Hi, The room hotel was decent, food was okay and the service for room okay but there are 0 ANTI-COVID measures there no one is wearing a mask not even the staff, the wifi is horrible it always disconnects, flushing the toilet horrible as well.
Don’t even think I can give this hotel one star. This is the 3rd time I’ve been to bulgaria golden sands and I have never felt this way about the place. Firstly, when we arrived to check in we were told the room wouldn’t be ready until 2pm, we had gotten there at 12. Still in our travelling clothes we had to walk around golden sands in 26 degree heat! When we finally got the keys to our room we were highly disappointed! We were put on the 9th floor (meaning we needed to take two lifts that were on the opposite ends of the hotel). The lift looked extremely old and didn’t sound so great. In the first 10 min of being in the hotel we knew we should have just paid an extra £100 and get a nicer hotel. As we got to the room and tried to unlock the door the lock got jammed so we were stood 10 min trying to work out how to open the door. We eventually opened the door however there was a horrible chemical smell, obviously the room had just been cleaned so we were quite happy we had a clean room but the smell was disgusting. As we get settled we notice the air con didn’t work, it would blow for a few seconds then turn off, this was a huge issue. The beds were unbelievably uncomfortable, we asked for 2 more pillows but it took them 2 hours to get us them and when we got them we were approached with a very grumpy cleaner that didn’t understand a word of English. The balcony had a terrible view of a tree which as you can imagine attracts lots of bugs, the balcony light didn’t work , it didn’t look very safe at all so we stayed off it most of the trip. The food was terrible I really don’t know how anybody can make a meal off it. Also the other guests were pushing in, eating as they were collecting their food and picking up the food with their hands even though there was tools provided to pick up the food. We spent half of our ALL INCLUSIVE holiday eating out. The pool is a whole problem it’s self, the staff can’t help it but the other visitors (germans in particular) were extremely loud, rude and are all a bunch sun bed hoggers😂. In the photos it looks like there is a decent amount of sun beds this isn’t the case, there is about 20 to share with 900+ people. If you are English I’d save an extra £100 and get a better hotel and save yourself the suffering. We spent 2 weeks here and was sick on the 3rd day. This hotel doesn’t care about anything but money as they let loose 40+ loud obnoxious students that kept you up all night by playing loud music. We had to move floor because of this but we could still hear the music and the shouting.…
The location of the holtel is great. Food ok if you don't mind queuing! Most of the staff are aggressive and rude. They don't speak hardly any English. Room was basic but clean. No entertainment at all.
We were expecting low quality before we arrived, but these guys managed to surprise us, and not in a good way. Room: small; very smelly (weird smelling chemicals for room cleaning and sewage smell), mold in the bathroom, occasional cleaning of rooms Territory: for such a big hotel the usable public place is tiny, it can't possibly accommodate all the guests unless half of the people are swimming in the pool. Restaurant: the "Star" of the hotel: you've got 500 or so guests staying at the hotel and you have 4 trays of food to feed them all, my best time in the waiting line was 35 minutes (managed to drink 3 cocktails while waiting, wasn't really hungry anymore when I got to the food). The food, most of the time, was bad, stale, junk food (french fries, nuggets). Out of the 10 days there only a few times did they have any decent meals. It's a miracle that no one from our group got food poisoning. Bar: regular all inclusive program - local drinks but not all the spectrum (did not have rum and tequila, which is strange because the local, bulgarian equivalent is very cheap), as for coffee/tea - the usual machine made stuff but you have to search through cups to find clean ones. Personally I loved the constant loud rap music at the lobby bar, but, I assume that the explicit lyrics might not be suited for every guest or age group. The positive sides were the location/distance to the seaside - it took us 4 minutes to get to the beach and that's where we spent most of the time. No children animation. The playground is tiny, (like really tiny) (and right next to a generator - so we kept our kid as far away as possible from that place :) no events, shows, games, entertainment of any kind from the hosts. Oh, yeah, no AC in the hall/dining area - so when you've got 60-70 people in a line, it quickly escalates to a Turkish bath, and I personally do not enjoy smelling other people's sweat before dinner. The place is understaffed - the bartender was also cleaning plates, washing floors. The lifeguard was attending the outside bar for the bartenders frequent cigarette breaks. Our holiday, in general, was decent, the weather was perfect, the beach was good, but can't find any kind words for the hotel. I still love Golden Sands (great climate, very good and healthy sea water - and mineral springs on the southern side of the beachfront), but I'm not coming back here.…
In the bathroom is sometimes horrible smell, towels were changed every 3 days, after all the room is not that bad, bed was comfortable and clean. But I am giving this hotel 2 stars because food variety is very poor. After long waiting in a line for food, you will probably get semi-finished products or meat in a really bad condition. So my final verdict is that this hotel is good for staying but bad for eating.
