On account of previous good reviews we decided to visit Asanja Ndembo Lodge in August 2021. Everything they mentioned is true and more. The location of the lodge is remote and some described it as a negative, but we loved the remoteness as you really connect with nature! The dining/lounge/bar area plus all the rooms overlooks the Ruaha river! Also its a small lodge with only 8 luxury rooms, so even on full capacity it will never be overcrowded! The rooms are just perfectly designed, its huge with a sitting/lounge area and blends in with nature luxuriously on every level. Each room has a splash pool on the verandah. The food was fantastic and delicious. The staff , Kelly, Naomi, Pascal, Rafael and our guide Emu did an outstanding job. They were all very knowledgeable, friendly and helped us in every way! We had lions roaring every night at the lodge, elephants in the river in front of the camp as well as Jackal and Hyenas around the camp each night. From the ice cold “freshen-up” towels given to you after each game drive as you stop at the entrance to the homemade biscuits in the rooms to the Wild Earth amenities in your bathroom, Asanja Ndembo Lodge spoils you from beginning to end! A must visit lodge!

This was our second trip to Asanja Ndemo on the banks of the Ruaha river. The location of the camp is excellent and you can see wildlife coming to the river all day. The rooms are huge and tastefully done. The camp staff are amazing and the management is welcoming and professional. Besides the amazing experience the highlight of the trip was the delicious food by far the best I have eaten at a wildlife camp. We visited in a group with young kids they enjoyed every moment of this holiday.
Will definitely go back. Highly recommended.

This camp is out of this world, from the moment we arrived we were welcomed by all the staff and I can honestly say that each and everyone of them made our stay special.
The accommodation is first class and well maintained and clean, from our room we were looking down on the riverbed and observing elephants, impala, baboons and other animals as they wondered by, on our second day we were even stopped from getting to our room by an elephant eating the tree just outside, this was soon moved on by Raphael our Masi Warrior and other team members, although it did return later when I was taking an outside shower and the elephant was the other side of the wall, a brilliant experience and still completely safe.
We went on game drives every day with our guide/camp manager Prosper and driver Mpili, We have been on other safari's in the past but never met anyone as good as this pair for tracking and spotting animals, we lost count of the amount of lions we saw including two leopards, hippo's, giraffes, zebra's, buffalo, crocodiles and all the other types of animals you could think of. We were also taught of other life in the bush and it's landscape.
Back at the camp our room and laundry was expertly done by Yasin.
Looking after us at meal times and when we required a drink or two were Allipius, Pascal and Kelly and at breakfast time always a warm welcome from Hamis who looked after the pool.
The food was always of a very high standard and this was with special thanks to Rajabu, Leonard and Godfrey.
I feel I needed to mention the team at this lovely camp because it is down to them that we had a holiday to remember.
On our last evening in camp they arranged for us to have a secluded table looking over beautiful open countryside under a canopy of lanterns to celebrate our 36th anniversary, after our meal the entire staff came around us singing and dancing and presented us with a lovely cake which we all enjoyed together, you could honestly tell from their manor and smiles that this was not just a job but showing their happiness at being with us.

This camp is just amazing. The location was mind blowing, the food jaw dropping and the service heart warming. My wife and I had the best time with the Asanja Ruaha team. Ono, Bacari, Kash and the rest of the gang made sure we always felt pampered and satisfied. One of the best places I've ever been to and for sure the best place to finish our safari. Thank you.

Asanja Ndembo, a precious jewel in Ruaha National Park! This luxury camp is a dream come true with all the amenities that one can imagine but it is still one with its surroundings. The humongous, well ventilated rooms with plunge pools overlooking the mighty Ruaha river, the delightful bar and mess area, the riverside bonfire lit up with dancing lanterns are proof of the attention to detail that makes the Camp one of a kind. Amazing service, friendly and helpful staff and overall a great management team made our 6 day stay unforgettable. We cant wait to go back! Team Asanja asante sana!

This place is a dream come true. The location is surreal, looking over the river where wild animals come to drink, and the quality and taste with which bungalows and common areas have been built is equally impressive. The staff is very helpful, efficient and smiling and the food is lovely. This is a one of a kind place that is worth staying at at least once in a lifetime.

They knew who we were and the reception was warm and touching. The lodge is located by the Ruaha river, some of our favorite wildlife encounters and sightings were right at the camp thanks to its location on the river.
The rooms are big and comfortable, sleeping with all the fresh air felt so good, and the food was delicious and plentiful.
We were so happy we came to Ruaha instead of the Serengeti. We saw only a handful of other cars each day and most animal encounters were all to ourselves. Sam, our guide, is an encyclopedia. He knew everything about the animals from social and eating habits, gestation periods and lifespans. We went on a walking safari and that was amazing, wish we had more of this.
We loved getting to know everyone on the staff--they are all incredibly kind, dedicated and thoughtful people. It's not an easy job living in the bush, being away from families for weeks at a time, but it really felt like they've created their own family at Asanja, and we were so happy to be part of it for a short while.

It is not often that Linda cries on holiday, but meeting the staff at the lodge was touching and real.

M y stay at Asanja Ruaha was nothing short of spectacular. The attention to detail in the room design, including the mesmerizing blue plunge pool, created an ambiance of luxury and comfort that exceeded my expectations.

Waking up each morning to the breathtaking view of the river just in front of the camp was a highlight of my trip. The sight of animals strolling by in their natural habitat was awe-inspiring and gave me a true sense of being immersed in the wilderness.

Now, let's talk about the food. It was an absolute culinary delight! Every meal was a gastronomic adventure, with flavors that danced on my taste buds. The chefs at Asanja Ruaha have mastered the art of combining local ingredients to create dishes that are not only delicious but also a reflection of the region's rich culinary heritage.

However, what truly set this camp apart was the exceptional staff. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care for the guests made me feel like a welcomed member of their extended family. Whether it was sharing stories around the campfire or receiving expert guidance during game drives, their dedication to ensuring an unforgettable experience was evident at every turn.

Asanja Ruaha is more than just a camp; it's a gateway to an extraordinary adventure in one of Africa's most iconic national parks. I left with a heart full of gratitude and a longing to return to this hidden gem in Ruaha National Park. It's a place where the beauty of nature, the pleasures of fine dining, and the warmth of hospitality converge to create memories that will last a lifetime.

The location and accommodation was breath taking. We really enjoyed the rooms and how we could view elephants from our private pool and patio. The staff was fantastic they were always available and they really went out of their way to look after us. The camp organized a wonderful safari for us and we saw 3 lions and tons of game. The food was great, it was served by the river and we really enjoyed the night time fire and lantern canopy. I would highly recommend this lodge- it’s far but we’ll worth the drive. I would go for 2 days and really soak in the scenery and enjoy all that the lodge has to offer.

From our camp dining table, we saw baboons, elephants, impala, water bucks, greater kudos and other animals. At night, we listened to a lion chuffing just a few feet from our screened sleeping quarters (and my wife actually saw the lion racing through the bushes during the day). The food was exquisite! The entire staff was so kind, friendly and accessible. The rooms were large, modern, well furnished and clean, as well as designed for us to view the surroundings. Each room has it's own wading pool to help keep you cool. Our safari guide and the camp manager were knowledgeable about the animals and their habits, and also the plants and insects.
