Nice stay. The first room we had, the AC Unit stopped working so they let us switch rooms across the hall that made our transfer of things easy. Rooms were clean and had plenty of room. Water pressure was low and almost aggravating. We smelled new paint and/or carpet scent here and there. Staff was nice. Plenty of parking with not many other guests. Quiet area.
We arrived to check in with email confirmation on my phone. Clerk said I was not in their computer and did not have a reservation. She did have a room available but would not honor the price on my confirmation. Don't waste your time here, Microtel Sylva is much newer and even has a pool.
Four of us had been hiking the A.T in August when we called to take our "zero day" at the Microtel. Shelby, was incredible and went WAY above what was asked of her to make our evening the relaxing time we needed. The hotel had just opened the day before and did not have everything restocked for guests and the hot water was not yet circulating through the whole building, but Shelby rushed around finding us quarters for their laundry machines (from her own car, I might add since the hotel hadn't stocked them yet), getting us connected with a local restaurant for dinner, mitigating the hot water issue (We were desperate for that hot shower!), and so much more. The room was beautiful, clean, and inviting after five days on the trail, but Shelby's customer service is what will make us remember the Microtel when we are retelling our adventures on the A.T. Thanks, Shelby, for helping us recharge and resupply! Your story of helping us has already been passed on to a dozen people back home and, hopefully, many more with this review.…
If I could give it no stars I would. We received an email confirmation the day we booked followed by an email the day prior to our arrival stating our room was ready, only to arrive and find the place boarded up closed for health and safety hazards! No refund given!
Booked hotel through Travelocity. Received confirmation and arrived at hotel to find it had been boarded up and abandoned. It is impossible to get Travelocity to return my calls with a live person. Their virtual assistant calls back and puts me on hold for hours then the call drops. I've tried several times to contact them. I will never book with Travelocity again.
