Travellers' Choice
Imagine staying in some of the world’s most undiscovered, pristine environments. Completely private and removed from the rest of the world. Where authenticity of the experience, without compromising on standards, is the key. Where there is a philanthropic goal of both protecting the environment and giving back to the local community. Azura offers some of Africa’s ultimate private luxury hideaways for just a discerning few to discover. Privately owned and managed, our hotels are small and personalised, with award-winning 'eco-chic' villas, delicious local cuisine, and a whole range of unique experiences to enjoy. The Azura team is ready to welcome you, as they love to go out of their way to make every visitor's stay special. Our core philosophy is that each day should be different, and that we ‘wow’ you in some way during your stay with us. We are very proud of our guestbook, which is full of comments from happy guests, many of whom return to stay with us time and again.

Calling Azura Retreat idyllic is an understatement. My wife and I just got back from a trip there and couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. From the moment we arrived the entire team was dedicated to making sure we had a great stay. We had an all-inclusive stay, so meals and standard drinks and many activities were included. We both enjoyed the food immensely especially the fresh seafood (which we don't get much of in Botswana.) We paid extra to dive and for some spa treatments, but the price was fair. We had some scheduling difficulties during our stay, but they were resolved to our satisfaction which just reinforced their commitment to guest satisfaction. If you are a diver, you won't be disappointed by the aquatic life off of Tuma Reef. Josh and Rhys were excellent guides. And the final night seafood barbecue on the beach in front of our villa was the piece de resistance. Hassane really outdid himself. Throughout GM Brian was checking in with us to make sure that we were enjoying ourselves and being properly looked after. I can't recommend it enough.

The staff were incredible, helpful & sincere but not overpowering. The location is breaktaking and far better than most international locations in the Mediterranean & Bahamas in my experience. Loads of fun activities & amenities available to suit everyone’s needs.

We have just returned from a most wonderful week at Azura Benguerra. Amazingly just a 1h20m flight and a short hop to the island from Johannesburg and we were transported into a tropical paradise. The island; hospitality; weather (warm and sultry); food and activities made the week blissfully fly past. Highlights included a wonderful trip to Paradise Island where the snorkelling was so fabulous that the need for scuba diving was eclipsed. Throw in some great game fishing; unbelievable food (especially the seafood); a fascinating island tour and a sea temperature that probably averaged 27 degrees and it couldn’t have been better. Already looking forward to a return holiday.

We visited this Island to celebrate our friends wedding. We were wonderfully surprised by how lovely this little piece of land is. What made it especially enjoyable besides the special occasion was the lovely staff with their good service and friendliness. They graciously attended to our every wish! We did not know about this tranquil and peaceful part of the world and are sure to visit again.

We did moon light dinners/ dhow cruise with sunset / diving in the reef / day party at Peri peri beach / the tour for the village and got to know the project the hotel has with the kids/ picnic at the remote island ! Honestly this is a holiday for the books , I cannot wait to come back again
