Incredibly disappointing…especially for the price! The staff was not warm or friendly - nobody working there seemed like they even wanted to be there. Our room in the Stone House was adequate but no place to put clothes except a bar with a few hangers. The bed was awkwardly placed right as you walk in the door.
Nowhere was it communicated that breakfast was included until we happened to ask when it was served. When items ordered off the menu - it took at least 30 minutes, typically longer. Coffee in the self serve urn would run out and not be replenished.
Total price was $1500 for 2 nights…should have not been over $400/night by any stretch.

We paid nearly $1,000 for one night in the Hunter room written about in other reviews. Definitely avoid this room unless your idea of a luxury stay is to sleep in a cramped room and climb up and down windy, narrow stairs to use the bathroom. Staff was not helpful assisting with bags or explaining the breakfast options and did not care when we were waiting over an hour for first courses to arrive in the hotel restaurant. The manager’s attitude was, « why are you bothering me with this? » Very disappointing experience that could be avoided under better management…

Although the main house is nice, we were completely unhappy with the actual room...considering the price of $650/night. The room was small, no drawer space, no closet, no tv. The toilet was in a separate space like a mini closet. The bathroom was ok, but the shower had no "edge" and water ran out through the room. The curtain over the window was broken. Breakfast was minimal, but pricey for what was served. Staff was "sour" and acted like they didn't want to be there...including restaurant staff. Completely overrated and was one of the worst hotel experiences ever. We were charged for a meal that occurred AFTER we had left and are now disputing the charge with credit card company. Horrendous place!

Incredible experience all around – Beautiful property, amazing inn, and the location, staff and dining experience all accumulated into a very enjoyable, relaxing, stress-free weekend. The interior/exterior is a warming experience as soon as you pull up/walk in the door. The artistic design and all the pieces that fill the space have their own unique purpose. The staff was attentive and engaged throughout the duration, the food and drinks were fantastic (hat tip to Culinary Institute of America – right around the corner). If you’re looking to venture from the property, the location easily lends itself to various local day-tripping regions, and a fairly easy commute into NYC.

We reserved 2 rooms for our son’s wedding and shortly before our arrival they unilaterally cancelled our reservations because a large event, recently booked, overlapped with our dates. No apologies, no explanation, no effort to help us find alternative accommodations. In fact the so-called General Manager would neither accept or return our calls for clarification or assistance.
If a hotel experience is a reflection of how it is managed and how they treat their guests then best to avoid…best to stay at Mirbeau or The Gables.
The General Manager is rude and a coward.

A really great addition to upstate lodging. The grounds are beautiful even in the winter, and in the other 3 seasons will be even more gorgeous. The property felt small, cozy and like staying on a wealthy friend's compound. The staff & service were over the top friendly, and food + cocktails top notch. All the room interiors are very tastefully designed in a clean, modern aesthetic. The bourbon-soaked s'mores around the campfire at night were a very special highlight. I am looking forward to going back!

We booked two rooms here for Father's Day weekend and the one in the Lodge was OK. "Hunter's room", however, had a major problem in that the bathroom was located down a narrow, twisted, three-tiered staircase from the bedroom. Had this been disclosed on the website or upon booking, I would never have chosen this problematic scenario. When I complained, I was told there were no other rooms available. After repeated requests, I was given a $52 discount on a $1,267 room fee. Really not acceptable... beware the glowing descriptions of accommodations here.

My boyfriend and I visited Habitas for a weekend out of the city. This was one of the most charming and relaxing weekends I have had along the Hudson. The staff was fantastic, kind and gracious. We loved how they provided activities like yoga and a cooking classes. I LOVED how beautifully decorated the property was. I felt inspired by the decor and natural surroundings of the property. We rented a car and went into nearby Rhinebeck for dinner but we couldve spent the whole weekend at Habitas without having to get in the car to drive anywhere. There was plenty to do at the hotel, even in the middle of winter. They had old school board games and reading nooks throughout the hotel. Our bed was incredibly comfortable and clean. Coffee was delicious in the morning and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Will definitely be coming back!

Just had a beautiful and relaxing weekend at Habitas on Hudson; a group of friends rented a few rooms and enjoyed gathering in the main house, where we enjoyed well-made cocktails, a delicious dinner and spent hours catching up, laughing and unwinding. The other guests were fun to mix with and the staff was always friendly and welcoming. Love the mix of a classic Hudson valley mansion with the brightly colored modern decor. The house also has some fun games— ping pong table, fuz ball, a game room— and several rooms where you can wander and enjoy exploring the space. Would fully recommend Habitas-on-Hudson for restful and joyful getaway.

We made reservations to stay at Habitas on Hudson on June 22, 2023 for our nephew's wedding in Sept. This morning, August 21, 2023, we received an email saying the hotel was canceling our reservation because they have a "...private event that overlaps with our booking". They said we could rebook for another date and that they wouldn't charge us a cancellation fee. Are they kidding!! There are no hotels available on the dates we need. The manager would not get on the phone to speak to anybody, even though we were told we would get a call back. Just disgraceful. They clearly got a better deal and decided they didn't have to fulfill their obligation to their other patrons.
