Gorgeous, clean self-catering apartment, with everything you need to make your stay a pleasant one. This is seriously a place where I would gladly return to just to recharge my'low batteries'. Our apartment definitely had the best view...just a few meters away from the sea. To fall asleep to the sound of the waves and to wake up to it, is such a privilege. There is no crime in the area. When we got to our apartment, all doors were open. This is in such contrast to what we are used to...burglar bars, alarm systems, locked doors & security gates. The hosts are very friendly as are everyone we met in this small town. I would definitely choose Thornbay Accommodation again.

The drive from Cape Town to Thorn Bay was a long and dusty one, so we were stoked to arrive at this neat little property in the afternoon. The team specifically booked us in the “Bonito” unit which was very dog-friendly for our pups as the gated porch meant that we could relax without locking the dogs indoors. The self-catering amenities were perfect for our stay, and I had no issue with the extensive seaside décor as it added a bit of life to what could otherwise have been a rather bland apartment. The room directly overlooked the bay and the beach below us was nice, although we weren’t brave enough to swim! The team also helped us through to the fish shop next door so that we could pay the balance with our credit card after we stupidly arrived with very little cash on us.

Perfectly situated overlooking the ocean Thornbay accommodation has a real West Coast charm. The accommodation have everything you need in a self catering apartment. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and dolphins decorated walls you will know you are in the very chilled West Coast!

A tranquil getaway destination. The flat (though small) has the mos incredibal view and homey feel. The most spectacular view of the the ocean and lighthouse can be seen and the highlight of our day was watching the sun set on our little balcony.

My partner, a family member and I stayed at Thornbay in Doringbaai recently. My partner and I love the simplicity of Doringbaai and although we do not usually stay over, we have been to this quaint, West Coast town on a few occasions. The view from the coastal road is simply magnificent and will keep us coming back time and again! We stayed in the Marlin unit of Thornbay. The unit was clean. It is a two bedroom, one bathroom unit. The main bedroom has a double bed and a lovely sea view to wake up to. The second bedroom has two single beds. I found the bed, duvet and pillows to be very comfortable. In the (very small) living room, one finds a sleeper couch and a cane chair - the cushions on both are covered with horrific vinyl! There is also a small plastic table which
