My wife and I recently stayed at the Residence Inn in Poughkeepsie NY and loved it! The staff was very friendly and accommodating to us. Even though we couldn’t see the staff smiling (due to their masks), we knew they were!

The hotel was extremely clean and my family felt very safe with all the extra safety precautions that were in place due to COVID. Proper signage was posted everywhere from entrances/exits to elevators and within rooms.

We will definitely be back!

I stayed at the Residence Inn last week while plumbing work was being done on the house and the entire staff made a stressful situation so easy. Every single team member was so friendly, always wore masks, constantly wiping down and disinfecting the common areas. The room was extremely clean and I felt totally safe staying there. Thank you for taking so many extra precautions to keep your visitors safe during this time.

This is my favorite hotel of all time!!

I stayed at the Residence Inn with my son for over a month and a half. In that time, it really started to feel like home. Our one bedroom suite was stunning and spotless, but also very comfortable to live in. The mattress and shower head were amazing. The countertop range, sink garbage disposal, and new, full-sized kitchen appliances made cooking a pleasure. Rooms are cleaned twice a week, which turned out to be perfect.

The hotel is walking distance to a Starbucks, a great sushi restaurant, a couple of burger joints, a Walgreens, and more.

What I love the most about the Residence Inn is that every single person who works here is an absolute gem. They've gone above and beyond in every way. I recently stayed at another hotel that used COVID as an excuse to do the bare minimum for guests, but that wasn't the case here. From grab-n-go breakfasts to opening the gym on a limited basis (with a reservation, two guests can work out at a time) to extra sanitation measures (really hitting those curtain wands, light switches, etc.), you feel that the staff is actually working harder than ever to make sure every guest's stay is as enjoyable as it is safe. You can depend on always getting a smile and whatever help you need.

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are beautifully-designed, spacious and have everything you need to stay with your family. Full kitchen, including dishwasher. Lots of USB ports throughout and places to plug-in. Wifi worked great and was easy to access. Everything was super clean and the staff was really friendly. We especially loved the pool and hot tub which were pristine and equipped with fresh towels and pool toys. And, they have hot breakfast ready for you in the morning! We highly recommend!

The room was so dirty. I visited with my very pregnant wife, 5 yr old son and 3 yr old daughter. We arrived late and didn't feel like dealing with it until morning. I made the front desk aware of the situation (carpets, sheets, bathroom floor tubs toilets and sinks were covered in head hair and pubic hair)! I was promised that the 2 bedroom suite would be cleaned when we got back later that day. They did come in and make our beds but that was it. I knew that because the sheets still had the same blood spots on then and we used a lint roller on the floor. We were so grossed out and told our kids not to take their shoes off and definitely not to play on the floor. I asked the front desk to come clean and they said that due to covid we'd have to leave the room (kinda crazy because you'd think the rooms would be exceptionally clean due to covid). It was 830 pm so I ended up begging the front desk for new sheets and a vacuum.
They need up taking $100 off of out bill but honestly I believe we should have been refunded the $600 and compensated more than that.
I used to live up that way and have stayed in the fishkill and poughkeepsie properties many times.
I must say things have definitely changed and it was probably the 2nd worse place we've ever stayed. The worst place only beats it because there was a hypodermic needle under the bed.

We chose the hotel for the third time. My husband attended a seminar at IBM and the short distance is one of the points we always value. There are other advantages that made us choose this hotel and this time they were no longer offered. Breakfast used to be very complete and are no longer complete, for example they do not offer fruit.
Another of the services that we valued when I stayed alone in the hotel while my husband studied was a courtesy car that on some occasions brought me to the shopping mail. That service is no longer available,
The room was not cleaned in the 5 nights of stay. If we needed to change towels we had to go to reception to ask for them and instead of giving a complete set, they skimped asking how many we needed.
They used to have a social reception 3 days a week in the afternoon with drinks and food and they are no longer doing it....They have enough space to do it outside or place drinks and packaged food or burgers cooked outside as they did a few years ago
Our perception is that in the name of COVID, economic cuts are being made. In other Marriott hotels where we have been staying a few days later we had full breakfast, daily cleaning of the room and excellent quality of service.
Next time we will choose the recently opened Homewood Suites hotel that has the advantage of proximity to IBM

We stayed in the 2 bedroom executive suite. A big plus was that the two rooms are opposite one another & each room had its own bathroom & shower. Walking distance to a CVS & about 15 minutes from the FDR historic home. Right by the FDR home is the Eveready Diner, a retro must try diner. Do not purchase snacked from market store in Residence Inn-overpriced. The hotel is pet friendly and one dog was off its leash, which I didn't like & is legally not permitted. The free breakfast is fine (good bagel, eggs, juices, coffee) but no longer do they have pancakes, waffles, French toast & little danishes. The 2 bedroom suite is great but the shower is not strong. The receptionist misquoted the extra $20 holding fee, which I was not going to pay, but the manager explained this price comes off upon leaving. The pool goes up to 4 feet and you must tap your card "twice" to get into pool. WiFi is poor but you can watch HBO max for free. The problem was the connection would stop often and then you had to start your movie all over again. Nice towels in room, only one small soap. But for the above mishaps, I would have given a 4 rating. Hope the Residence Inn adds the usual food items to their breakfast & addresses the quirks I encountered. There is a refrigerator, dishes, forks, table, nice couch & chair in the room + 3 tvs. Each bedroom gets a TV + there is another TV in the kitchen/couch area. Hope this helps other travelers.

We stay here one night to visit the Roosevelt library.
The hotel is located in a nice area with restaurants and shops near by. It is older hotel and could use some updating , when you flush the toilet It made a super loud noise. I asked for body lotion at the front desk they said they did not have any that I could buy some from the store … I could not believe it . Body lotion used to be standard in the room with soap , shampoos etc but for some reason they do not put it i. The room , so you have to ask for it at most place now a days but to not have any all
And then tell me to buy some . I could not believe it.
The breakfast was lacking, a few hard boiled eggs , cereal , no bread to make toast , only English muffin
Bagel. No peanut butter out do I asked and the guy
Brings this giant jar out .so I took a knife and placed some in a cup to use. Other staff members at night were friendly and helpful.

I reserved a room here on the 7th to check in on the 8th. Unfortunately I was leaving a horrible AirBnB. Hoping to check in early I called the hotel and spoke with Daisy to see if there were any rooms available to check in early. She said there wasn’t but may be some by the time I arrived there after 11am. Upon arrival around 11:30am it was noticeable that people had checked out late. I did tell her that I requested a digital key. She said as soon as one was ready she’d send it out. I remember telling her that I’ve been told this all before and 9/10 nobody does. I’m thinking at least around 1:30 I will receive it. That time came and went. It is now 2:15p and I had to then make the decision to borrow my sis-in-law’s hotel room in New Paltz to get ready for a wedding that was starting at 3:30p. Back across the River I go.

It is now 5 or 6pm. I called the hotel to figure out what’s going on with my digital key. Now I’m told I can’t be assigned one because my military ID has to be verified AND the card didn’t go through (Zip). I have never had an issue getting a digital key at check in with any Marriott hotel where I’ve used my ID. Also it states that if the military ID isn’t verified then the room charge will change to the current rate. I decided not to check in since the attendant said my card wasn’t going through AND it would be 10pm or later by the time I would be able to come back across the Hudson River to show my military ID.

By 6am the next day my money was taken out of my account. I feel as if they thought I was lying about my ID and purposely gave me a hard time. I will be contacting someone to get my refund.

came for a weekend to get out of nyc and used the hotel as a base to explore the hudson valley

hotel was reasonable priced and having a full bedroom suite with a kitchen just feel luxurious.

i didnt expect to spend so much time in Poughkeepsie but i did they took an old bridge that crossed the hudson and turned it into a park great views good exercise i found quaint restaurants, bbq, diners. visitied FDR's home. who knew that there was so much to do.

no breakfast is served yet but they did provide take away option that was pretty good

i chose this hotel for the price, but found the rooms nicely renovated, the surrounding area al a pleasant surprise
