I stayed in Keetmans plenty of times before, but due to many good feedback received from this Guesthouse, I thought let's give it a try!
We arrived in a very warm 43°C late afternoon. Our room was nice and cool with a very effective working airconditioner. The swimming pool was sparkling clean.
Reinette has such a warm homely personality that reflects beautifully in the rooms with all the personal finishing touches. Everything has been thought of.
A cooked dinner was an option, but we have already made other plans.
The beds are comfortable, and the towels are the most cleanest fresh towels we have ever experienced in the whole of Namibia!
We had to leave early the next day. Reinette makes one mean delicious breakfast pack! It carried us through a whole day!!! This was such a highlight to our tour.
Thank you Reinette we will most definitely be back to stay at Pension Gesserts again.

Gessert Guesthouse offers seven rooms with breakfast in Keetmanshoop, an important hub on the B1 connecting Windhoek to the Southern part of Namibia. Located in a quiet neighborhood, the guesthouse offers a nice garden with several sitting areas and a pool. It is famous for its breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, two types of bread, jam, cheese, granola with yoghurt, and eggs prepared to your liking. The coffee was excellent, too.
We were able to park our car inside the gates, and had a room facing the garden area. Our room with en-suite bathroom was perfectly clean and well kept. Talking to the very nice owner who took the property over three years ago, we learnt that she is renovating various parts of the building, step-by-step, for example repainting the façade. So stay tuned, the guesthouse will soon be in an even better shape than today.

We liked our stay here a lot (although the dog put off my sister-in-law). The rooms are very comfortable, the garden is very nice with lots of spots to relax, breakfast is big and delicious. Safe parking. Nice host.

We stayed twice at Pension Gessert on our trip to Namibia. Very comfortable and clean rooms and the breakfast provided was top class. Lovely and relaxing poolside area. Reinette was extremely helpful in offering advice about things to do around Keetmanshoop - Quiver Tree Forest and Naute Kristall Distillery. We will definitely stay again on future trips.

We stayed over at Pension Gessert on two different occasions in May. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are basic, but has everything you need. The Wi-Fi quality is good, but the signal strength is not sufficient to cover all the rooms (for example room 5). The highlight of this guest house is definitely the breakfast, with assortments to chose from. My only negative for not giving this establishment 5 stars is because they lock the front gate at night, so you can't leave early to hit the long road. My suggestion would be that they give every guest room a gate key, and maybe put a box at reception where guests can leave room keys.

As happens so often in Namibia this hidden place looks like nothing from the outside. But as soon as the visitor enters the premises he or she is amazed by the hospitaliy, cleanliness and friendliness of the Guesthouse. I had not booked my stay. I simply drove into town and followed the "Gesserts"-signs.

Keetmanshoop is certainly not the perfect holiday attraction but it's a nice little town with a new mall where one can stock up on supplies and have dinner and it's located well between Windhoek and the Fishriver Canyon.

For those looking for a place to spend the night including a very rich breakfast served by friendly people I can whole -heartedly recommend Gesserts.

Beautiful rooms, exquisite attention to detail... Breakfasts are a work of art! Friendly little dog and an entertaining parrot. The gardens are like an oasis after the heat and dryness of the journey. A lovely gem in the middle of nowhere.

This place is located kind of far from the center but the area is quiet. There's nothing to see in the Keetmanshoop center anyways.
The garden is wacky! The decoration can seem over-the-top for some but I found it to be lovely and cozy. There are talking parrots, a nice pool area, a shaded reading area and great details that make it unique.
Breakfast was lovely: you can tell they put a lot of work to serve something good, healthy and pretty.
I strongly recommend staying there if you need to stop in Keetmanshoop for a night.

A beautiful, well kept garden. Unfortunately the pool was dirty and even though it was boiling hot, we couldn't bring ourselves to swim - very disappointing. Our room was stuffy, our air-con was small and didn't cool the room, despite leaving it on all night which I would have preferred not to do. The resident parrot was very noisy and woke us up early with it's whistles and talking - whilst that may seem quaint, it is a little inappropriate to have your loud pet in the area where your paying clients will be eating or sleeping.
The bathroom amenities were cheap and ugly, little plastic bottles with taped on labels saying 'shampoo' or 'hand soap' is just common.
Breakfast was delicious and ample however the noisy parrot surely ruined it for us - a peaceful, quiet breakfast would have been far more digestible. Also, the decor is very over the top and tasteless - just dozens of tacky ornaments all over and it's very cluttered with detail...way over the top!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an air con that actually makes the room cold. Ask them to switch on the air...

Well, there is not much to do in Keetmanshoop, just a stop along the way to/from Winghoek. If you end up here staying overnight, make sure to choose Gessert’s place. Located in a quite residential neighborhood, this small place offers a few rooms. The rooms are clean with some kind of kitschy décor and not the most modern rooms, but overall it’s a charming place. Cold drinks are available for a small charge from the fridge. There is a nice yard where you can relax after a long drive. The highlight is the breakfast, nicely decorated and all kind of things you could imagine for breakfast. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Excellent place to spend the night and prepare for the road ahead.
