The rooms are awful. If I had a choice I would have gone elsewhere. It smelled awful! The furniture has visible stains that were so gross I didn’t sit. The lamps looked like someone puked on them. The only clean spot was the bathroom. I went out and bought a candle to mask the smell and sheets because I wasn’t sure about how clean they really were considering the state of the rest of the room. I asked for a partial refund or a new room but the would not accommodate me.

Old outdated place. Shower was dated old broken tiles, there was a broken deadlock on the door, glue marks all over the walls, alarm went off at 5 am and we never set it. Would not stay there again for the money we paid ; it was not a good experience.

After reading some of these reviews I was a little worried but my worries were for naught. We paid $71/night for a suite which had 2 double beds and a pullout sofa. The room was clean, the bed were very comfy and the pillows were nice and fluffy. the AC worked great and, being from Texas, that is important! The TV was a nice flat screen. The only issue we had there was that it was kind of off center and it was hard to watch from the bed and the remote didn't work but they brought one up pretty quick. The deadbolt didn't work either. It is a small property with one main hall down the middle and the rooms off to either side. The continental breakfast (nothing special at all) is served in the main office. The hotel is in a pretty desolate area but it is well lit and there is a nice diner down the road a bit. It is close to New Paltz (about a mile) and Highland (about 4 miles) and Poughkeepsie (about 10 miles). Very pretty country around there too. Overall, I would stay here again - I felt very comfortable and slept well.

Hotel's Favourite
My expectations weren’t very high since I’ve never stayed at any of these hotels before however, this hotel there’s nothing wrong with the room I had I was in room 126. The bathroom was a big surprise. It was very clean all the fixtures look like they were brand new the bed was comfortable not too keen on the heating and air-conditioning but hey, it’s an older hotel.
My only issue is I wish that the lights in the parking lot came on when people walked around out there. It was pretty dark out there when I woke up about 5 AM other than that I got no issues at all. Yeah, the hallway carpet had a funny smell. It wasn’t horrible, but it just smelled a little off but they could fix that Easily
The room is just what I expect is a refrigerator. There’s a microwave and like I said, I got a king size bed. Definitely worth stopping again for a good nights sleep.

The highlights are an amazing front desk and cleaning staff, quiet location less than 2 miles from downtown and very comfortable beds. After leaving a subpar property, I asked about the beds and asked to see a sleeping room. They were very accommodating and showed the room from the open door due to COVID-19. We have been here 3 nights and had to extend for an additional night. They made it very easy for us and even though housekeeping isn't automatic during this time, they offered more than once to clean while we were out. Since we were a walk-in, they took $30 off the nightly rate shown on the Choice website and charged only $90;nt.
The lowlights are the property is very dated. The decor is equally dated. There is no breakfast at this time and coffee service doesn't begin until 8am. There are no in-room coffee makers, but we always travel with a Keurig anyway. They very kindly opened the lobby door before 8am to allow me to grab some sugar.
This is one of 3 hotels that I'm aware of in the area as many are BnBs and lodge type properties. My husband is a barn painter and this was a great choice for him and the work crew!

When we travel, I book some accommodations ahead of time and then leave some nights open just so we have more flexibility when we're moving around. That means we are looking for something fairly cheap the day before or the day of as we travel.
My daughter found this online, searching by location and price. It was easy to find and get to. The price was surprisingly good and the hotel was clean - almost every time we came or went from our room, we saw someone doing housekeeping. It was quiet, the room was nice and bigger than I expected. Everything worked fine and we felt safe and comfortable.

I stayed here with a large group of ladies, we had 3 rooms, great price, comfortable, clean and great location. The rooms are large and the fridge is a great size, much bigger than the usual hotel fridge. Very friendly front desk. We will definitely return when back in the area.

Was as expected but also some pluses. Typical low budget roadside motel. Staff incredibly pleasant. Room was clean, had a fridge and micro. AC a bit loud but I don't mind the white noise. Towels could have been a bit thicker, and bathroom sink could be a bit bigger. No breakfast (but they tell you that on the site). Good option for a night passing through.

Ive been coming to New Paltz for many years now with my family, and let me tell you this is what New Paltz needed ... SUITES. The new rooms at the Rodeway Inn are cheaper than most rroms in New Paltz, and are far better than the rest. The rooms are very comfortable for my family and myself, as there was a couch and a nice big TV. Breakfast was small, but it was still worth the value. I have already booked my next trip with the Rodeway Inn in New Paltz, and they gave me 10% off for returning! This is a great place for families.

I don't know what the negative reviewers of this motel are expecting from a motel -- the Rodeway had clean bathrooms, fresh carpeting, decent beds, working tvs and helpful staff. All at a reasonable price and located ideally to both downtown Paltz and the attractions of the Gunks. The only complaint I can come up with is that the bathroom fan didn't work separately from the light and had to have been the loudest fan ever made. But given the alternative?
Also, I was injured mountain biking in the area and because we were at the hospital all night woke up after checkout time. The staff was *extrememly* understanding and accomodating and refunded our money for the day.
I'll certainly stay here again, and you should too.
