A relaxing day, 6 Nov 2019. Efficient, friendly staff Aki, Clean Residence, well-managed and quick services. Price is reasonable. Aki was of great help and even responsive to my each requests made. He even made a plan of the vicinity and explained about the restaurants and food outlets where one can have proper breakfast and lunch. I would recommend other people to visit and experience, I liked the room, the signal of wifi was good too. Only two things (Constructive feedback) bigger towels could be provided and a safe in room would have been great as when one is out on tour, same can be used to keep valuable items. One can do water sports around and Ile aux Cerf Island is nearby. Many thanks Aki. I will definitely visit again. DS

Hej I booked a small studio. I got a nice double room (with no windows :-) ) .Toilet is usable but broken. It was important for me to be able cook. So I feel frustrated. Place has some nice apartment. I guess nice reviews are from those. If you are lucky you will get one of them. Price is low as well. So just book very carefully.

Don’t be fooled by the big hotel called the Residence. They are NOT the same. This is in town – not on the beach. Coming back from the beach hotels N of town, go to the church, take the 1st left after the church & ask for the jewelers. However that’s hard to find too. But it’s next door to a Marine Boutik that’s pretty easy to see. The place is a 2 bedroom apt. Both bedrooms have AC but we didn’t need it with the windows open & the fan on. Google maps said it was an hour from the airport but it took us much longer because of the roads with cars parked so you had to keep stopping to let traffic thru. The apt didn’t have toilet paper so I just bought some in the store right across the street. It also didn’t have soap or shampoo so bring your own or again buy at the store. 2nd night wasn’t nearly as nice. It was a studio with poor overhead lighting. The WiFi wasn’t nearly as fast. Still no soap or TP. Had to leave the windows open to get air flow & they opened into a hallway so anyone could climb in. Closed them at night & used the AC

Staying at the Golden Shell Residence for me and my best friend was dissappointing. There were several things that happened, which are not supposed to happen at all spending your holidays. Starting with the room itself: Accidently, I booked one night too early because I got confused with our arrival time. Ok, mistake on my side. Of course, we would have to pay for that. But when we actually arrived, our room was not ready. How could that happened if it was already booked for the night before and being paid for!? In the meantime, we relaxed in an other room, which smelled very moldy. Glad, we at least didn't have to stay there. But the bad 'highlight' of our stay was the night (third night of stay) when we were locked out. Yes, completely locked out! Two girls, without having the chance to access the building at 2 o' clock at night!!!! A big padlock (no, we didn't have the keys) welcomed us when we got back home. With streetdogs barking at us, sketchy cars stopping by and expected heavy rain for the night, you can only imagine how we felt. Nobody answered to our heavy knocking, yelling and finally even calling the place on the phone. Luckily, we had met local people on the island before, that we could get ahold of and stay in their guestroom for the night. The next day, being super mad about the incident, we talked to the owners. We were told that some emergency occured, so the whole family had to leave. Alright. I totally understand a family emergency, but, shouldn't our night at least be refunded??? Or additionally, what about a super-big "We are sorry about what happened"-excuse-breakfast for free???? Shouldn't be there something besides a lame "oh sorry, we thought you were already in bed" for being forced to spend the freaking night outside? What should've we done without the hospitality of the locals we had met? I don't even want to think about it!!! Location: Supermarket and pizza place nearby. WiFi: a lot of time non existent.
