Located right in town within walking distance to shops, restaurants and hiking trails. There is a cute outdoor sitting area with fire pit. Owner is wonderful! She brought us wine glasses as drinking wine from plastic cups is a no no! We would definitely go back!
Coming from New Jersey we were a bit nervous booking a cabin in the woods. No need! This place was a gem! From the warm and friendly greeting by the inn keeper, to the freshly landscaped walkway leading to the cabin, and the rocking chairs on the front porch, we immediately felt at home. The cabin itself was immaculate and smartly decorated to exude the artsy character of the town. Numerous shops and restaurants with live music were within a short walk. Would definitely recommend this as a must stay.
The Inn was very clean and well kept We enjoyed the location being close to the shops and restaurants in Blowing Rock Our check in was very easy and personable. We would recommend this stop for anyone (the price was affordable as well)
Our mountain cabin and the property exceeded our expectations for a short vacation. There was care and thought put into the amenities in the cabin and the landscaping of the property. It is a few minutes drive from Blowing Rock (and you can park in the hotel property lot) and not far from Boone.
A short trip to the beautiful NC mountains for some motorcycle riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway as well as a day at nearby Westglow Spa. A hospitable staff at Mountainaire Inn including innkeepers Jim and Deborah, lead housekeeping Ginger, and other polite and attentive employees. We stayed at the inn; a small space, but very well-kept. The bathroom is pristine. The shower/tub is a ceramic step-over like I remember as a youngster, but the shower walls have been refurbished with a very clean white fiber glass and corner shower-shelving for shampoo, soap, etc. While the property sets close to the main road where regular vehicle and foot traffic pass, it presented no problems for us. In fact, we remarked how quiet it becomes after dark and that what awakened us each morning were singing birds, NOT cars. No coffee maker or refrigerator in our room, but this was not an issue because just steps away in a small space adjacent to check-in we found a nice assortment of coffee and teas....a large urn for the morning and a Keurig out all day for midday/evening coffee-drinkers, and decaf-drinkers like me. Fresh flowers in the beverage area were a special touch as well as half-and-half in the small fridge in the same area. Also in the beverage area we saw a microwave and small individual bags of ice for self-service (ice bucket located in our room.) We felt the inn was quiet and private, yet friendly when we'd see other guests on the porch outside their rooms or in the beverage space. Walking proximity to shops and restaurants on the main street was convenient. There's really no need to move your car once you arrive...but for you motorcycle enthusiasts, definitely get your bike moving on the Blue Ridge Parkway (access to parkway via Hwy. 221 < 2 miles from the inn) for some beautiful scenery and overlooks. Additionally, you will find great "twisties" nearby. Finally, if you are looking for spacious and luxurious lodging try The Breakers Palm Beach; but if you seek the simpler things of lodging...hot coffee, hot showers, fluffy towels, clean fresh sheets, a good night's sleep, good $ rates $, and a staff who lovingly cares for its property and guests with genuine hospitality, then we recommend this hotel. THIS is why Mountainaire has earned a solid five stars. Thank you for a memorable stay.…
