We stayed in the Atlantic Coast Motel for 2 nights in August. Our room was in the back of the motel facing the light house. I was a little hesitant to stay after reading some of the reviews which weren't bad but not great since it is an older motel. I was pleasantly surprised! Our room and bathroom were both very clean. Yes, the motel is older but very well kept. The owners can be seen throughout the day cleaning the pool which by the way was probably larger than pools in most hotels and monitoring the housekeepers. The room had a refrigerator and microwave in the room. There was a small coffee maker with coffee samples and cups. They also offer complimentary toiletries. The towels were plentiful and looked new. They had a laundry area, ice and vending machines. The guest were either older or young families. The location is fantastic, about a block from the ocean. We are planning on our next visit with them. Something else I want to mention is the beds. I slept like a baby. Comfortable beds and quiet at night. I highly recommend.

Booked on a very last minute whim. The price was average for my Sunday-Thursday trip
While a bit dated things were well kept and clean. The pool was excellent.
My room was a double,a little small but doable. The mattress was a bit soft for me but my friend said hers was comfortable. Again I will emphasize just how clean things were. Daily service with nice fresh linens.
If you want modern this is not your spot.
If you want an affordable stay, with just a 3 minute walk to the beach definitely give it a try

The motel is great, very very clean, nice and very comfortable KING bed, Pool area is so nice, chaise lounges with cushions! could have stayed so much longer. Great location, and most of all affordable. I would highly recommend this property. Staff were all so friendly as well!!

THIS IS NOT AN INN! It is a motel, and aside from its location, there is little to recomment it. It might have been fashionable in the last century, but by today's standards it is basic, bordering on shabby, and vastly over-priced in terms of what else is available.

I stayed here June 20, 2015. Upon arriving there was a dirty wash cloth hanging in shower. Man from front desk came and took the washcloth stating sorry about that and never offered to send housekeeping. I was staying with my 80 year old grandmother who has health Issues and has stayed here plenty of times in the past with no issues so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Around 12:30a I was laying in bed and felt something on me, I smacked my arm and there was blood. I jumped out of bed and noticed multiple bugs crawling all over the bed and small red colored bugs on the pillow. I pulled back the covers and there were bed bugs everywhere. The pillow I was leaning against bad bugs scurrying all over. When pulling up sheet there was a nest of beg bugs on the side of the bed. This was in room 112 the bed next to the wall. The lady at the front desk said there was nothing she could do and called the manager who told her he would handle it in to morning. They did not care at all. She states the health inspector must have missed that room. The nest of bugs was huge with bed bugs of all stages. I now have to worry about brining them home with me as I was laying in a bed bug nest. I feel so dirty. My lawyer is getting involved as the owner acted like it was no big deal.

We stayed at this hotel and had to leave a day early because the room smells made us sick. The room reeked of cigarette smoke and mildew. The bathroom was covered with mold and the floors were sticky and filthy. I do not know if all of the rooms are like this but stay away from room 116.

The room was clean, which is a BIG plus, but the bed was dipping to one side. The sheets were soft, but quite worn. The toilet bowl had stains in it and everything needs to be updated, but for 2 nights it was fine. My biggest complaint is that the water coming out of the shower head smelled rusty and my hair smelled of rust until I washed it when I got back home. If you're trying to save money and don't have high expectations, this motel will do. We were in room 140. It was what I would expect from a motel.

Being in the motel business myself in a similar type of town I am very paticular about where my girlfriend and I stay. First off is the employees of the Inn, they are so polite and helpful made us feel right at home and anything I asked for they were willing to give (iron, ironingboard, extra ice bucket, and even the hard cover book of the area provided in the rooms!!!) The maids were also just as polite and did an excellent job for the maid service. Second is the cleanlinesss, as I mentioned before I work for a Motel and that is a #1 priority, it is so hard to find a place these days that takes care of their rooms and keeps them spotless and the rooms here were more then spotless they were imaculate! Third is the location of the Inn, talk about primetime as far as convience you can't get any better, located on the Maryland border we used the shuttle bus all the time to travel to Ocean City MD which only costs $3.00 to ride all day and the first pick up point is only two short blocks from the Inn. We did'nt move the car once until we left because everything is one or two blocks from the Inn (breakfast, dinner, mini golf, ice cream etc..). A gorgeous beach is also one short block from the Inn. Fourth is the prices, totally reasonable for the area and the atmosphere you can't beat it! Last but not least is the pool, it is enormous and nice and warm you could spend the whole day just at the pool soooo nice!!!! To sum it all it up there is no other place to stay, the Inn is so comfortable and the staff is A class if your planning on traveling to Fenwick Island and are looking for paradise this is the place!!!!! Thank you Atlantic Coast Inn you guys are the best!!!!

I have not stayed at this hotel. However, I made reservations for a week-end in July. We were going with other people and I needed to check with them. The reservations clerk, who might have been the owner, urged me to make my reservations in case they booked up. I asked about the cancellation policy since I knew that I might need to cancel and he told me that as long as I cancelled at least 9 days in advance of the reservation there would be no charge. I checked again and asked him if there was any cancellation charge and he said emphatically no.
I cancelled the reservation 4 days later, way in advance of my due date and at that time he told me that there would be a $30 charge per room per night. When I reminded him that I had specifically asked about this before making the reservation he told me that he had mentioned this fee when I made the reservation. Since this is a he-said/she-said situation I don't think I have any recourse but I certainly will not consider staying there.
This is an older facility and I asked questions about mold, etc. Since I was duped about the cancellation fee, I don't trust that I wasn't duped about my other questions.

My girlfriend and I stayed here thinking it would be a decent place to stay for the price. It is pretty obvious that the owners of this place do not put any money back into it. We checked in before dinner time and noticed that the room was very warm so I turned on the AC unit to full blast expecting to come back to a nice cool room. After a night out on the town and looking forward to a good night's sleep we came back to a hot humid room. The AC was obviously very old and out dated as was the rest of the room. I can deal with a tacky interior for a decent price but a hot humid room with no AC in August is not cool. The manager did nothing but argue with me the next during checkout, as if he had no responsibilty for his AC units! I would totally spend an extra $20 to stay at a place that was a lot cooler and had a friendly understanding manager.

Response from reid c, Owner at Atlantic Coast Inn
Responded 19 Aug 2012
We are very sorry that this guest was unhappy with his stay. Although we try and keep our property is the best possible condition, things do go wrong. Unfortunately, the guest did not inform us that his a/c unit was not working until the morning of his check-out at 11:00 am. We could have easily rectified the a/c problem had he only picked up the phone and informed our 24 hour desk staff. We have spare units at the ready for just this type of situation. We also had several other empty rooms we could have upgraded him to if he had only spoken up. We also credited his girlfriend's credit card for $50.00 in order to try and make it up to her.
