Without doubt the best place to stay in Grand Baie. The hosts (Lena and Vivek) are geniunely nice and warm people, with great great knowledge about what to do and see in the area. They also speak swedish (as well as english and french), which was great for us as norwegians.

The location is perfect, nice and quiet street, but still less than 5 minutes of walking to the beach, dive sites, restaurants etc. Nice studio appartment with kitchen and AC. The rooms are cleaned every day by the housekeeper. Free (fast) wifi.

The guesthouse can send a driver to the airport if you call them in advance, which is much cheaper than a taxi (and a very nice guy!).

We were really pleased with our stay and can definitely recommend it to anyone travelling in Mauritius.

Thank Axel and Laurius for your stay at our small Auberge. It was a great pleasure to share some ideas and infos to make your holiday organised. We are very happy that you appreciate Grand Bay with its activities and facilities. It was very easy to communicate due to our common language Swedish and happy to hear that you satisfy. We wish you a good continuation of the year 2022 and a very nice day. Best regards, Lena, Vivek and Chili.

A big thanks to Lena and Vivek for their hospitality during my 5 nights stay over there. They really make sure that everything is running properly. Also, they give tips to more around the area.
The accommodation itself is good, you have everything you need and you can talk with Lena and Vivek in case you need something.
I will be back in case I am again in Mauritius.

We stayed here for two weeks in 2 bedrooms apartments. First, I would like to thank the hosts - Lena, Vivek, and Chilie :) - for their hospitality and help, especially on our first days in Mauritius. Only here the host will ride a bike in the evening to get you food.

Our stay in Grand Bay could not have been any better! Lena en Vivek are truly the nicest people we have ever met. We had a nice apartment with a kitchen and balcony on the top floor with airconditioning and good WiFi. Everytime we got back from a day out, we were welcomed by Lena, Vivek and their cute dog Chili. They are happy to help you planning activities. We would definitly recommend this place if you're planning to go to Mauritius!

This is one of the best choices in Grand Baie!! Close to the beach and the super market as well as the nightlife there is! The hosts are from Mauritius and Finland and couldn’t be nicer! I travel constantly and have to say I felt very at home here. Large studio with every thing you need and super clean. Tell them you read the review from the guy from California when u get there!!

Being a little shocked by the prices proposed by the big hotels and resorts in Grand Baie (in all Mauritius actually - especially at X-mas season) I was happy to find Auberge Miko, recommended by a Mauritian friend. So if you don't want to pay 500 USD for night excluding breakfast (!)- you can opt for Auberge Miko, which has apartments and studios. We had an apartment with 2 rooms, with A/C and kitchen, simple but clean. The difference lies in the fact that the owners Lena and Vivek are really there for you. We were welcomed with a cold, local beer (Phoenix) and they did everything to help us make our stay comfortable, from arranging a baby sitter for the night to organizing taxi-rides. They speak all kind of languages from Swedish to French and English in between. The location is great because it is at 5 to 10 minutes walking from shops and restaurants.

A good choice if you want to safe some money to do other things on the beautiful island of Mauritius!

If you want a warm welcome and a clean room for a bargain price this is the plce for you. It felt like visiting relatives Lena and Vivek made me feel so at home , they were there to offer advice and travel tips or just for a lovely evening chat. the room was clean and had all amenities one would need for a island holiday including aircon which is a lifesaver! The hotel/rooms are located close to the beach and all shops in grand baie.

Stayed here for one night only last night, Lena and Vivek were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. The room was really nice and spacious with air-con and a fan! The wifi was very strong which is good for us travellers that need to book future accommodation and stay on top of foreign news! Breakfast was also offered but we declined as had to leave early. Thanks Lena and Vivek for an extremely pleasant stay.

They also have the cutest dog Chilli!

After attending a conference in Mauritius, I wanted to stay a few extra days to try and do some diving. The cost of hotels in Mauritius was massively more than i was anticipating so I did some fishing around to see where abouts I may be able to stay on a budget and stumbled across Auberge Miko. First thing I'd say would be don't be too alarmed about the road which it is on. The road was very rocky and it looked a little like a backstreet but I walked around in the dark by myself (26 yr old female) without any trouble at all and it was very close to the main strip. Vivek and Lena were hugely friendly and welcoming, got me a drink and were more than happy to answer any of my questions. I can say without a doubt that they have been the most welcoming and helpful hosts of anywhere I have stayed around the world. They spoke to me and my colleagues (staying in another hotel!) about the best restaurants to try, places to see and organised taxis. We even had home grown passion fruit! The accommodation was clean, basic and comfortable and when the shower head broke, Lena was straight up to fix it for me.

In a nutshell, if I was to go to Mauritius again, i'd stay there again with a second though.

Thanks Vivek and Lena!!!

Loved this place. I wish we could have stayed longer. The owners are a married couple and are super helpful. Excellent service.
The room was clean and spacious with a kitchenette, AC and a ceiling fan. Wifi was fantastic, breakfast was also on offer for 3 which we didn't have, but sounded lovely. Lena was so welcoming and helpful with all of our needs, and made sure we were totally settled when we arrived.
Excellent value for money, they also have the CUTEST sausage dog. I would stay again in a heartbeat and am sad we couldn't stay more than one night.
