Detailed Reviews
My husband and I came here for a weekend getaway and were so happy we chose Moondance. I was a little nervous about going away during COVID but Kathy is doing an absolutely wonderful job of keeping this place spotless and COVID free.
The place is beautiful as are the grounds. We stayed in the Starry Night room which was beautiful and had its own entrance from the outside, a patio with a bistro table and chairs, an electric fireplace and a deep jacuzzi tub. Kathy also put a table and chairs inside the room for COVID so we were able to have breakfast in the room if we wanted.
The breakfast was two course and delicious. Kathy even sent me the recipe for her delicious crustless quiche. This place goes above and beyond to add little extra touches that go a long way. There were fresh cut flowers in the room as well as on each little aromatherapy pods for the tub. Kathy's dinner recommendations were spot on and she had free passes for Mohonk Mountain preserve.
This place is a perfect weekend getaway and Kathy and Arnie were the perfect hosts. We could not have picked a better place to get away! Thank you so much!

Needed a restful break, but also desiring an area with outdoor possibilities and nearby places to visit. Moondance is nicely located to be close enough to fabulous hikes, rides, walks, and sightseeing, but not needing to be right in the heart of all the activity.
Kathy was a delight - welcoming accessible, informative - all at just the right levels.
We were provided a peak into each of the 4 rooms. Could have happily stayed in any one of them. The pictures and descriptions are helpful for making a choice, but they are even prettier in person.
There is a lovely and comfortable common area, with tea and coffee available 24 hours, books and board games. Off they sitting area is an expansive, full of light, eating area that overlooks an outdoor area where some pretty unique looking birds come to feed. Delightful breakfast includes home cooked treats, one day of which were delicious scones a la Arnie, the other mini versions of the memorable Jordan Marsh blueberry muffins a la Kathy.
The room was really lovely - comfortable bed and linens, soft towels, a mini fridge with water provided, a sitting area, and a nice sized table with chairs.
The room was pristine, with many details, including the availability of a nightlight, two way shades that provided light and privacy, security for entry and rooms.
Just what we needed.

We stayed three nights in the Starry Night room which is a beautiful, spacious, and private room with a sweet electric fireplace, and deep soaking bathtub with jets. Since we were visiting during covid times, we felt very safe with our own separate entrance and porch area. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed it on the porch every morning surrounded by autumn colors. There are Adirondack chairs and a hammock in the yard, and the woods have a little path so you can enjoy nature just steps away from your room.

We truly had a wonderful experience at the Moondance Ridge Bed & Breakfast in New Paltz, NY. We stayed for three nights in the Moondance Suite. The room was clean, bright and airy. Our hosts, Kathy and Arnie were extremely gracious, friendly and hospitable. Moondance Ridge B&B is on several acres of land (worth exploring) and home to several different kinds of birds, Kathy feeds them every morning, in addition various chickens parade the premises like they own the joint. Kathy took great lengths to accommodate my wife's food allergies - wiping up scrumptious, delightful breakfast dishes each day. We had breakfast outside each morning on the porch along with a pot of coffee. We visited Mohonk Preserve (watched the rock climbers) and Minnewaska State Park Preserve (spectacular Falls), Kathy provided passes for each. Regarding places to eat, Kathy and Arnie were spot on correct with their recommendations - 'Huckleberry', Lola's, 'Gavan's' and 'Clemson Bros Brewery'. We totally enjoyed our stay at Moondance Ridge B&B. We definitely will be back!

My wife and I recently stayed a couple of nights. The room, property and breakfast were all fantastic. The owner Kathy is on top of every little detail. She’s also a super sweet host. She has a knack for being there when you want something but otherwise is hands off. She seems to have a sixth sense. Kathy also has an encyclopedic knowledge of restaurants, parks, farm stands and seemingly everything else you could ask about in the area. She managed to serve delicious breakfast with each room at a different, well-spaced table without anyone feeling neglected or left out. Everything was spotless in the house, our room (including the bathroom) and on the property. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The location is perfect. The house is set back from the road with beautiful grounds in all directions. It’s far enough from Main St to avoid the traffic and bustle there but close enough that you can be on Main St in 5 minutes.

Room was more like a 2 room suite, bathroom was updated, many modern remotes for fan, tv and lights.
The property was perfectly maintained and the whole house was exceptionally clean. Kathy and her husband love being hosts and their energy was definitely felt.
Breakfast was not overstuffing but all fresh and delicious.
Looking forward to visiting again.

We visited over MLK day weekend and had a fantastic time. The house is lovely and the rooms are great - comfortable and clean with a whirlpool bath (perfect after a day of hiking in the snow!) and a cosy sitting area with a sofa and fire. Kathy was the perfect host greeting us with a delicious breakfast each morning (homemade raspberry scones, blueberry muffins, baked apples, pumpkin waffles with local maple syrup, Swiss cheese quiche over fresh spinach with turkey sausage among other things), giving us some great local recommendations and even offering to drive us into town. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed at Moondance Ridge over a long weekend getaway and are already planning our next trip, which will include a repeat stay at this wonderful B&B. The room was spotless, comfortable, and located in a relaxing oasis not far from town and the rail trail. My husband is a very light sleeper and praised how quiet the place was. Air conditioning was also critical for us. The whirlpool tub was perfect for relaxing. The town of New Paltz is also very fun, vibrant, and inviting. We didn't want the weekend to end!
Kathy and Artie are excellent hosts, ensuring we got settled into our room upon arrival, sharing stories with us, and suggesting local places to check out. The B&B grounds are very cute as well: a couple of hammocks, birdhouses and squirrels for entertainment, and gorgeous forest grounds to wander in.
The amount of care and pride that goes into the B&B is evident. Do yourself a favor and book your stay here - you will love every bit of it!

No complaints at all about this cozy rustic getaway. Casual greetings, felt very welcome and not overwhelmed, like Kathy was sharing her home with us. The room was great; clean and cozy with amenities and a great view. It felt private and we got some great food recommendations. Was looking for a relaxing night away and we got it. The embroidered robes were a great touch as well as the whirlpool tub! The electric fireplace added to the ambience. Would definitely want to stay here again and make time to hang out in the lovely lobby. Breakfast was beyond our expectations with many course of balanced and healthy food while watching the birds, and separate tables to make us feel safe. 10/10!

Kathy is an excellent hostess. She greeted us with a warm smile and gave us the comfort we were looking for away from home. The rooms are well insulated and very clean and tidy. The mattresses and pillows are very comfortable as well. You do not have to worry about a loss of amenities because there are and more! The delicious and healthy breakfast always left us full and ready for the day and Kathy offered substitutions if need be. After a long day of hiking and being outdoors exploring, the whirl pool bath is delightful to come home to for your sore muscles. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!!
