A charming lodge with a beautiful setting. We only stayed the one night & on reflection should of stayed 2. It’s set in a beautiful, lush area with plenty of animals to view close by on the game drives. It’s famous for the tree climbing lions which we didn’t see yet weren’t disappointed as we saw so much in the one day we spent there. The sundowners & bush breakfast were are a really nice touch with postcard outlooks.
A superb camp nicely tucked in deep INSIDE the national park, and on the banks of a small rivulet. The staff are very courteous and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The tent we had was right next to the river with a neat sitout for enjoying the morning cuppa in serenity. Small touches like hot water for shower and a complimentary Sherry wine for a nightcap added to the luxury.
My only regret about this place is that we had only arranged for one night’s stay. The staff was attentive and warm. There were a lot of extra special touches, like the brandy waiting in our room after dinner and the coffee delivered exactly at the time requested in the morning. Or the concern that all was ok when we didn’t use our hot shower water right away, and when I accidentally stepped on some safari ants. And the laughter at dinner as we tried to pronounce the local names for the food we were enjoying. The property was beautiful and well-maintained. Excellent amenities in the rooms. Our room apparently also came with a vervet monkey that danced and played next to our veranda for our entertainment. We also enjoyed watching the Cape buffalo literally float past our room in the river (which also doubled as a natural white noise machine at night). If I could do it again I’d plan on a longer visit.…
Tented camps, for us, are amazing ways to truly experience the outdoors in Africa. This camp has a wonderful staff, very comfortable large tents and is right in the park, allowing quick access to game drives. Main tent is well placed and comfortable. Food was very good. Wifi did not work during our stay, which was fine. This was about looking at a campfire, the river, the water buffalo and Henry the hippo. We only did one game drive and did not see the climbing lions (they climb to get away from the flies, and we had some rain which kept the flies down). Greatly enjoyed the experience and the GM (Gabriel) was really helpful.
We stayed a night in this wonderful camp and wished we were there longer. The tents were very comfortable with the soft beds and a hot bush shower :). The food was excellent and the staff - extremely friendly and attentive. After dark they had a bonfire at the river bank - excellent place to contemplate the natural beauty of the place. In the morning the Vervet monkeys performed for us jumping on the lawn and the trees, and the buffalo-in-residence was wallowing in the river right in front of us. Highly recommend this place for visiting Queen Elizabeth Park.
