We checked in late after our flight delayed and landed late. Check-in was quick and easy and breakfast good value for money. Nice efficient setup for an overnighter close to OR Tambo International Airport.
We came for a huge convention. The staff was hospitable and friendly, rooms were clean. Breakfast had a different meat everyday and could even be ordered in a breakfast pack. Our friends who stayed at the Radisson were disappointed when they heard what a fantastic stay we were having. Mr. Raymond can work all night long and still give you a good morning smile at 6:00 before his shift ends!
The bed was extremely hard. The breakfast ran out before 9.0p, we ended up taking whatever that was left. I don't see myself visiting that branch ever. The rooms are too small never mind the shower, it's just not there, way too small.
Terrible place and unsafe. Security suspect will never recommend this lodge to any tourist to JHB or overnight stay. Nothing further to comment about only very disappointed and very little security for clients entering gates at the end of drive way
Price well affordable considering options around OR Tambo international airport. Breakfast area had a nice window with nice view. Nice that they asked what time suits me for room service. WiFi working well.
This hotel provides you with very basic hospitality. The sheets had not been changed. There was a kettle in the room but you had to pay 9 rand to buy coffee and milk!!! and breakfast cost a further 80 rand. It was poor value for money. I would not use this hotel again.
We only stayed one night due to our early morning flight the following day...for short stays this hotel will fulfill your needs, it is not suitable for longer stays during your vacation. The hotel has a secured parking area. Firstly, the reception staff was very kind and helpful. Check in and out (in our case at 5am) was easy and quick. Provided internet was fast. The rooms itself are pretty basic and quite small, there is not a lot of space for suitcases or your personal things in neither room or bathroom. We ordered food delivery from one of the provided menus in the room. Sadly I can't remember the name of the restaurant but the food was not very good. Actually the lamb stew was only fat and bones, we flushed it down the toilet and we are not very picky eaters. This is not the hotel's fault but if they recommend that restaurant, maybe they should try their food from time to time... All in all, great service, close to the airport and fulfilled our needs.…
This property is located in a very dodgy location and it is best if you get there during the day for safety sake. The standards are very basic and you get charged an additional fee for breakfast. The rooms are a bit noisy, so ensure you ask for a room away from the reception but not on the top floor as i believe it is a smoking floor. This property is next to the freeway and getting a good night sleep might be a struggle.
Due to an unexpected delay in our flights we spent one night in Johannesburg. For one night at the beginning or end of a holiday this is a cheap, quiet, clean and friendly place to stay. Parking is available if you have a car and there is a small garden. Breakfast was a great price of 75 rand each. The help we received from the reception desk was exceptional and worth a mention as it was of high standard.
I had stayed here in August 2015 and also in August 2016 and had no problems at all. Very small, basic, but nice, clean rooms. With the 2nd night that I had stayed here in August 2016, (night of 30 August) I unfortunately had to wait for very long for the shuttle bus at the airport, to take me to the Road Lodge. They should arrive at the airport every 30 minutes, but this time I had waited for nearly an hour. One of the securities at the airport was so kind to hand me his private mobile phone, to phone the Road Lodge to find out where the shuttle bus is - which I did. Shortly thereafter the shuttle bus then arrived. The other times it worked out perfectly with the shuttle bus, (did not have to wait for too long) - also from the Road Lodge back to the airport. If you are tired from a long flight and just need a bed and a roof over your head, then this is the place for you. I was also treated well at the reception, with all the times. I am a happy customer.…
