After quite an exhilarating drive up the mountains, in the dark, fog and rain we woke up the next day in a beautiful spot. Rooms are very spacious, clean with good hot showers and we had a lovely balcony overlooking the hills. The restaurant was also very good, with tea and coffee available all day. Staff was very polite and helpful. The lady at the reception was very helpful in organising trips and staff even cleaned our car and shoes. It is perfect accommodation for gorilla tracking. Please also take some time to learn about the people living on the edges of the forest. After leaving, we realized we forgot our iPad in our room. After calling the lodge, they sent it with the next staff member leaving for Kampala and she dropped it off at our friend's house on our request. Now that's service! We highly recommend this place.

My husband and I were very pleased to stay at Rushaga Gorilla Camp, booked by our awesome guide at Rangeland Safaris.

The road to the lodge was a bit scary (it was rainy, there were no guard rails and there were lots of bumps but by our return, that didn’t bother me anymore. This is just life in the bush!)

From our first interaction with Dorothy at reception who welcomed us with fruit juice and hot towels to our dining room staff, Benjamin, who made sure we had what we needed (including our packed lunch for gorilla trekking), we had a warm feeling.

As Americans, we wanted to learn about Africa and specifically, life in Uganda. Benjamin was patient with us and he answered all of our questions about the community where he lives. He is an excellent representative for the lodge and for his people. It’s not often that we leave a hotel wanting to take a photo with those who served us but in this case we did!

We also took a picture with the dancers who provided us with entertainment two different nights and allowed for us to buy some of their handicraft.

We found the rooms very comfortable and exceptionally clean but a bit noisy when the guests in the next room were there. Otherwise we woke with full belly’s from the buffet served the night before and unobstructed sunrises and birds chirping. We can’t wait to go back!

Oh! And for some R&R, if you have time, go for an African massage with Justina. She was very good and didn’t require an appointment. It was first come-first serve, and that flexibility was nice as we didn’t know when we’d return from our trek.

We spent 2 nights here for our gorilla trek. What an awesome place his is, the rooms was spacious with a balcony and great views of Bwindi, we felt we could almost touch it was so close, the bathroom was huge and all accommodation was scrupulously clean. The food and hospitality also excellent, my only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. We loved it here and highly recommend.

I recently stayed at Rushaga during a 12 day trip through Uganda. It was one of the most beautiful places I've stayed in all of my years of traveling.

The rooms are absolutely stunning and overlook panoramic views of the forest. It is very quiet and feels like you're all by yourself with a beautiful balcony and modern bathroom. Wifi is available in common areas and the foot and staff in the restaurants are wonderful.

Views from the restaurant overlook the whole forest and give epic sunrise and sunset views and are super relaxing. There is a beautiful pool on the property as well but unfortunately it was drained during our stay.

I would absolutely stay here again and will be recommending it to all my friends who are traveling in the area.

We had a nice tented room with a great shower and balcony although I am not sure if the tent concept is suitable as sometimes it can get very noisy at night because of drunk local people. The location is great, very close to the Gorilla tracking and the two managers are very friendly. What we did not like at this place was the atmosphere in the dining room; very crowded and with a cheap package tourist feeling. Food was between good and not nice. Some of the waiters didn't seem to be trained well as they were rather unfriendly. Breakfast somehow came across as stingy as they wouldn't let us order what we liked (they considered the combination of ordering those two particuliar dishes as not possible) and e.g. just served a tiny glass of fruit juice (and not every morning). I would not stay there again.

We spent three nights in Rushaga Gorilla camp. The location of the camp is excellent, close to the headquarter of Rushaga rangers where the briefing for gorillas trekking take palce.
The lodge has a wonderful view on the moutains of Bwindi impenetrable forest.
The room was well equipped and clean. The beds are comfortable. We had a balcony with a fantastic, panoramic view on the moutains of Bwindi impenetrable forest!!!
The restaurant is on a terrace, with very fine view on the garden and moutains of Bwindi impenetrable forest. The food is delicious.
Excellent hospitality of the staff.
I 'll come back with pleasure!

Perfectly located if you're going for gorilla tracking (few minutes drive from the park authorities where you have to report before going to the morning gorilla trek). It's hard to get there without 4x4 car (must be difficult especially in rainy season). Accommodation is great. Clean, staff very friendly and management supporting local communities. Basic breakfasts, good lunch and very good dinners (buffet).
You are surrounded by hills, forests, birds. Sometimes there are challenges with hot water (shower) but maybe it was only me. After trekking the hotel staff can help you to clean your shoes (well, my trekking shoes were never so clean after they clean it for me). Every evening at 6pm women from local community perform dances and sell their local well made art craft.
It's worth to support them and it's worth to tip staff as they really work hard and thanks to them also gorillas have peaceful life :)
Accommodation is good price for money.

We stayed at the Rushaga camp for 2 nights and had an amazing stay at this remote location and yet the camp is only a 3 minutes drive from the gate to the park. The rooms are cosy and clean and have incredible views to forest and farmland.
The staff was always very serviceminded and supportive; thankx for for preparing hot water bottles for our beds to keep us warm (nights were quite chilly) . The food at the restaurant was delicious too. We highly recommend a stay here!

The room looks beautiful and spacious with a nice rain shower. There is a balcony to watch the forest from (you can also watch the view from the bathroom). In the evening it got a bit colder and I was provided with a water bottle for my bed which stayed warm the whole night. The food I had was very nice and a lot. The place is very conveniently located for gorilla trekking. There is wifi available at the restaurant and electricity is provided with a generator which is turned off at night. I did hear some voices at night from the local community but it did not bother me. I enjoyed my night here!

We stayed at the Rushaga camp for 2 nights and it was an amazing stay. The rooms have incredible views right into the impenetrable forest and are very cozy and clean. We were surprised by the constant availability of warm water and electricity despite the remote location of the camp. The staff was always very nice and supportive and they always prepared some hot water bottles for us and placed them on the bed to keep the bed cozy and warm (nights can get quite chilly in Bwindi). The food at the restaurant was delicious too. Moreover, the camp is only a 3 minutes drive from the gate to the park. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Hi, do the rooms have blow dryers in the room or can you ask for one. Don’t want to pack mine. Thanks.

Dear Libby? Thanks for your question. Unfortunately Rushaga Gorilla Camp does not offer blow dryers in the rooms and neither can you ask for one. Management has been notified about your enquiry and hopefully attempts will be made soon to provide this necessary item for the convenience of guests accordingly. Safe travels!
