I don't normally write reviews on here but felt after my experience in September at this beautiful little camp it warranted a double thumbs up. Everything is so well thought out. The staff take on board every wish and concern. Truly personal service and every guest is given a unique experience tailored to their requirements. You feel like you have joined an extended family. The camp is on a hilltop with beautiful views and far away from other camps. Our guide, Geofry was very experienced and his knowledge regarding the environment, birds and animals was first rate. Tommy, Chevy and their team made our experience a once in a lifetime one and my friend had a birthday which was well and truly celebrated in true Swahili style!

Ikuka is located at a fantastic vantage point on a hill. The view from our camp was exhilarating…..it was like a giant cinema screen facing us! Tent 6 was by far the most magical place we’ve ever been to. It has its own little pool and we thoroughly enjoyed splashing about in the midst of nature. Mark chloe Tom and every single person at the camp including saahil , made our stay comfortable and memorable. Great service great food and absolutely wonderful game drives with our knowledgeable guide mustapha…. This is not a park with very concentrated wildlife like the Serengeti or maasai mara, but it’s a wonderful terrain for a different kind of safari experience; especially for a safari enthusiast. To watch bat eared fox cubs, a herd of buffaloes and lions lazing in the evening, made our drives exciting. Troy from true africa recommended ruaha national park and ikuka camp and we are thankful to him for his suggestions. All in all a a great experience. Go for it!

Our first time on safari and feel we struck gold. The camp was absolutely beautiful and we were so well looked after by the exceptional staff. We lucked out by having the kids in the gorgeous family lodge while we were in the Honeymoon lodge at the opposite ends of the camp (both with plunge pools and stunning views). Food was incredible - we particularly enjoyed the quaint way the menu was announced! And Giles’s Masai spear demonstration was a gas! Habibu was the perfect guide for our family and the game viewing exceeded all expectations. We wholeheartedly recommend Ikuka for those looking for a warm and welcoming, luxury experience.

We could not have asked for a better start to our first holiday in Tanzania. Ikuka was a fantastic place to stay on so many levels. Our accommodation was stunning with a stupendous view, the food absolutely delicious and there was a lovely relaxed, convivial atmosphere. The attention to detail was extremely impressive as was the enthusiasm and professionalism of the staff. We saw a fantastic range of wildlife on the game drives and it was great to have the opportunity to do a foot safari as well. A massive thank you to Tommy, our guide Geoffrey and the rest of the Ikuka team for giving us so many wonderful memories to take home!

Wow - what a way to start our honeymoon! We couldn't fault a single thing Ikuka had to offer. Aside from the breathtaking location and views, sundowner sunsets and extremely knowledgeable tour guide (Habibu <3), the hotel and the whole team was outstanding and the food (really) blew us away.
We don't normally vow to go back to places for a second time as we want to explore as many places as possible, but for Ikuka we would go back in a heartbeat.
THANK YOU!!

We went as a family of six to Ikuka on a dream safari. The physical location and facilities of Ikuka are spectacular. What makes it even better are the staff. Everything runs like clockwork. Food is amazing. Lilly makes you feel at home. Festor as a guide was knowledgable, patient, and taught us a great deal of the game and birds. I cannot imagine a better experience. We were there February 2020 and the brilliant green folliage due to the rain added to the experience while still allowing us to experience an abundance of game. I recommend Ikuka and its staff to all!

From the moment you are picked up from the airstrip the game viewing starts. You get a warm welcome on arrival and the accomodation is absolutely stunning. No detail is overlooked in the camp or out on safari.
The food was fantastic, service is brilliant without being overbearing and nothing is too much trouble.
We did a walking safari which ended with breakfast in the bush which was amazing.
The game drives were different every day and our wonderful guide Habi could spot the big to the small and was extremely knowledgable.
Tommy and Chevy was also on hand to see how our day had gone and if we needed anything.
This seamless service looks effortless but is really hard work. The whole team make it look easy. Thank you all.
Next time a honey badger!

Don't miss visiting Ruaha and you simply must stay at Ikuka when you do. We are already planning our next visit. Geoffrey was such an important part of this experience.... a terrific guide and such a kind person. Tommy was such a help to us and taught us about many of the birds around the camp. Also gave us a "back stage tour." It's amazing how this gems tucked in far away places make everything work seamlessly. Seif and Davis made every meal a pleasure. And our room....oh my goodness!

Thank you for making this trip of a lifetime such a wonderful adventure.

This camp is everything you could ever possibly dream about when it comes to having a sensational African safari experience. In fact everything exceeded our expectations - a real 'Out of Africa' sensation. Each tent was wonderfully equipped and offered magnificent views from the escarpment on which the camp was located. The quality of the cuisine was sublime, the staff were exceptional and our guide 'Joffrey' was fantastic all round. His knowledge seemed to know no bounds about the fauna and flora, and even taught us to be read animal tracks! I have no doubt that all the guides provided by the camp are equal to this, but Joffrey was our guide and he was superb. Tommy and Chevy who run the whole operation were at the top of their game and made us feel very special, as I'm sure they do to every guest who is fortunate enough to pass through the Ikuka Safari Camp.

We spent 4 wonderful nights at Ikuka. The most beautiful lodge with outstanding rooms, views to die for and most important of all the most welcoming, friendly and kind people. Habib - our guide - was magnificent in every way. Such huge knowledge, patience, enthusiasm and all accompanied with an enormous sense of humour. We loved finding some truly wonderful birds - the boys so beautifully “dressed to impress”!! The variety of terrain, vegetation, birds and animals was mind boggling. We feel incredibly lucky to have spent some time at Ikuka, no hesitation in giving 10/10!
