Makali Lodge is a really beautiful oasis just a few kilometers outside the Ruaha National Park. The staff was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable directly from the beginning. We were offered the dinner of our life outside in the beautiful garden in the middle of the wildlife and under the bright shining stars. During the day you can relax from your Safari Drive on the wooden terrace overlooking the national park. Ruaha is probably the most authentic and diverse national park in Tanzania and it will surely give you the real Safari feeling. Mabati Lodge brought us in contact with a very knowleadgable and passionate guide and we enjoyed the experience very much.

Thank you very much for the unforgettable experience! We will definitely come back one day.

Greetings from Munich, Germany

Fabian

The staff is the best experience of this Lodge very friendly. The place is not being maintained half build things lying around everywhere. We stayed for 3 days and on the first day the cold drinks ran out. There were no cold drinks either everything was hot. You only have power from 6-10pm. Nothing to do the lodge is in very poor state. Food was ok and staff very friendly. Misleading advertising as luxurious lodge. It is on the bottom scale of basic. Over priced and no value for money. Arranged a safari to ruaha the guide was again good but the car very bad and again way over priced for the quality

The Mabata Makali lodge is located 1-2 km outside of the Ruaha national park in the middle of nature. However, you must drive about 30 km till the gate. Due to the vicinity of the national park, you can sometimes see animals on your way to/from the gate already. We saw a giraffe, impala, baboons and a 2m cobra.
Pos:
The food was very good. The lodges are large with comfortable beds and nice bathroom. The staff was incredible. They were very friendly and helpful. For example, we asked for laundry service and they told us that they would do it for free.
Neg:
Wi-Fi is only available in the main building and was not very reliable.

The service was excellent, the staff at mabata where so friendly, attentive and readily available at any time. The campsite and cottages where comfy, clean and very calm. The location of Mabata is a perfect gateaway from the city to a much more calm place to connect with nature. Also there is a swimming pool, which was hard to find in Iringa. The food was so organic, fresh and so delicious. We had a forest walk with a maasai, and we were surprised with lunch set on a dry river in the middle of the forest, it was so lovely and breathtaking. I felt secure at most times, as there was attentive security measures.
It is a very beautiful place, for vacation.

Mabata makali is amazing. Their customer service is of the next level, I felt like the staff there knew me. The food was so organic, fresh and so delicious. The accommodation was so comfy from the camping site to the cottages. I would totally visit mabata makali again. And there is a swimming pool, which was hard to find in Iringa. Its a perfect place for a gateaway and connecting with nature and thyself.
