We were treated like kings by Johan and Estelle. Everything worked 100%. We stayed for 3 days. Very safe. Comfortable rooms. Best breakfast in the Free State. Even before our arrival, we received good communication. Kgotso is a star. Will visit again.

The Manager of Bella Rosa and the Owner Oom Jan, went out of their way to make sure that we had anything we needed. Super Friendly super clean, and a stunning breakfast from Fruit, Cereal, yoghurt, Tea, and coffee, followed with Egg, Wors and Tomato, My one and only suggestion is they get Normal tea and not just Rooibos.

The bed is desperately in need of a new matrass. The DSTV was not working. A Cleaner closed the gate on our car twice, because there was no sensor. Sorry but we did not have a good experience. The location is perfect.

This has got to rate as one of the worst experiences of my life. On arrival, nobody home. Phone the mobile number on the gate, oh sorry I am in town, please wait 10 minutes. No hot water Only one towel in the toom when they knew we were 2 “Kitchen” dirty Fridge off No glasses/wine glasses etc No breakfast even though they took my booking for bed and breakfast and never bothered to call me and say the chef is sick Pathetic

Room Tip: Roads are full of potholes. We lost 2 tyres on the road between Ladybrand and Ficksburg.

It was terrible. When we arrived they tried to place us in other rooms than the ones originally booked. When we arrived that night after attending a function, there was no hot water in Cottage no 7. They did not switch on the geyser. Saturday night there was a huge party on the premises with lost of noise, drinking. People from outside were attending. This noise was going on till 2 o'clock Sunday morning. We will NEVER stay there again.

I made a booking in July 2019 to stay at Bella Rosa in February 2020. On arrival the first two members of staff (female) were unable to assist with checking me in. But one did ring a male colleague who was said to be the only person who could deal with reservations but was currently not on the property (at 4pm). He returned to the guest house within 5 mins and got out of his car and said to me : you must be here to see me. I wasn't sure who he was as he did not bother to introduce himself. He then started asking me questions as he walked away from me making it hard to hear what he was saying. It turned out he did not have my reservation and when I showed him the e-mail corrsepondence he pointed out that I had made the booking too early and that the person I had made it with no longer worked there. In any case the cottage was not available although he did offer me an alternative room. However I felt that service was poor and decided to look for an alternative.…

Unfortunately the person who checked us in was focussed on their problems and not customer service. When wee were shown to the room we were greeted by a mop and a bucket of water and an unmade bed. We were left to sit on the patio of the room like spare parts. Nothing was offered to us to alleviate the situation like a cup of tea etc. This was provided after the owner arrived and realised that I was very angry. Not a good experience unfortunately.

Despite my initial negative response to the room allocated due to the small size and the problem with the toilet and the reservation all ended in a fantastic two night stay. The bed was clean and slept well. A small problem with the toilet was quickly sorted by the to by owner.. Thereafter we had a fantastic stay and slept well. The service at the fully licensed bar was outstanding and long hours were spend on the "stoep" together with other guests. The in house restaurant provider food of a high standard (Supper and breakfast. Staff are very friendly and the service good.. I recommend this place to all.

An average guesthouse with an above average price. The beds and bedding are of a good quality. The rooms, bathrooms and towels are basic for an above average price tag. The bar and dinning room area smells of old cigarette smoke.
