We had the most amazing time at Sekala. The staff could not do enough to please us and we were treated like royalty. Add to that the fact that Sekala is located on the beautiful, well-maintained and malaria-free Welgevonden estate, and one needs to search no further for the perfect destination.

A beautiful Lodge hidden away in the peacefulness of the Bush. We stayed in the Villa with our own private Lounge & Pool. The Villa was tastefully decorated & very clean. I must just add that we had to ask for the pool to be cleaned, chemicals were added which meant that we could not use it for 24 hours, I would have expected this to have been done before we arrived. The game drives with Patrick were awesome! he has alot of knowledge to share with you. We loved the Coffee Shop Breaks in the morning & the Sundowner Bar breaks on the afternoon drives. The food was delicious & well prepared by Piano, we especially enjoyed the Boma Braai when the staff sang & danced for us! Overall a lovely stay! However I did request something special for our 10th Anniversary & they "forgot" this was very disappointing

Lovely weekend. We were welcomed with friendly smiles. Rooms were lovely and clean with great turndown service. The meals were typically South African and punctually served according to all dietary requirements. All staff were very friendly and the ranger Patric was dedicated to exceed all our game drive expectations. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at Sekala for 3 nights over the long weekend.

From the time we were picked up the staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms were lovely and the only thing missing was air-conditioning, so summer could be very hot.
The food was also very good and they catered for all our different dietary requirements.

Game viewing for us was fantastic and we were very lucky to have had great sightings made possible by the lodge's guide Patrick who was phenomenal.

Well worth a visit and will definitely go back.

While overall the Venue is excellent. Just a couple of small points the room requires aircon and the bathroom ceiling was a bit shabby otherwise perfect.
The staff are amongst the best I have ever come across they are fantastic in all aspects.

The lodge is magnificent and so beautifully furnished.
Best of all are the staff at Sekala. Clare, Manager Patrick and his team consisting of Abel, Eva and Francina couldn't do enough for us. The team went out of their way to organise a surprise picnic lunch in the bush and a champagne dinner in the boma on the day of our anniversary. The food and service were first class throughout our stay.

As for the game drives, Patrick with his eagle eyes is an expert ranger and tracker and is passionate about his job. Although the leopard eluded us, we saw 4 of the Big 5 and had wonderful sightings of cheetah. The Welgevonden Game Reserve is very diverse and it was so enjoyable taking in all the different scenery and stopping to enjoy a break at "Patrick's Coffee Shop" in the mornings and "Patrick's Bush Bar" in the evenings.
Patrick, Abel, Eva and Francina, we will miss your smiles and laughter and can't wait to come back one day. Thank you.

From the time we were picked up at the entrance to our departure in a thunderous storm we were treated like royalty by Patrick and the rest of the team. No request was too much. We managed to see 4 of the big 5 in 2 days and were lucky enough to see a cheetah and 2 Cubs feeding on her recent kill. From the smallest chameleon to our close encounters with elephant and rhino, Patrick shared his knowledge and educated us on the history of the land. Our room was impeccable, service great, evening meals around the nomad not to be missed. Lunches a bit bland in comparison but food is plentiful and you definitely don't go hungry. A long weekend that will be treasured

My husband and I stayed for three nights at this wonderful lodge. From the moment we arrived we felt at home we were met by Patrick our game ranger and had a very informative drive to the lodge. Our BOMA meals under the stars were fabulous . The team of five provide a friendly excellent service. The game drives were fantastic ,we saw the big 5 in two days ,a special privilege to see a leopard and her two cubs not to mention a big proud male lion walking by our truck and observing him for over twenty minutes. A bonus after one drive to find elephants at the lodge waterhole
From the smallest creature to the birds and largest mammal we saw the lot , Patrick was so knowledgable .
This is truly a special place to which we will return .

We had the most awesome time at Sekala. The staff were superb and took care of everything and accommodated all or culinary needs. Patrick the ranger was unbelievable and knowledgeable and tried to find all the animals on our checklist The camp was comfortable without being pretentious. It was the best place to introduce an American to her first African safari.

A very nice and cosy lodge with a small friendly and helpful staff of 4. They always tried to make us feel comfortable. Patrick, the game ranger, was very informative and a good host and guide on the game drives. The Lodge caters for few people, 10, so everything is personalised. Thank you for a very nice experience at Sekala.
