It took mountaineering skills to reach the reception desk from the secure car park.We then had a very cool welcome from the proprietor and one which was not very helpful. We were told we were not booked in for the 6 days we had set aside even though we had the confirmation with us in writing. It was claimed there must have been a communication breakdown and although the place was practically empty and crying out for trade, it was not to be.. We were stuck in late afternoon with no where to turn to. Eventually it was agreed that we could stay just that one night. In the wider perspective of Port St. John this turned out to be an inspired decision and much to our benefit. The room was basic, small, cramped and old fashioned. The bathroom comprising toilet and shower cubicle was miniscule and very inefficient. You could only stand sideways on and the taps were difficult to manage. The rooms were not as clean as they should have been. The breakfast was basic and minimal but o.k.. By contrast the bar, dining area, pool and grounds were well designed and comfortable. I can't even begin to explain the contrast. This B&B was very overpriced and not at all value for money. Just avoid.

Room Tip: Check the rooms out carefully. Ones around the pool seemed best although ours was definitely not.

I have not stayed here, however I recommend to stay away. We had booked for 10 people to stay there and at the last minute, the lady decided to cancel on all of us. This was during peak December holidays. Not only did she cancel on us, she was rude and disrespectful on the phone. Due to her completely disgusting behavior, we where required to find bookings at multiple different places and had to break up our group that we were holidaying with. Thank you Sunlof for ruining our plans for traveling together.
