Perhaps it was because we had just emerged from the vast silent spaces of the Kalahari, but Keetmanshoop felt distinctly unwelcoming. Until we reached the Bird's nest that was. Rusa made us feel comfortable and we had a good nights sleep in the clean, newly renovated room. The fridge and coffee making equipment were a plus. While the price seemed a bit steep, the welcome was warm.

Arrived a day early and was accommodated. Clean rooms, friendly and good service. Good breakfast. Rooms are a bit cramped due to too many cupboards, wash basin etc. that is not really necessary but still comfortable. Big tree and green garden an oasis after driving through the desert for a few days.

The Birds Nest Hotel didn't reserved the family room for us and wanted us to book two rooms, after complaining the send us down the road to the B&B. The place was accommodating and the food wasn't the best I have eaten, the accommodation was nice, large clean rooms and safe parking.

Pro's: larger than average breakfast, secure parking, TV, above average shower.
Con's: Staff (play loud music on phones during the day, don't replace towels, not trained), dirty towels when replaced, doors have glass to see through, reverses at night.

I intially booked in at central lodge ( central lodge it is a disgrace and not recommended) and i called birds nest at 22:40 in the evening, and the manager was very warm, and helpful! The facilities are modern and luxurious. Breakfast was awesome! I will surely recommend this to anyone travelling to keetmanshoop.

Welcomed at reception with the girl wearing her pajamas and slippers while chewing gum! The towels was dirty, the bedding was dirty (Yellow Stains). Guests arrived late for check in (22:30) and made so much noise until 02:30 the morning - there was no attempt to make them quite at all. Couldn't get any sleep at all.
The breakfast is terrible - waited for coffee for half an hour and AGAIN welcomed by the girl wearing her pajamas and slippers. WORST EVER

Found the place to be accommodating. The food wasn't the best I have eaten, the accommodation was nice, large clean rooms and safe parking. We drove past the place initially and did not think much of it till we were advised to go try it

From the first minute you get an impression that this place wasnt going to be great. We were greeted by the receptionist dressed in her pajamas and slippers. The room was clean and neat, but smelled of smoke. Breakfast was fine, good selection of warm and cold breakfast. Very pricey, I'm sure there is other accommodation in the area that is more worth your money.

We stood at the bird's nest for one night in Dec. 2013. For a double room with en suite bathroom we paid N$ 700. The room was spacious with A/C, facility to make coffee and the usual stuff. The bathroom was rather small with the toilet brush missing. There was a bible lying next to the bed and at the reception as well some christian prayers and enlightment speeches were running all the time.
Breakfast was average, you could choose toast bread, muesli and something from a small breakfast menu like filled omelette. The omelette wasn't great, but edible.
Altogether the B&B is definitely okay but should be rather in the price range of N$400-500
