This was my first time staying in New Windsor and also in an Econo Lodge. I went for rest but was pleasantly surprised how comfortable and peaceful it was for the price. The room was nicely furnished, a table to eat at and an armchair, I don't like just having the bed to sit in. There was a refridgerator and coffee pot. The room was clean and they practice covid safety with masks in public areas, social distancing etc...
The location is near lots of restaurants of all kinds plus plenty of shopping and historic sites to visit. It is near West Point and Stewart Airport. It was very pretty location with the Fall colors in the trees and distant mountains. Unfortunately, they have no breakfast because of the covid, but with the coffee and refridge and vending machines you can make your own without having to leave the room in the morning. I plan to return there soon.

Plenty of parking. Clean and spacious room. Two floors no elevator, however, as seniors they realized a 1st floor was needed. Breakfast was all carbs, no protein; ,thought maybe a yogurt,fruit or hard boiled egg. Couldn’t find anything to use to make oatmeal in microwave . Every bowl and cup was styrofoam. In the rooms they suggest using our linens for 3 days to “save the environment” before they got changed! Staff Nicole at desk was great, and a gentleman in the evening; even a veteran from dessert storm working on a project stopped to help my husband with his tie. Price was fair and beds and pillows were very comfortable. If the breakfast was okay with you or you really don’t care about the future, you will love this motel.

Many problems with this place. For example, there is no elevator!! Big problem for elderly clients, or those with lots of stuff. Not even a luggage cart, for those lucky enough to get a first floor room.
Because we're elderly and I informed them that it was physically impossible for us to stay in an upper floor, they gave us a first floor smoking (!) room. The stink was pretty bad. They did waive the pet fee, but it was nevertheless expensive.
Furniture was damaged and soiled; the whole place has obviously been deemed unworthy of not only investment, but even of maintenance. We'll never stay there again.

Don’t ever stay here!! There is no way to get to the second floor except on a pair of outdated, worn out carpeted metal stairs with no backs on them. The whole place smells of stale cigarettes and mold. They have tried to cover this up with an overpowering cheap air freshener.
The bathroom had a broken toilet seat and the sink drain was not hooked up. So when I turned on the water it simply ran on to the floor. So in order to wash your hands or brush your teeth you had to use the tub.
I refused to walk barefoot in the room or use the shower. If you gave me a free room here I would never stay here again. Stay away from this place it is very tired.

The entire place has a strange odor of a combination of musty, cigarette smoke and cheap air freshener. The room was infested with small flies, especially in the bathroom. There was a plastic cup taped to the bathroom ceiling, apparently covering up a hole. The partial single roll of toilet paper had gotten wet and was not replaced. The comforter smelled like someone had been smoking in bed and the sheets had holes. I slept on top of the blankets. Parts of the walls and ceiling were peeling from apparent unrepaired water damage. It was by far the worst place I've ever stayed in.

See title Terrible room. In dire need of upgrade. Roaches on the ceiling. Smells of old cigarette smoke. I would not recommend this room for anyone. This building should be condemned. Honestly this listing should be removed from hotelchoice

We stayed here for one night to go to a family Christmas party nearby. It was absolutely filthy. It smelled like an old shoe and cigarettes. There were burn holes in the old blankets on the bed. The floors in the bathroom had hair and dust on them. Even the side of the toilet paper was dirty and dusty. For 85 bucks a night you could do better somewhere else.

This place is a party house. The furniture is very old and room is in bad condition. A lot of young partiers, due to cost per night. Not a family motel. Carpet is dirty. Chairs are stained. Wires sticken out of walls. Cock roach motel. Never again.

I have never given a 1 star rating so will keep this review short.
As soon as you enter the lobby you’re met by a smell that was the combination of musty and cigarette smoke (I honestly did not know you were allowed to smoke in NY Hotels anymore).
We were on the second floor and the smell of the cigarettes was everywhere. The room was actually a nice size with a queen and twin and the beds were comfortable, and the staff very friendly but that is where the positives stop. The carpet was stained, the mattress cover had cigarette burns in it, the drop ceiling had water stains and there was a coating of grim and dirt above all the door jams and bathroom mirror and hairdryer. All the wallpaper seams were separating (like time to pull down and just paint). My wife and I could not think about walking barefoot in the room.
There was a breakfast spread in the morning but honestly just went down the road to a diner.
Again, I have sated at a lot of budget/basic places and while they might have been dated never rundown/dirty. I would never recommend this hotel or stay here again.

To be fair, this was a low-cost motel and I knew that going in. At the same time, I ended up here because of a mix-up with Hotels.com. NOTE: Hotels.com completely made this right, refunding my room charge and providing a credit on top of that. Kudos to Hotels.com.
This particular EconoLodge is absolutely sub-standard: the room was dirty (I slept for three hours, on top of the bed, with my street clothes on...) and I was advised on arrival to move my car around to the side where the security cameras are. I took that advice.
As noted, this was a mix-up. I had intended to stay at the Days Inn (a few miles away) and actually stopped there first (thinking that was where I was staying...). The Days Inn (Newburgh) was perfectly fine, and priced exactly the same. I'd highly recommend choosing the Days Inn in Newburgh and avoiding this particular EconoLodge.

Yes it does. My stay was in a room with hardwood floors so it appeared clean vs a carpeted floor that would be hard to tell.
