As always we enjoyed a wonder stay over and a great hotel experience. The rooms are comfortable. The food is fabulous. The staff are charming and as always we enjoyed a great stay. From Sandford we drove to Royal Natal Nation park for a day of awesome hiking in one of the best hiking venues in this country. Over the past five years, we've taken about eighty hikers to this venue and all have enjoyed themselves. So we will be back again in the new year!

Said to have been a resting point for weary pioneers in the past, it ended up being exactly that for our group. Its 150 years of history could still be felt despite having been refurbished. I quite liked the overall atmosphere. There was some peaceful and quietness that together with a copious hamburger gave us the strength for the rest of the day venture.

This was out third visit to this awesome little historic hotel, this time with 24 hikers.. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable, not that we spent too much time there as we were off to hike the incredible Tugela Gorge. The attraction though is the pub, delicious food, both the quality and quantity of excellent farmhouse, country kitchen cooking and the great variety on offer. The staff were charming and the pool is open again. We will be back next year hopefully to further explore the Northern Drakensberg.

Spent a very relaxing few days here. The rooms are comfortable and restaurant breakfasts and dinners are very good. The only downside is a very muddy entrance road that is impassable when wet. We were trapped for a few hours when leaving- were told the manager was looking into starting a tractor or something to tow people if needed, but eventually when I asked again, I was told it was OK to go and the manager was nowhere in sight. The staff, however, do a pretty good job in his/her absence.

Sanford park Hotel has great potential, but sadly during our visit at least, only partially lived up to it. The rooms are pleasant, with Balconies with lovely views.., well fitted out, with comfortable beds. The wi-fi was not good, and the limited channels on the TV, unwatchable. In the grounds there are a lot of Buildings un-inhabited and looking very sad The Pool is a concrete waste, and appears not to have been usable for quite some time. In the Restaurant, the staff seem dis-interested, the Buffet food was not bad but not labeled. , The deserts not very tasty. AND the Soup was quite tasteless. The Bar on the other hand was lovely, somewhat quirky but all the better for that, and the staff efficient. This Hotel could be so much better with proper Management

The rooms are big as well as the bathroom. The view is beautiful and the bar is very cosy. We had a buffet in the restaurant which was great, especially the dessert. There is not much to do in the close neighborhood.

Hotel situated outside of Bergville in a tranquil setting. The Hotel rooms are en suite and spacious with all the necessary amenities. The restaurant is a delight with excellent food and atmosphere and a very well like place for both the business traveler and large Tour groups. The hotel is situated ideally as a base to visit the various nature reserves and historical battlefields surrounding the area.
