The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa in Mauritius garners high praise for its impeccable service, with guests often lauding the staff's warmth and professionalism. Many travelers enjoy the spacious rooms that offer stunning views, despite some remarks about an outdated decor. The resort's cleanliness is consistently celebrated, as is the inviting atmosphere, complete with live music and entertainment. Its prime beachfront location is a hit among guests, as are the luxurious amenities, which include diverse dining options and a spa. While the value is generally appreciated, a few guests note extra costs and pricey items.

We have just returned after 10 days at this gorgeous hotel and our first ever trip to mauritius. The hotel itself is beautiful and very tastefully designed. It’s location is relatively isolated, not one local shop outside of the hotel, so a hire car may be advised if u want to go out often. There are many trips that can be arranged around the island and in our experience these can often be arranged identically and more cost effectively by the hotel concierge service, instead of the summertimes rep - worth knowing! The food and service here is wonderful - all services are highly personalised and extremely friendly in a genuine way, not forced or artificial, everyone seems to remember your name and your preferences way before you even ask! Artee in the restaurant was exceptionally wonderful and simply could not do enough for us. Guest services were equally attentive. When we left, they allowed us to stay on in our existing room until 5pm so we could shower etc at no extra charge, and we’re only too pleased to arrange this for us. The whole experience was just wonderful and I can honestly say we didn’t want to leave!
We were half board and I wish now that we had gone for the AI option as the service was always brilliant but also because the hotel is isolated in a ‘hotels only’ area making it difficult to go to any other shops / bars/ restaurants outside of the complex unless it’s an arranged trip. There is a fab choice of a la carte restaurants available on the complex, which all looked fantastic.
We would most definitely book this hotel again.

I have just returned from a week at The Westin-and hand on heart, it's one of the loveliest hotels I have ever stayed in.
We were offered an upgrade to a suite when we arrived, but the king deluxe room we were in was stunning. I can't imagine what more you could want.
Two huge beds, a lovely bathroom (with a freestanding bath) and a terrace to sit out on.
We were in 302, and for us it was the perfect location (as would all the 300's be)
The terrace was perfectly private but it looked out onto the main pool and was a two minute walk to both the restaurants and the main building.
We spent most of our time (when it wasn't raining!) by the main pool. There was never any problem getting a lounger and, other than the morning zumba session (which I did not partake in!) it was perfectly peaceful.
The adults only pool was a ten minute walk away and wasn't as nice in my opinion. But I can imagine in school holidays it would be a more peaceful option.
There isn't much beach but there are loungers on the sand and lagoons to swim in, so enough for us.
The food was really the only thing that I wasn't over the moon with. Other than Kangan (which was absolutely superb) it was all just a bit meh. Not bad, but not amazing.
The breakfast buffet, whilst offering plenty of options was fairly standard big hotel buffet food.
But Kangan was incredible. The Beach Grill was a lovely option for lunch-the setting more than making up for the food.
We were All Inclusive and other than a small surcharge for Fisherman's Evening at The Beach Grill and some spa treatments, everything was included.
The wine on the AI package was perfectly quaffable and in never ending supply thanks to the waiters and waitresses.
In fact, the setting and service in this hotel made up for the food tenfold.
The staff are just amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, they remember your names and what you like to drink, they always had a smile.
Everyone was great, but there are one or two that we felt made our trip. Mehfooza in Mystique, Terry and Steven at breakfast and Kevin on the Front Desk. Thankyou :-)

The staff were wonderful and really made our holiday truly an experience my family and I will not forget. I have to say special thanks to Jameel, Nick and Savinda at guest relations who without them it would have seemed just like any other hotel but they really pushed the boat out and made our 10 day stay there a great experience. We will definitely go back if the opportunity arises.
The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice, so there is enough to satisfy all people, those wishing to have anything from a continental to a hot cooked breakfast.
The evening meals there was a choice of three additional places to go but due to the limited space it is better to book a table at these themed restaurants in advance if you do not want to go to the main restaurant.
All staff where very helpful and could not do enough to please us from the guys serving drinks at the pool to the staff cleaning the rooms.
The beach has quite a lot of rocks creating a barrier from the sea and in the morning you can see people fishing off these large rocks. If you walk one minute down the beach then you have a great beach.
If you get to go here then you will enjoy your stay.
Thanks again team for a great holiday.

Let’s start with the positives:
1. Kangan was awesome, great food and service
2. Nicolas was competent , friendly and knew what he was doing
3. The rooms are decent

Now to the issues
1. It is definitely not 5 star, the service at 3 star hotels is better
2. The breakfast was sub par and so is the buffet at seasons
3. The buffer selection at seasons in the evening was not tasty at all
4. The lady who handles restaurant bookings informed us that mystique is closed even after she made a booking for us earlier that day.
5. Speaking of mystique, the food was decent, however we saw RATS!!! Twice! 2 nights in a row!! And all the staff offered to do was call pest control
6. Service at the pool was shocking! After the previous review, Nicolas did wake the pool staff up for that day, however we went back to the adult pool the next day and the staff at the pool refused to bring towels ( they were finished) and he refused to put umbrellas up for us. After telling him to call Nicolas regarding the towels he brought them after 45 mins and when I asked him to lay them out he didn’t and ran away
7. It rained on one day, we called for a buggy, it did not pitch up for 45 mins, we then Were forced to walk in the rain
8. On the final day of our trip, our tour operator called the hotel to arrange a time that the airport shuttle will be collecting us. The concierge did not bother to give us the msg. I have proof of the call. Due to this the taxi pitched up and left us because the porter took too long to bring our bags. We had to them pay 4600 rupees for the private taxi to take us to the airport. This was all an expense that could’ve been avoided had the Westin employed competent staff.
9. Our rooms were full of ants and bugs
10. Our bill had to be scrutinized as there were lots of charges that were supposed to be deducted
11. I couldn’t earn Marriott points as we booked via an agent

All I can say is even if I win a trip to the Westin Mauritius I will not be returning

First time in Mauritius and we were so fortunate to choose this holiday destination & stay in The Westin.

It's a fabulous island that has managed to control Covid well - everywhere we ventured the locals wore masks & the hotel standards of cleanliness & regular testing ensured there were no cases amongst either guests or staff.

Check in & departure was so personal & attentive, all guests are made to feel special & valued. The reception staff were very efficient & charming - there is only one opportunity to be greeted properly & say goodbye, Westin certainly succeeded.

The site is spacious; carefully located blocks of rooms, none far away from a pool/a gorgeous shoreline. Wandering around the lush, well tended gardens you see a great variety of birds and hear an amazing frogs' chorus in the evenings. Yes there are a few dogs & cats, but all were friendly, never pestering or begging at the tables. There are two large pools & sunbathers are regularly offered drinks.

Rooms are large, comfortable & have good facilities. The daily service is top notch & reception are quick to attend to any problem that may occur.

There are lots of water sports on offer, most of them free to guests. The snorkelling & glass bottom boat trips were super & we loved the opportunity to swim with turtles on a paid excursion.

The food was a highlight and we still talk about the meals weeks after our return home. The Tastes Restaurant offers a buffet service, all food freshly prepared and hot; over a two week period we enjoyed a great variety of dishes. The specialist restaurants are popular, waiter service & amazingly presented food. But you do need to book well in advance to secure tables. They all offer something different, the Beach Grill & Fusion were our favourites. We were surprised to see some meals requiring a supplementary payment even though we were on full board.

The staff were brilliant in EVERY way - this includes those in the restaurants & bars, room service, maintenance, reception & gardeners. This reflects how tourists are valued by Mauritians but also the friendly, respectful culture we witnessed on the island. Although it's tempting to mention individuals, this would be a disservice to those we don't state as all staff were great.

Recommend this hotel without question, we would love to return.

We spent 9 nights ar this hotel and really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is set out over well tended gardens, none of the rooms feel overlooked and mist seem to have a nice view.

The pool area is spacious with plenty of space between the loungers and a nice choice if places to sit depending in whether you want peace or quiet.

The food in the buffet is delicious. I never struggled for choice or had to wait for a table. I think their buffet breakfasts is one of the best I have ever had had and that view is to die for.

I tried each or the restaurant ls all we good but Kangan was something very special. Definitely go there if you like your Indian food. We went twice and had different options each time. All were delicious.

The gym is nice and a big shout out to Shiv for giving me some personal training training while I was there.

The communal areas, especially the toilets were always spotless.

The hotel is in a remote area and the hotel shop only really sells souvenirs. There is no local shop within walking distance and a taxi to Grand Baie is £20 plus e/w
So if you want snacks, soft drinks, drinks in your room etc stock up on your way here.

There are mini bar items and cigarettes etc but they are very expensive at the hotel. Also the mini bar is not left stocked due to covid.

The hotel had upgraded many people to full board board all inclusive. As lunch and the pool bar are all table and lounger service only, it means that the service can be really slow when they are busy. This was not the fault of the bar and waiting staff who were always polite, friendly and working hard.

The hotel either needs to have more waiting staff on during lunch times or have a bar/self service option available to speed things up.

It would also have been nice to have been able to get ice lollies or ice cream during the day without having to dine in the restaurants.

Drinks at the hotel are generally expensive. £12 for a cocktails and £10 spirit and a mixer. The mixers are all 330ml. So ask for the bottle and split between 2 drinks if you like them stronger. Happy hour is good value with all drinks half price...worth getting to the bar before 7pm!

The wine selection very over priced. £30 for a bottle of wine with a screw-up that you might pay £15 for in a restaurant in the UK. A decent bottle is £50 plus and even them I am not convinced they are stored correctly for the money you are paying.

All this review really needs is that the Westin is one of the best hotels in the world, just book it. But you wouldn’t believe me.

I couldn’t help but read the negative reviews here most of which were positive with the wrong star rating, but the Hotel bless them are too polite to correct them!

The location is fabulous the service is excellent the food is scrumptious with a variety of restaurants and a buffet to suit all tastes. Then you get the gym and the spa and the pools and maids popping in to your room almost invisible making sure every is perfect.

If your booking now probably the whole covid thing might be a concern to you but they even made that easy. We traveled from the UK, there is a lot of form filling and covid passport requirements which made arrival at Mauritius airport slick and the hotel test on day 1 easy. You then rest easy that everyone had jumped through the same hoops. Inside the buildings you wear a mask outside the buildings you don’t and the staff do all the time. So rest assured for me it was easy and hardly an inconvenience.

Visit Mauritius they need your custom And I certainly needed R&R at the Westin Turtle Bay.

We and my wife came here for our honeymoon and I have to say, the service was Impeccable!

I would personally like to thank Nitish and Sam who are in charge of services at Seasonal taste who ensured me and my wife were always looked after.
Additionally, Anil and the cleaning supervisor who was our housekeepers who always made sure our room was cleaned to a high standard.

The resort was amazing, Mauritian people are some some of the greatest hosts I have come across in my journeys.

I would like to also like to state that all staff in all sectors at the resort provided excellent customer service.

The food here was amazing,

Make sure you definitely try kangan, Fusion, Mystic and seasonal taste.

Furthermore, I would like recommend this hotel to anyone who is considering to visit Mauritius.

P.S don’t forget to take advantage of all the facilities at the resort! It’s something you should not miss.

I know me and my wife will definitely come back here in future !

We stayed at Westin for 2 weeks and it was wonderful! Very friendly and attentive service, a very clean room with a good AC, a comfortable bed (for us one of the most important things in a hotel), a very nice shower (with rain shower) and a high quality series of bath products. The variety of restaurants and the offered food is overwhelming and at least with the All Inclusive Package you can eat and drink all throughout the day 😅 Also this was the minibar with the best assortment we have ever seen, even including snickers and mars. The Massage and facial treatment were also a blessing and the ladies at the spa are sooo caring!
The most important thing: whatever request or problem you have (although one hotel associate corrected us - ’no problems on Mauritius‘ 😁), you will never get the impression you are going on someone’s nerves. Quite the contrary - everyone really wants to please you and make you happy and they are all so friendly that this must come from the heart. For example: We had 4 cockroaches in our room during our stay (but more in the beginning), not something you wish for, but something that can happen on a tropical island. The rooms are super clean so this has absolutely nothing to do with hygiene. They sneak inside once you leave your balcony door open for too long (which maybe the guests before us did, we don’t know). We called the receptionists and they sent us someone immediately to put it away and they did a very conscientous anti insect spraying and extra cleaning and made sure we are fine.
Also the room service is great - 2 times a day! With fresh towels etc.
We also saw other hotels nearby when we fetched people when we went for a guided day trip the other day and the other hotels also had nice architecture and everything BUT all of the ones we saw house their guests in 3 (or more) floor blocks where there is one room next to the other. At Westin you have smaller houses with only a few appartements making it more private.

To be honest, there is nothing we could complain about. It was a wonderful stay!
We would love to come back some day ❤️

We stayed in 2 family rooms which were really spacious, had large en-suite bathrooms with separate large bath tubs and walk in showers. The beds were super comfortable.
The restaurants served a variety of delicious food throughout the week. We particularly enjoyed the Indian restaurant and were treated to a Mauritian lunch by the beach.
The watersports and diving centre is well equipped and benefits from the marine park nearby. Swimming with turtles was a highlight and I also liked scuba diving on the house reef. There was enough wind to have some fun with one of the laser dinghies.
Above all we enjoyed exceptional customer service from all staff at the resort. I was particularly impressed with Nitish and Pradeep who went out of their way to make sure we had a great holiday.
