My wife and I had a nice 3 day stay at Hudson Manor B&B this past week. The owner Jim was very helpful with pre-trip details and local attractions in the surrounding area. Breakfast was amazing and Jim and family were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again for sure.
My girlfriend and I stayed at our first bed and breakfast at the Hudson Manor this past weekend. Our expectations were pleasantly exceeded. The owner, Jim, was very welcoming from our initial meeting to our departure. We were there for two nights and both breakfasts were delicious, filling, and beautifully presented. Jim treated us like long time friends. We had a nice size room with a bathroom. The view from the house overlooked Seneca lake. It was also in walking distance to downtown Watkins Glen. We look forward to returning in the future.
This establishment is kept beautifully and offers a view of Lake Seneca. The proprietor, Jim and his family are spectacular hosts and were able to accommodate every need and advised on local places to go. The rooms were clean and well serviced. Despite the fact that this B&B was booked solid, you couldn't hear anything from nearby rooms. The included breakfasts were delicious and the kitchen was great, although we ate out every night. My favorite part of this establishment was the front porch complete with rocking chairs, chaises and comfortable couches. In the evenings we sat and shared drinks with the other occupants who were some of the nicest people I have ever met anywhere. It is an easy walk into Watkins Glen from the front door and we went to several restaurants in town. It is an easy drive around the lake and several wineries are easily reached from here. Watkins Glen State Park is in walking distance of Jim's front door. This offered us one of our most relaxing stays with no hassles at all. We travelled during Covid restrictions in NY State and felt safe at every moment except when we went to Corning to the museum - many unmasked people with no distancing. The wineries and other attractions were much more mindful of masking. We dined at several restaurants but three deserve special mention. Stonecat on the other side of the lake had a spectacular view of the lake at sunset and divine food. Our waitress, Natalie, was a blast. The food was abundant and delicious. I'd go again if I am in the area. Ports offered the most refined meal but one appetizer stood out - the Gopchang cauliflower. The ambiance was great and other people we advised during this trip thought it was fantastic also. Finally, in town, for the tapas fan was Grafts. It was cordial, lively and the food was excellent. Our server was also a professor at SUNY Corning! She was perfect and knew her stuff. One last word, there were cheese tastings which were disappointing - not an upstate NY strong suit.…
My wife and I LOVED Hudson Manor. Jim is a fantastic host in every respect. He went out of his way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Our room was large and very comfortable. My wife especially enjoyed the outside deck, where she could read and enjoy some sun. We would not hesitate to stay at Hudson Manor again if we return to Watkins Glen. Thank you for everything, Jim. We really appreciate it.
Our hosts Kristine and Jim made our stay a wonderful one, we liked it so much that before leaving we made our reservation for next year. Beautiful place, amazing views of the Seneca Lake, delicious bfasts & new friendships!!!
