved on it. On the plus side, the bathroom was very modern and clean and Fred and Bert were very friendly and helpful. But because of the condition of the place and the two dogs that roamed free (my wife is afraid of dogs), we couldn't sleep there and we left. I hate writing a negative review but this B&B deserves it.

Great hosts who came out to greet us and made us comfortable. Helped with the luggage and suggested good places to eat dinner. Breakfast was excellent. Great introduction to the Maritime provinces. Kept window open and it was cool and QUIET all night.
