Hotel is very clean and in a convenient (though unattractive) location. Front Desk staff are very pleasant and welcoming. However, there is no elevator and if you have a room near the stairway door, you may not get much sleep as people come and go all night. All the interior doors are metal, heavy and slam when they close. Also, as pets are allowed, you may be treated to some late night barking.

I'd give this hotel 3.5 stars if I could -- 3 feels a little low, but 4 is too high. It's quite basic; I stayed twice in two different rooms, both of which were clean but dated and a little grim. The beds were comfortable enough, and I didn't hear too much noise from outside or other rooms thanks to the roar of the air conditioner. The location is convenient to area attractions, especially Vassar College, though you'd definitely want a car.

The breakfast was all right -- mostly continental (bread, yogurt, bagels, oatmeal packs, etc.) except for some not-very-good scrambled eggs. One morning I went to get a scoop of the eggs right after the staff person had put a new tray out, and found that they were cold, ugh. They could also use more than four tables in the breakfast area, as it was too crowded during busy times.

Wi-Fi was free and fast enough for my purposes. Front desk staff was generally friendly and efficient. Shower temperature and pressure were okay.

Overall adequate accommodations, but I'd consider this place a bit overpriced (more than $100/night on the days I stayed).

To be fair, I must disagree with the previous review on a number of issues. The facility's neighborhood was far from questionable - unless you consider bordering Vassar questionable. While construction was evidently in progress, I have no complaints as far as noise. My room - the smallest in the complex - was not small, and my wife was with me, mind you. The one ant that I did witness was sedentary and harmless. I can't imagine that there would be any fewer ants in my own, pristine home. TV - fine. The ownership and staff were on the whole delightful.
While you're there, do walk the Vassar campus - it's gorgeous, and visit Castillo Espanole (excuse my spelling should it be off the mark) - excellent Spanish food.

We've come regularly, once or twice a year, for many years. We generally book two rooms, and in most cases are given adjoining rooms, that the grandchildren LOVE. The hotel offers excellent value, and the fact that most items offered for the free buffet breakfast are kosher is a very important plus.

Checked in yesterday and checked an out an hour later. Very disappointed for the money. I understand the smoking/ non smoking room thing but I walked into my non smoking room and couldn’t stand the smell. Also, the hotel houses several homeless people. There were people all over the place. Even saw a man standing outside a room with a sign who we later saw on Route 9 asking for money. I know how the system works being I have family who work for the system. Many motels/ hotels house the homeless whether it be hot out or over crowding especially now due to the pandemic, but I just didn’t feel safe. The girl that checked us in was super nice though. Didn’t seem like there was an elevator either as another guest showed us where the stairs were. Oh well, just threw away almost $150 on this room. We also booked another room somewhere else for another $150. Yesterday was an expensive day just for an overnight stay on our way home from vacation but that was our choice not to stay.

I’m leaving this review early, because I genuinely can’t stop thinking about how outstandingly kind, exceedingly professional and immensely understanding the entire staff, but more specifically, the manager of the motel is. I am so thankful and grateful beyond words for her and her extraordinarily kindness bestowed upon me. I sometimes become quite forgetful and found myself in a very difficult situation recently regarding the forever love of my life, in which to whom my heart will always belong. With that said, her professionalism and utmost friendly care and understanding is something I will never forget. I told my Dad earlier when I was on the phone with him how much of a truly, absolute blessing it was when it came time for the delicious breakfast they kindly proved. That cereal and strawberry yogurt is immaculate. And I certainly love me some orange juice. It was splendid. Her job is managing this wonderfully delightful and cozy establishment, in which she irrefutably does a spectacularly impeccable job of doing. I want to thank you once again from the bottom of my heart for the provision of these overly tidy, consistently up kept and warm, spacious room in which you’ve provided, but most of all, the emotional comfort you’ve provided for me as well as the peace in my heart, as a result. I am so thankful for you, Miss.

Loud people next door making noise and partying all night. A tick and two spiders on the ceiling above my bed. Bathroom too small. No information on what restaurants are in the area. Even asked at the desk. They had no info to help.

We recognize concerns of all of our guests. If you ever feel unsafe or unhappy with your room we hope you will choose to reach out to us directly, and allow us to offer you a better solution. Also, please let us mention most menus are available on-line and deliverable with many take-out food providers. We also have a business center to review at your own leisure local area information our staff may not be familiar with.

On the outside it doesn't look fancy, and it's not, but we had a wonderful stay in probably the most comfortable hotel bed we've ever slept in (and literally every single hotel bed leaves me waking up hunched over in pain). Front desk staff were wonderful and accommodating. Hotel is close to everything, including a variety of eateries for every palate and budget. It's really a gem.

Facility is in a questionable neighborhood.

While staying there (07/03), was confronted with constant construction noise and no pool as advertised on corporate site. Noise from onsite construction began at 7am and kept going until late afternoon, even on a Sunday.

The room was small, infested with ants and let in lots of noise from outside. The entry doors did not close properly and so had to be slammed to get them to shut (more noise).

The Television in the room had a bad cable connection and so faded in and out. No clock in the room had to turn on TV to see the time. Air Conditioner was a noisey wall unit and did not cool properly.

When I went to leave, was delayed 30 minutes because a cement mixer and bobcat had parked immediately behind my vehicle.

Staff was indifferent to problems. Was told I would have to delay departure until 10am next day if I wished to complain to a manager.

My experience was very unpleasant, unresponsive and a complete waste of money. You would be well served to look elsewhere.

After two weeks the manager has still not addressed my complaints and has not returned any calls.

Hello! We do have several pet friendly rooms available at the Days Inn Poughkeepsie and it is absolutely fine to leave your pet in the room while you go out for a while! If you would like housekeeping please contact the front desk to have the housekeepers come and clean your room while you are there with our pet of while you take your pet out. Our girls are a little nervous to clean rooms with the pet unattended. We are about a 30 minute drive from the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. You can call the front desk at 845-454-1010 to make your reservations for next weekend. We do have limited rooms available. Thank you, Linda Obrizok Director of Sales
