The Mirbeau Inn & Spa is often lauded for its attentive service and luxurious atmosphere, complete with elegant rooms and cozy fireplaces, although a few guests have experienced inconsistencies. While the spa's extensive amenities are a highlight, overcrowding and minor omissions have been noted. Its location garners praise for proximity to dining and shopping, and the hotel's cleanliness is widely commended. However, the value for money has been questioned by travelers who mention overpricing and unexpected charges, and some have raised concerns about room readiness and upkeep.

Staying at Mirbeau was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped into the stylish lobby, we were impressed by the elegant design and warm ambiance. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was exceptional. The rooms were beautifully decorated, immaculate, and equipped with top-notch amenities that made us feel both comfortable and pampered. The on-site dining options offered a culinary experience that was nothing short of gourmet. Overall, Mirbeau Hotel provided a luxurious escape that surpassed all our expectations. We can't wait to return!

I visited for a much needed relaxation spa getaway recently. It was a spur of the moment decision and honestly, quite pricey as I visited on a weekend. Everything about this spa/hotel is wonderful. I never regretted my decision as this is a well run hotel/spa. From the greeting upon entry at the front desk, grabbing of my bags (without me asking), accommodating whatever I needed ,(such as a microwave for my room, etc), this place is flawless.
The spa was wonderful. I had 4 treatments; one was a very wonderful facial (with this beautiful product which was all natural), the 2nd was a French detox scrub/massage (very very relaxing and I actually did detox which was a bit unpleasant for a while but did the trick), the third was a wonderful long relaxing manicure with hand massage and nail buffing and the 4th was a wonderful aromatherapy massage. The people at the spa are very well trained (massage therapists, estheticians, etc)
The setting is beautiful, the hotel looks like an old French manor; it is is very clean. The restaurant is very nice and the food is very good. Again, service is spot-on.
On one evening, I went out for dinner (Rhinebeck is a very nice village to visit). The restaurant was packed (even though I had a reservation) and I had to wait to sit at the bar. I got my seat and it did not have a back on it. I'm writing this because there was a person there who relinquished his seat with back to give to me (and it was his anniversary with his wife). I was very grateful and thanked him. As we chatted, I learned that this lovely man is the Guest Services Director for the Mirbeau. Now I understand why this place is so special. As we all know, it is the leadership that matters and he really cares (about his staff and his customers). Thank you again, Billy.
I look forward to my return.

I had the pleasure of experiencing an exceptional visit to the spa, and Edina truly made it stand out. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with warmth and enthusiasm. She gave us a thorough tour of all the amenities—the locker room, sauna, steam room, pool, and other facilities—ensuring we felt comfortable and informed every step of the way.

Edina goes above and beyond to make sure every detail is perfect. Her attention to cleanliness and organization was apparent, and it was clear she takes great pride in maintaining the space. She’s always working hard to ensure the guests are taken care of, but her efforts never feel rushed; she’s genuinely invested in providing a great experience. Whether it's offering helpful tips or checking in to see if we needed anything, Edina’s dedication to her role truly stood out.

If you're looking for a relaxing and seamless experience at the spa, I highly recommend it—and definitely take note of how Edina makes everything feel special. She’s a huge asset to the spa!

I recently stayed at this location for what was supposed to be to have been a relaxing ladies retreat getaway. I am very displeased to say that our experience felt far below standard through the hotel stay experience.

From our initial “greet” from the concierge outside we were told to reverse our vehicle and park ourselves due to a car blocking the entrance through the round about. Forcing myself and my pregnant friend to bring our own luggage in. Upon checking in the welcome felt anything but that. We were not offered champagne on arrival and the front desk attendant was not pleasant, seeming agitated. Our room was not ready (which was fine we wanted to catch up over a bite) and when we politely asked another assistant behind the desk rudely responded, “guaranteed check in at 4pm.” We were starving from a long day of travel and instead of informing us that the bar was open and their restaurant hours for seating, they rushed us along with no assistance sending us on the main strip.

Every encounter with the hotel staff we experienced seemed to be lacking with this same type of interaction. We attempted to partake in Breakfast at the restaurant and waited over 10 minutes for someone to greet us. No one was to be found at the front desk or restaurant. When the hostess did arrive she came off rude and replying in a very unprofessional manner if we had a reservation for an empty restaurant that day.

Our experience at the spa was however completely opposite. The spa manager Edina and Erica at the front desk downstairs were phenomenal. All the attendants went above and beyond. They truly made a horrible hotel experience tolerable. Had it not been for their extra efforts we would have left this property immediately.

This type of attitude is completely unacceptable for a hotel of this nature. We have stayed at the Skaneateles location which was an entirely different experience. The level of standard hospitality at Rhinebeck was extremely lacking. Teenagers ran the halls and the smell of cannabis filled our floor and room. At this type of establishment this should not be tolerated. Now reading prior reviews this seems to be a recurrent issue.

During checkout we were informed that one of our rooms had been “upcharged” for a package that we had declined at initial reservations. A $700/room went to over $1100/night. Absolutely ridiculously expensive for the type of service rendered during our stay. Because of this type of sale tactic and the entire experience here we will not be returning or recommending this location further.

I stayed at this property expecting top-notch service for my wife and my 10-year anniversary but my experience fell painfully short. We discovered dried blood on our bedsheets shortly after checking in — a horrifying discovery in any hotel, let alone a high-end inn and spa.

When we requested fresh bedding, the housekeeping staff blatantly claimed the stains were our fault. When we confronted our attendant Juliana about this insinuation she backtracked and claimed she never said this. Her supervisor stepped in to apologize for Juliana's behavior and then promised to have the property’s housekeeping supervisor and general manager address our concerns. No one reached out. We were told repeatedly that neither was on-site and they never followed up.

Our frustration was compounded by a subtle, but very real, experience of discrimination. We are a younger, brown couple, and the resort’s demographic was mostly white guests, with a housekeeping staff of younger white women. We felt dismissed and disrespected throughout this process.

This property’s failure to maintain basic cleanliness standards and to professionally address issues—especially one as disgusting as blood-stained sheets—is inexcusable. I cannot recommend this resort to anyone seeking a respectful and well-managed hospitality experience.

Bottom Line: Overpriced and under-delivering. Consider looking elsewhere for a truly welcoming stay.

Dear Guest, I’m sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay. Our housekeeping supervisor updated me and said that staff was concerned. I was not in for a few days for the Holiday but did follow up today when I learned you wanted to hear from me. We do maintain a high level of standards and for cleanliness and service and apologize for any inconvenience. We pride ourselves on the level of diverse staffing that we have here and treat all of our Guests in the same professional manner. The vast majority of our Guests enjoy their stay and return and give referrals on a regular basis. Most of our Trip Advisor comments reflect this. Ed

Anniversary weekend, stayed prior in summer, had a wonderful time. This visit we had no heat in our room, while the staff were super apologetic offering us a space heater is unacceptable at $700 plus per night. While the management was able to put us in an upgraded room for one night the following day we were waiting for them to contact us and move to our original room. We had to contact them and was informed the heat was fixed and working. We moved to the original room and several hours later the heat stopped working and made for a cold morning of showers and eating our complimentary breakfast in our room . We were informed at check out they would give us a discount, however it has not been reflected on my cc bill. Sent info to manager, awaiting response. This is a beautiful property and spa, I hope they get the kinks fixed, fingers crossed.

I have been to Mirbeau-Rhinebeck 5 times, both with my husband (for sightseeing) and solo (for the spa), so obviously I liked it. I've had every kind of room, K, 2Q, suite (before it was actually a suite, but it has since been divided into 2 rms). Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be going back. I think the inn is probably about 7-8 years old, the time that a physical plant might need some extra TLC. I don't think M-R is getting it. 1)The TV in my room didn't work when I arrived. It was the night of the presidential debate, so a big TV night. The pleasant desk person let me use the room across the hall, but wouldn't let me move to that room, although it was obviously empty and was the location I had initially requested. That TV went on, but had to be rebooted every 4 minutes. When my TV was "fixed" the next day, it also had to be rebooted every 4 minutes. Desk person hinted that the problem was a system-wide failure. 2)The AC was so loud with a grinding noise when the compressor was on, I had to use ear plugs at night. I'm sure staff knew about that too. 3)The outdoor spa area is not large enough for the number of people who want to use it and are entitled to use it.
I kept going back because I like the location, the Willow restaurant, the fitness classes, the massage therapists, the pleasant staff. Are the owners too busy developing their next property a little bit to the south? I certainly don't know that, but one has to wonder what is going on.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Mirbeau resort. The room was new, modern and very clean. The spa was steps away from our room, which was very convenient. Treatment prices were on par with other spas, but we went midweek and got a great $150 off special. The spa itself is beautiful and very new, loved the outdoor area and the relaxation room.

Everyone on staff was very helpful and friendly and the price overall for the hotel was more than reasonable for a high end hotel/spa.

The Willow restaurant on premises was top notch too and during our stay we enjoyed some of the other restaurants in town, particularly because the resort is walking distance away from everything; we didn’t even need to move our car.

Can’t wait to return, a real hidden gem. I can’t believe I didn’t know this place existed sooner.

I brought my daughter to Mirbeau to celebrate her 40th birthday. Our stay was exceptional, memorable, restorative, and exceeded our expectations.
Three staff members stand out 1. Erica (Spa) remembered our names and other details we had shared. Her service attitude and friendliness contributed significantly to our spa experience. No matter how busy, Erica (? long hair, at the spa desk a lot) stopped what she was doing to give us 100% of her attention (her name is Erica or Zarah, she would remember Lori and Erin). 2. Bryan (desk/bellman?) also very friendly and kind. We borrowed the bikes and Bryan stayed with us to ensure we felt comfortable and made us feel like family. 3. Izzy, Catherine (front desk) and Zarah (spa) were top notch service providers. They made everything easy, were very friendly and took care of our every need.
Only three minor complaints: 1. The halibut ($36) was tasteless. I’m a huge fan of the delicate fish and it was tasteless. We did report this to our server. 2. My daughter needed (and requested) a firmer pillow and there were none available in the hotel. A few spare firmer pillows might be a good investment. 3. For the many women who frequent your spa who have undergone a mastectomy and breast reconstruction, it would also be a good investment to purchase "massage table breast pillow". I asked my masseuse for one and she said she “thought they had one, but she would have to search for it”. Towels under the arms or chest just don't cut it while on your stomach.
Overall, it was still an exceptional experience - the staff are fantastic.

My friend and i have treated ourselves to a spa escape between Thanksgiving and Christmas for the last 3 years, Mirabeau at Rhinebeck has an excellent spa and classes that focus on relaxation. Just what we expect in a comfortable surrounding. We find the location perfect to allow time for lunch at the Culinary Institue of America and small town shops for buying unique holiday gifts. Other such paces exist but we will return to Mirabeau because the service is superb. Billy, the manger, resolved a small issue graciously and made us happy to have the occasion to talk to him. In the restaurant, Kevin came by our table each day at breakfast to be sure we were enjoying our selections. Our waitress Zoey went beyond a mere description of menu selections to guide us to perfect meals and be sure they met our expectations when she served them. We have tried a more expensive spa/resort and find no reason to return there. Memorable service has given Mirabeau a special place in our planning our next relaxing escape..

No pools, indoor or out. There is a very large (approx. 30' x 6') hot tub Jacuzzi with an adjoining bar. Steam rooms and saunas are located in each (men's & women's) locker rooms.
