I love this place! The cozy rooms built into the hillside, the amazing food, the adorable little pool, the romantic dining areas outside and friendly and helpful staff make it a gem. It is quiet and away from the bustle of the main street, but close too so we could walk everywhere. Breakfast is delicious too.

After researching numerous hotels in Santorini prior to booking, I'm confident we picked the perfect one, in location, hospitality, and overall experience. We booked a superior studio which was a comfortable room with a balcony offering incredible views. We were able to watch the sunsets without the crowds congregating at the castle and loved having breakfasts while watching the boats arrive at the bay in the morning. We ended up having dinner there twice, at the open air restaurant only 1 flight up (in this respect, we were luckier than many) and on our balcony. Andreas, who waited on us several times, was just wonderful and provided exemplary service, making sure we got our correct orders and ample coffee in the morning. I got to use the pool every day which was just idyllic and was given the opportunity to take full advantage of it after check-out as my pickup to the ferry was not until 2:30PM. Nicole at the reception desk was also terrific. I had a problem at the airport upon arrival and she ensured that the taxi driver would wait for us, when we finally arrived we were greeted warmly.

If you are going to stay in Oia and want a relaxing experience away from the crowds on the main street, Esperas is the perfect place.

The staff was great, the rooms were top notch, and the views were amazing. This hotel allows you the ability to stay in a cave room, while also providing you with some of the best views on the island. Complementary breakfast can be served in your room, and for us that meant eating breakfast from our balcony overlooking Ammoudi Bay. The location is perfect to watch the sunset. While everyone else in Oia was crowding paths, we were able to sit in the comfort of our balcony or eat dinner at the hotel's restaurant

The menu at the restaurant was small but mighty. We tried almost everything and loved it all - smallness wasn't an issue because it was clear that the restaurant took seriously perfecting everything that it did include.

While visiting Santorini for a wedding, we had the absolute pleasure of staying at Esperas Santorini Hotel. Having never visiting Santorini before, we had no idea what to expect and selected this hotel based on wonderful reviews. It did not disappoint! From the minute we stepped foot on the property, we felt totally welcomed and relaxed. The property is absolutely amazing, and the views of the harbor, ancient ruins and the beautiful sea are the best on the island. It is located a short walk from historic Oia, with shops and ancient ruins. We chose to dine most evenings at the restaurant on property, because the food was delicious and the sunset views spectacular. The full breakfast delivered to our room each morning was an unexpected treat. Every member of the staff, from the owner to restaurant and housekeeping staff were like family by the end of the stay. I honestly cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!!!

I have been to 33 countries and never have I been so delighted and surprised by a hotel. The attention to detail was evident immediately as the staff greeted us with a cold beverage, showed us to the most amazing room, and had a complimentary bottle of wine and roses for our anniversary.

We became so fond of the staff there (specifically Kevin, Swann, Eleftheria, and Lorenzo) and looked forward to seeing them each day. The restaurant there has the best sunset view on the island and Kevin is an exceptional host. He anticipated every need and recommended very tasty dishes. The rooms are better than pictured, with stunning views, privacy, and beautiful design touches.

Location is also a huge plus- you're so close to all of the photo spots, the center of town, etc. Makes getting around so easy and convenient. This hotel truly blew us away, we will return again and again and again. Let me make the Santorini hotel hunt easy for you. THIS IS THE HOTEL. Stay here and enjoy paradise.

Esperas Houses is an ideal location in Oia for rooms with sunset views. without the crowds around you. The rooms have the cave house design and our standard house was very roomy with plenty of outside space for eating and relaxing. The staff is very attentive and courteous and they are always smiling and friendly. Situated where it is on the Caldera it is a short walk to the steps down to Amoudi Bay. If you stay here be prepared for some stair climbing to get out to the center of Oia.

This was my fourth trip to Santorini, second stay in Oia. We loved Esperas. Our previous hotel in Oia cost twice as much, yet we liked Esperas more. My wife’s 74 year old mother had difficulty with the steps (our two rooms were the farthest down the cliff). After the first night we asked if my mother-in-law could be moved to a room higher up the cliff. The hotel staff couldn’t have been more helpful and understanding and moved her to a beautiful room that involved far fewer steps.

The breakfasts were wonderful. Each night we would hand in a breakfast menu with our choices and requested time and the staff would bring it down to our room where we would eat on our beautiful balcony. We had dinner at the hotel on our last night and were all very happy with our food. My wife and I had a couple massage with a beautiful view of the sea that was absolute perfection.

The rooms were spotless and well appointed. We’ll no doubt return to Santorini and look forward to returning to Esperas!

I rarely spend this much money on a hotel but I told myself it’s Santorini and the view was amazing and the photos looked so nice. However, aside from the view, nothing else felt like this was worth the money.

They put me at the very bottom room and told me it had “the best view” which is not true since the “sunset view” is partially obscured by a cliff. Also I had to walk up more steps than everyone else to get to town or go to breakfast. I wonder if they did this to me because I was traveling solo and they just didn’t think my money was worth the same as a couple paying the same amount.

The room was whatever. Nothing special. Pretty dingy. The “white” towels are off-colored making them not appear clean. I’ve stayed at many Airbnbs this trip that were a fraction of the price and felt way more luxurious. The patio furniture is ancient and dirty.

The staff were nice and helped me make dinner reservations and book excursions. However, at the end of what I felt was a mediocre stay, I was then overcharged for minibar items I didn’t even have. I had to ask them to restock the food items the day before I checked out because they hadn’t done so my whole stay. When the guy came to restock, he was practically in my room for ten minutes to restock a few things. He told me he was new and apologized. Come to find he wrote that I drank almost everything in the fridge which was completely untrue. I then had to argue about it with the front desk. Why would I spend all this money only to then lie about the minibar?

I wasn’t even going to write a review until that whole fiasco happened. You’d be better off getting a nice Airbnb at the same price (or probably cheaper). You can watch the sunset from a million places. You don’t need to pay $500+ for an obscure view from your room.

This hotel is absolutely amazing!
We were in Santorini for a destination wedding. We used Trip Advisor and Google to help us find a hotel near the wedding venue. We wanted to be within walking distance. We also wanted to be within walking distance to the Village of Oia. After much research we decided on Esperas Hotel.
The hotel is small and quaint with approximately 20 rooms. It is built into the side of the cliff overlooking the ocean. The views of the sunset are the best on the entire island!! Every room is unique as they are basically small caves carved into the volcanic rock.
Most people like to island hop while visiting Greece. We decided we just wanted to relax and attend a wedding. We stayed 10 nights! We had the most amazing vacation.
Ombra is a small restaurant at the hotel. We ate dinner there almost every night while watching the sunset. The food was delicious. Breakfast comes with your stay and we enjoyed it at a small table right outside of our room every morning.
The Staff was awesome! By the end of the week, they felt like family. George is the owner. He has surrounded himself with best people that go out of their way to ensure your visit is perfect. The hotel was amazing, but the staff was out of this world. Kevin, a fellow gin drinker quickly became a friend.
Thank you for everything!
We will find a way to come back.

Is the pool open at night in July? Can you swim and get drinks at the pool bar after the sunset?
Answer from Travel Pro

The pool is open at night- and the view of the sunset and night sky is amazing. You can swim yet you can't get drinks after 9PM. It's an awesome experience!
Answer from Andrea

Hello Bamagirl6, the largest bedroom in the 2 bdrm suite has a door and it's up a few stairs in the suite. The second bedroom also has doors or what is similar to shutters. That room is in the back area of the main room of the suite. There's no curtains anywhere in the suite that I can remember. Also, the suites are 'traditional houses' which means they're cave-like. The bed in the largest bedroom is in a cove sorta like a big, pizza oven. It's pretty cool to be honest. But thought I'd let you know.

I would ask the hotel. However, i think from being at the hotel, it is a plunge variety and will be heated. Do not take my word for it though. Also, i was not there in June so i cannot tell you about the weather. Look that up as well.
