Danskammer House exceeded our expectations as a bed and breakfast. Linda and Ken lovingly restored the historic house to much of its original glory. The interior was dressed with period pieces and artwork reflecting the history of the area. The third floor public lounge space offered additional entertainment with a TV, games, window seats and mini wet bar with stemware and a small refrigerator. The grounds descending to the street below contained well tended gardens of fruits, vegetables and an assortment of flowers. Our bedroom and ensuite bathroom were bright, well appointed and very comfortable.
The owners, Linda and Ken, provided a breakfast beyond believable- better than gourmet and individually prepared (I am a vegetarian). The food was locally sourced or right from their own gardens. The afternoon "tea" in the Japanese themed carriage house was equally enjoyable. Our hosts shared a wealth of information about the area (things to do, area restaurants, etc). They were always available for questions, historical context or "issues" like oiling a squeaky bathroom door!
We look forward to returning when we are back in the area next spring.

We were traveling to Marlboro from NYC for a milestone birthday party of a very close friend. This was our first night staying in a hotel/inn since COVID-19 pandemic began. While we were quite apprehensive about booking any sort of accommodations at the time, our first email from Linda and Ken the proprietors of Danskammer House instantly put us at ease. They had been temporarily closed since the pandemic began and they alerted us to all of the safety precautions they had put in place for guests as well as themselves. We were immediately assured that we were in good hands and our visit to their delightful inn did not disappoint. The inn was extremely clean and very well appointed. Our ensuite room provided a full updated bath, with lush towels, was incredibly clean and had great tile work with brilliant fixtures throughout. While the home is 150 years old, it is very well maintained. Lots of light, airy windows and a ceiling fan in our room, but it was so humid during our stay we needed to crank up the Mitsubishi AC which worked extremely well. When we returned to our room late one evening we found a tray of fresh scones. The next morning we had breakfast on their sun porch with other quests, all seated safely away from us. Breakfast included homemade muffins, fresh raspberries from their garden and eggs prepared to our liking, seasoned with fresh herbs also from their garden. Ken and Linda were extremely attentive, warm gracious hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely visit again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Danskammer, which is conveniently located near all the Hudson Valley has to offer. Our hosts Ken and Sue were welcoming and true enthusiasts of the history of their home in Marlboro. We enjoyed a charming and beautifully clean room and private bath, and each morning awoke to a delicious and elegant breakfast. We also greatly appreciated all of Danskammer’s careful efforts to take COVID-19 precautions. We can’t wait until our next visit!

I recently had the opportunity of visiting the Danskammer House Bed & Breakfast in Marlboro, NY for four nights. In all my years of professional and personal travel, I have never had better treatment or a better experience. The rooms were tidy and comfortable, all the baths had their own on-demand hot water heaters, and the Hudson River School of Art prints were a perfect compliment to the rooms (each named after the artist whose paintings adorned the rooms). Breakfasts and afternoon snacks were homemade and exceptional - including home baked items and locally sourced ingredients. This is truly a five star destination. My only hesitation in writing this review is that the Danskammer House has only a few rooms and I want to be sure that I can get a reservation when I return to the area.

We spent two nights in this charming, lovingly restored inn. The hosts, Linda and Ken are amiable, available and interesting to converse with. The inn is spotless and carefully maintained with many rooms and spaces where guests can gather or also choose to have time for themselves. Breakfasts were all homemade and were superb.
Usual room amenities were available as was an afternoon snack with tea, coffee or other beverage. The hosts are careful about covid and take the expected precautions. Off street private parking right in back. Pretty gardens. Cant say enough about the Danskammer, don't hesitate.

Service
The wife and I had an excellent 2 night stay at the Danskammer House. Linda and Ken were very hospitable, knowledgeable, and accommodating. My wife has a gluten allergy and they were flexible when it came to making breakfast for her. We enjoyed the midday snacks (hummus, veggies, and crackers on one day and fruit and cheese on the other).

Room
The rooms were comfortable. We stayed in the Innis (sp?) suite, which had a nice view of part of the town and the Hudson River. Being that the house was built a very long time ago, I was surprised and happy to see how modern the bathroom was.

Location and Amenities
There's not much to do in the immediate area, but a five to ten minute drive in any direction and you will end up at a winery. We went to Weed Orchards & Winery and Benmarl Winery. Both very nice places with delicious wine, pizza, and other food.

Best
Some of the highlights are Linda and Ken, for their hospitality, and the proximity to the wineries and restaurants. We also went to Beacon, NY, to get coffee and gluten-free treats. Beacon, NY is right over the bridge near where Hudson Tacos (another good spot) is located.

Worst
The mosquitos were bothersome, so make sure to bring repellent. It would be cool if there were things to do that were in walking distance.

Ken and Linda have lovingly restored this gorgeous Victorian to perfection. They are the perfect hosts: welcoming, informative accommodating, and fun to be with. Everything is impeccably kept, clean, thoughtfully amended with everything from trays of tea and banana bread laid out to take in the living room or to take back to a cozy spot in your room. They serve a delicious gourmet breakfast and really care about your specific tastes and preferences. Would love to come back again!

We could not have found more welcoming, considerate and informative innkeepers than Linda and Ken. The extraordinary restoration bespeaks the care, attention to detail and beauty that this Inn provides. We stayed in the Gifford Suite which provided a warm and comfortable king size bed and a state of the art en-suite bathroom with beautiful Italian tile and upscale walk in shower. The view from each window overlooked the multi-level gardens of the Inn below and the Hudson River in the distance. Don't miss the upper level where you can relax after a long day in a spacious well appointed and comfortable room with interesting views of the surroundings.

Our hosts breakfasts were prepared with homegrown ingredients that was plentiful and scrumptious.

It is within a short distance from various interesting venues along the Hudson River for all to enjoy.

Thank you Linda and Ken for your hospitality. We are sure to return......................

This was a lovely overnight stay. We arrived to a tour of the inn by Linda, half of the conjugal proprietorial team, who gave a fascinating account of the inn and the area (she is an anthropologist by training). Ken is the charming other half. We would have stayed for more had we not had a meeting planned with old friends later that evening. The room was very well furnished, with a lovely view, and this was the one place on the trip which had a handheld shower, which I like. Grapefruit juice at breakfast, unlike some other places, actually was fresh! The staircase was a little bit of a challenge with a medium size suitcase, so I advise packing in small bags, but overall this was lovely.

We loved staying here. Linda and Ken are gourmet breakfast cooks, and provided helpful advice on nearby attractions. This is a perfect location for visiting nearby places such as Storm King, Beacon, Rhinebeck, Vassar Art Museum, the Walkway Over the Hudson and other nearby rail trails. Next time we are in the area, we'll definitely stay with them again. We also very much appreciated their requirement that all guests be vaccinated. -Pam and Alan Z.
