We loved our stay at Windmill Farm, the view was stunning and the units were well serviced and very comfortable. Very Close to Royal Natal and other sight seeing points. But we stayed the one day just at Windmill Farm took a nice walk and sit at the fire enjoying the view
Book Windmill Farm when you feel you need to unwind and then reboot. The views are breathtaking. Bongi was our host for the weekend. Super kind and friendly. She made every effort to make us comfortable and relaxed. There is a restaurant and mini shop on site. They don't sell perishables like bread, rolls etc but they bake delicious muffins and carrot cakes. I would definitely go back just for the views.
Lovely place, we really enjoyed our stay. There was an issue with a burst water pipe shortly after we arrived which Bongiwe immediately tried to resolve. She assigned us to another unit (which was actually an upgrade as it was larger than the original unit). Later the same evening we found there was no hot water in this unit. Bongiwe again assisted immediately and gave us the option to move again or use the bath or shower of another close-by unit. We chose the second option as it was not that inconvenient. In the end even the fee for the 2 nights was paid back. I want to commend Bongiwe for her friendliness and efforts to resolve the issues (which were beyond her control) to keep the guests happy. Well done!
The only relatively small but significant problem given the unusually rainy weather was the absence of a gutter over the entrance to the veranda, This meant that we were doused by a cold shower whenever we entered or exited the building. The negative slope of the veranda allowing water to run into the cottage did not trouble us but it could make the tiles slippery for wearers of slops etc leading to injury. A gutter would likely be an inexpensive option that will mitigate both these problems. That said we had a delightful stay with all the facilities we needed. Thank you.
Lovely location and nice house layout. We really missed having a patio to view the mountains around us. We were located in Cottage 10 which seemed to have a damp problem. Some of the lights in the house weren't working, notably those in the scullery which made washing dishes problematic (luckily we had headlamps). Some of the furniture needed cleaning. One of the single beds had a big dip in the middle which was not ideal.
Unfortunately our stay was too short! The rooms were exceptionally clean and neat, the welcome by the lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay we will definitely be back.
Hi, Thank you very much for the awesome stay. On arrival i found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable. Access to the venue was good as it seems like the road has been resurfaced. I stayed at Chalet 8 and this is situated at the very top of Oliviershoek pass and the view is breathtaking. The venue was clean and i enjoyed my stay. Very peaceful and quiet. However i must admit that it does not cater much for kiddies activities. Ideal venue for couples who would enjoy the peace and tranquility.
The cottage is comfortable and have all the necessary amenities with cutlery and crockery. It was spotless and the cleaning staff did a great job. It has a nice fireplace which should be handy in winter as well as a nice dining room table and lounge and a great verandah.
We only stayed over for one night. The only real problem we had, was the fact that the sewage overflowed about 5 meters from our chalet, leaving an awfull smell, instead of the fresh, clear, mountain air.
Lovely views, beautiful kitchen. Friendly cleaning staff. The house lacked crockery and made it really difficult to comfortably enjoy a festive dinner. We were constantly cleaning the dishes to re-use as the housekeepers only came in after 1pm. We used pots for salad bowls :(
